The anchor straps do provide tie down points where formerly there weren't any. Only complaint is that they deform rather easily from the heat of the engine compartment.
I bought these along with two Rhino Rack J style adjustable carriers. All products are great and are of high quality. The Rhino Rack tie down holders I put under the hood work perfectly for vehicles that don’t have a good area to tie down straps in the front. Customer service at etrailer is top notch. I got a phone call and an email that my products might be a little late leaving the warehouse. I still ended up with my products 2 days after they made it to the warehouse, and I was able to take the kayaks out for the weekend. Great site and great customer service etrailer. Thanks.

Bought a Rhino Aero roof rack system with 2 kayak holders. Easy to assemble and very quick delivery.
These bent out of shape and started to crack on their 3rd use and I purposefully avoided the highway to make sure I never went above 55mph. If you are using infrequently or don’t plan to go above 45mph they work great but the center bar is just a plastic tube and didn’t hold up to the pressure at all

I am extremely happy with the new Rhino rack to carry my kayak. The product makes it easy to tie down for short or long trips. I just transported my kayak over 10 hours and the tie downs recommended for the front and back worked great. Thank you Lori B for your recommendations and assistance.
Just installed the Rhino Rack Nautic Stack kayak carrier on my Ford Escape. very easy to install and I like that there are 2 mounting options included, with hardware for each. This ceiling fan works great! It is a replacement for the original one that came in our 5th wheel RV. It was easy to install and seems more durable than the original fan.

Rating idea only, have not yet given a field trial. For 40 years I have been a paddler, attaching straps to every vehicle I have owned, purchasing vehicles based on their adaptability to hauling canoes and kayaks, attaching racks and straps...this simple invention could have saved me a lot of time and trouble over the years.

They work great. I am using both on the hood of my car ( each side, next to the hood hinges ) to secure the nose of my kayak. I like the construction, I feel more safe using the Rhino rack straps.

They do what they are made for. If you have a truck with tow Hooks these are not needed. That was my mistake.

A year later and having these anchors saved my husband’s kayak. It was a semi windy day and we hadn’t tightened his kayak down as good as we thought. We were only going 45 down a country road but the kayak popped right out of the front j-hook carrier and would have blown completely off if it wasn’t anchored. Buy these and secure your kayak!!!
