Today we're going to review part number RP83004. This is the Reese thin lube plate for the Reese fifth wheel trailer hitches in 12 inches in diameter. Now this lube plate is designed to prevent scratches on the skid plate of your fifth wheel trailer hitch. It also let's your trailer kingpin slide into the hitch with ease because it'll help lubricate. There's no need for any messy grease. You can just use the lube plate.
This will offer extra protection because it has a very large surface area. It is constructed of very durable nylon to hold up for quite a while. Basically what'll happen is this is what your kingpin would look like. This is an example of what would be on your pin box. What you would do is just take your lube plate, put it onto your kingpin and then once your kingpin goes into your fifth wheel hitch head and locks into place, with this lube plate on there, it'll give you lubrication and protection between your pin box and the hitch head of your fifth wheel. The application on this, it is designed for the Reese fifth wheel trailer hitches with a 16,000 pound weight capacity.
I did mention this is a thin lube plate. The thickness on this one is 1/8 of an inch. Most lube plates are around 3/16, so this is a little bit thinner. The diameter on this edge to edge is going to be right at 12 inches. That should do it for the review on part number RP83004.

Kept falling off, went back to the reliable grease gun. I don’t mind getting dirty.
I've used these lube plates for years, and they never disappoint. Very easy to install and last me about three seasons. Saves on the grease mess. I will continue to use these for my 5th wheel. Thanks Etrailer.

Benny P - 08/10/2017It has been difficult finding a 1/8 inch lube plate. I should have gone to etrailer first. They always have the right part at a great price, and service second to none.
This is a thin disk and fits my application better that the thick lube disk. No more grease on the plate surface, yeah!
Dennis C - 12/15/2017No issues with this product. When I bought it I was concerned that it wouldn't stay on when the trailer was not hitched to the truck. But we have never had a problem. After a year of use it only has worn slightly.
Haven't used it yet. But looks like advertised. Don't visably see any difference between this and a standard lube plate but who knows?
I've been looking for a thinner lube plate. I haven't hooked up to my 5th wheel yet but the white disk were to thick and made hitching up impossible with Reese R16.
Instructions were great & installation was easy. High quality parts that looked great and are holding up well. Etrailer and Cequent (Reese's parent co.) are both great companies to deal with - extremely knowledgeable and helpful with the products they sell.
