Hello neighbors, welcome back. I'm Steven with etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the Rhino-Rack Backbone Mounting System for your Pioneer Platform. Now this will fit a lot of GMC Sierra, Chevy Silverado crew cabs, but make sure you go to our website, check our fit guide at the top center of the page, enter the year, make and model, and we'll make sure you get the right parts the first time. Now, because of the limited space, I wanna throw up a graphic of pretty much what these would look like at a different angle. So that image above my left shoulder there, that's a little variation, if you will, of what these would look like up on the vehicle.
That being said, these are 56 and a half inches long. They're rated at 220 pounds. Always make sure you're observing your vehicle's maximum roof load capacity. You should be able to find that information in your owner's manual. Now these are a nice steel powder-coated finish.
Very nice finish. You don't have to worry about rust, corrosion, that kind of stuff. I've got this guy kind of mocked up. They do basically sit pretty much up and flat. I'm gonna try to show you maybe a closer angle if possible.
Very nice, heavy duty. All the holes and everything in here, just actually make it more rigid and it's a very nice product. It gives you a nice sleek look, I think. Kind of gives it that industrial look if you will, but very rugged. And again, you can mount this to your Rhino-Rack Pioneer system.
That platform system is sold separately. Now the rails simply connect to the ditches on your vehicle's roof. So the ditches are running or rain gutter guards, whatever you wanna call 'em on the roof of the vehicle. You simply remove the ditch molding, create a permanent fixed mounting point to then install this backbone system. So yes, there is some drilling required per the instructions that come with it. Just follow the instructions and you'll be okay. Now I wanna zoom in here with the hardware. All the mounting hardware is included. You are gonna get six external platforms that provide stable mounting surfaces for the Pioneer Platform itself. That's these guys here. Now they also have their locking blocks, (metal clatters) all the hardware, all these little nuts, the rubber washers, some of the lock washers. That stuff was super small, so I left it in those bags. But you get the drill bit, you get the Allen key and you get these little, I guess I would call 'em like a tar, Butyl tape, sealant kind of thing. They're just like a sealant to make sure no water and stuff gets in the vehicle after you've drilled holes and that kind of thing. So again, pretty simple install. Just follow the instructions. Like I said, they're included. And you shouldn't have any problem. And then you're gonna have a nice sleek looking top for your truck, and again, you'll be able to mount this to the Pioneer Platform. Again, that platform is sold separately. Well folks, that's gonna do it for our look today at this Rhino-Rack Backbone Mounting System. I am Steven. Thank you so much for your time. I hope this information's been helpful to you. Have fun out there. Stay safe.
