Today we're going to review part number RP83001. This is the Reese lube plate for Elite Series and Reese fifth wheel trailer hitches. It's 12 inches in diameter. Now this lube plate will prevent scratches on your skid plate of your fifth wheel trailer hitch. This will let your trailer kingpin slide into the trailer hitch with ease, and there's no need for any messy grease. This does offer extra protection with the large surface area, and it is constructed of a durable nylon.
Just to give you an idea, here's what the kingpin would be, and it's on your fifth wheel trailer. That's what would connect to your fifth wheel hitch. Before you make your connection, you just slide your lube plate on, and then this would slide . The kingpin would slide into your fifth wheel trailer hitch. This plate will give you the lubrication and the protection, helps as far as turning and prevents your skid plate of your hitch from getting scratches on it. The application for this lube plate is it fits Reese fifth wheel trailer hitch with a 20,000 pound weight capacity.
It also fits the Reese Elite Series and Signature Series fifth wheel hitches. A few dimensions on this, again, the diameter overall is 12 inches. The thickness is right at 3/16 of an inch. That should do it for the review on part number RP83001, the Reese lube plate for Elite Series and Reese fifth wheel trailer hitches. .

We have been pulling a fifth wheel weighing around 12,500 lbs for around 2800 miles and this lube plate is like new. Never having to worry about greasing the plate is great. Can't imagine not using one of these.

The lube plate works as advertised. I have only used it once so I am only giving it a 4 star rating at this time. I'm not sure at this time how long it will wear. Everything is nice and neat with no greasy mess anywhere. Good price.

Update: I have since bought a new 5th wheel RV and the first thing I did was transfer the lube plate over to the new RV on the dealers lot. Still fit perfectly and looks as good as the day I originally installed it. I will not give it a 5 STAR Rating. *****
This fit our 2016 F250 perfectly. One suggestion for those installing it themselves would be to leave the rail bolts a little loose and install the 5th wheel. This will allow you to adjust out some of the fore and aft play out of the 5th wheel before tightening everything down.
Works very well. You put this between your fifth wheel plate, and trailer hitch for lubrication without grease. I have found if you leave your trailer unhitched for any length of time, the grease on your plate, as well as trailer attracts dirt/dust. This is designed to work 'dry', so dust doesn't collect. In sandy soil, the dirt the grease collects acts as sandpaper, wearing things out quickly. This prevents that. Fits snugly on the kingpin of your trailer. You have to kind of tap it up into place, but once there, it seems to stay, at least so far. This one is sized for RV trailers or a gooseneck trailer with a 5th wheel kingpin installed. For a semi, you would need a bigger one.
The lube plate arrived within a couple of days after ordering. It slipped right over the 5th wheel hitch and snapped into place. I'm so happy that there will be no more grease stains applied to my clothing every time I accidentally rub up against the pin or 5th wheel plate. Great product!
The Reese lube plate is what was listed as suggested for the hitch we bought for our truck. It arrived in great condition...large box was a bit of an overkill but appreciated for protection of the plate itself. Took A LONG TIME to arrive. Not sure if the slow shipping was winter weather related or if that's just SOP for this company. Will order again in the future if needed items are available.
The 12" diameter lube plate is perfect for my 5th wheel setup. The plate was add to the 5th wheel connecting pin on my rig by using the open end of a funnel to hold the plate while striking upward with a rubber mallet to push the plate in place. The center of the plate is tight enough to hold the plate in place.
It installed in a snap, seriously. Just remove it from the package and snap onto the pin. It's that easy.
As for how it performs, it makes locking the pin into the hitch jaw much smoother and it prevents marring the hitch head and pin box.
Great product to put on the pin of your 5th wheel. No greasy mess on the hitch plate. Very reasonable in price and after 1200 + miles towing shows very little wear. Thanks
Have not had a chance to use this item yet, but have used these in the past and they do all the are advertised to do. Less noise coming from the 5th wheel plate, easier time backing up/hooking up and best of all no more grease on the 5th wheel decking.
This is the second Trailair hitch I have purchased. Fast shipping and easy to install on our new DRV Fullhouse JX390. Much better than the Mor-Ryde hitch DRV uses. Now no bounce in the truck on rough roads.
Was needing larger Lube plate and found it here at etrailer. Perfect product and shipping was extremely fast. Will buy from here again.

Lube plate still functioning well and working good!
Reese 12" lube plate.I have used the Reese lube plate before on previously owned 5th wheels and had great sucess. The lube plate is easy to install and eliminates the mess associated with greasing the top of the wheel wheel hitch.
Works great. Eliminates need to grease truck to RV hitch interface, and metal on metal noises mostly gone. Instructions for installing not completely clear--needs to be knocked up hard onto RV hitch--but pretty obvious once you start putting it on.
Has to be removed when using stabilizing tripod.After only a few uses will not stay on king pin. Affects connecting RV to hitch..
Works as it should. No more need to use grease between trailer hitch and trailer. Well satisfied.
