Adapter bracket mounts to your Class III or Class IV ball mount to provide an attachment point for a friction-style sway-control system (sold separately). There is to much gap between the bracket and ball area.nearly a 1/4 inch on each side.
It is exactly like the one I caused to fail. I had improperly adjusted the tension. This bent and cracked the original unit. The device performed well in eliminating my trailer towing instability. Just don't set it too tight.
I bought this damper mount because it was all set and I didn't have to do anything except bolt it on to my hitch bar. It was very simple just follow the direction provided. Remove the ball then position the damper mount and reinstall the ball. The quality of the part was excellent and everything worked as expected.
This should be included with sway bar. You need this to make connection to hitch
A bit of space between the hitch mount and the bracket and i'm not sure how that will play out. I'm hoping it will be fine as I don't want to have to go out and get another mount.
Necessary purchase if you want to install the Reese Anti-sway bar. Both work together to reduce dangerous sway of trailers.
Heavy duty. Should do the trick.
Excellent Product and quick shipping, the friction sway control and sway control bracket work perfectly, much more enjoyable pulling my pop up camper on the highway!! Thanks!
After my original one bent from normal use I found this one which is thicker and formed in a way that would make it stronger. After a year of use it has definitely held up to normal use much better than my other one. Definitely recommend this unit.
This bracket looks very strong and dry fits perfectly on my hitch. I have not actually used it because it was suggested that it be welded to the hitch to ensure it does not wiggle which could cause the ball to loosen.
Worked great, good product, great service.
All the products I have received from etrailer have been top quality, and the service and support is the best.
Service representative Gwendolyn Y was very helpful and solved my problem very quickly.
Heavy duty quality. Looked for a long time before finding this. Sure beats big bulky hitch combinations and I don't need load equalization. Look easier than welding plate that comes with sway kit. etrailer was great about keeping me posted on order status. Although, initially back-ordered, it arrived a couple of days before promised date
We added this to our hitch so we could use our sway control bar for our pop-up camper. It has worked great with over 4000 miles of towing.
Been using for a year now, works excellent, stops sway in side wind and traffic. I am using with a single axle camper that weighs 3300 lbs. and it handles it well.
I purchased this product along with a sway control bar to mount on my RZR trailer that I pull behind my 26 ft bumper pull travel trailer. We get a lot of wind in Idaho and the light weight trailer would start to fishtail uncontrollably in high winds.
Most of the other brackets for sway control devices either needed to be welded on my hitch or I would have to buy a totally new hitch with the bracket already attached.
This bracket installed easily and etrailer shipped fast so the problem was eliminated quickly. It worked so well that I purchased a second one for my travel trailer as well.
Thanks etrailer and keep up the good work!!!
Having been a metal fabricator for many years, I was very disappointed that the space left between the downtabs that go over the ball mount was so great. It would have been so easy to make a snug fit. The way it is, there's a quarter-inch gap that may allow this attachment to work the ball loose. I haven't towed with it yet and it may be fine as it is, although, I believe I may have to add a weld on the inside of the gap to make a closer tolerance. All ball mounts are the same width...why not fabricate this part to fit tight over the ball mount? If it was too tight, it would have been much easier to file a little off than it will be to add more metal. I expected a better fit, but then again, I am used to precision fabrication.
This piece was exactly what I needed and worked great!
We used this bracket on our last trailer and purchased it again for our new trailer.
Works great, easy to install.
You'll need this for installing a sway control bar with a small ball to attach to your hitch. Otherwise, you have to weld the plate in for the small ball that comes with the sway control bar.
I bought this so I could use my sway bar on my small camper. It has worked great. It was easy to install, and putting the sway bar hitch ball on it was easy also. Very satisfied with this product.
Simple add-on. Arrived quickly packed with tires order at the same time. I did have to pick up a new ball with a longer shank to accomodate the thickness of the material and to allow proper thread protrusion past the nut. Price seems pretty high for such a simple piece of steel.
I ordered this product for an upcoming trip for my enclosed trailer along with a sway kit. It worked flawlessly. The sway was totally eliminated, and the adapter was very easy and straight forward to install. Be sure when you are ordering to make sure the size of the drawbar you are attaching this too, as I almost ordered for the 1 1/4" instead of the 2" that I needed. So glad I double checked. Everything I have ordered from etrailer.com has always worked for what I needed it to. I will return in the future, as demand dictates.
