Video Transcript for Ultimate Overview of the Replacement Car Clips for Rightline Gear Car Back Carrier

Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at these Rightline Gear Replacement Car Clips. These are going to replace the clips that secure the straps of your Rightline Gear Car Back Carrier to your vehicle's rear hatch door. And so these are going to work for you if you don't have a roof rack on your system. These will allow you to still use your bag just by attaching it to your rear hatch door.

And these aren't gonna require you to run straps inside your vehicle. They are very easy to get installed. You just hook the clip between your rear hatch door and the roof of your vehicle and then slowly close the hatch over your clips. You got that opening there and to run the strap through so that you have a nice solid anchor point to have that bag connected to your vehicle. These are rubber-coated steel so they're not gonna scratch your vehicles finish, but they are gonna be nice and strong for you.

Just to give you a few measurements, here you can see, these are right about 2 inches wide. There at that lower part about just a little over 2 1/2 inches at that top portion there. And then our opening is right about 5/8 of an inch. So if you are needing to replace those clips to secure your car back carrier to your vehicle, this is gonna be exactly what you need. That completes our look for today.

Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..

Used these to secure the backpack to the rear of our van since we have no luggage rack. The only issue we had is that our hatch was slightly sloped, so they wanted to drift down the sides. I tied a short section of rope between the two so they could not spread and solved the problem.

  • Will the Rightline Cargo Hatch Saddlebag fit Vehicles with Roof Racks 2007 Ford Edge
The 2007 Ford Edge has a small spoiler at the top of rear hatch. Because of that spoiler you will not be able to hook in the car clips, # RL100605, or use the Rightline cargo bag, # RL100B90. The clips and straps would put too much stress on that spoiler. What I recommend is a cargo bag that can mount to a naked roof or vehicle with a roof rack, see link. Rightline bag # RL100S30 is a popular option. I also recommend a protective pad, # RL100650, to protect the roof when using the bag.

  • Right Line Cargo Bag Clips On 2015 Kia Soul Hatchback
Yes, the Car Clips for Rightline Cargo Hatch Saddlebag - Qty 2, # RL100605, will fit on your 2015 Kia Soul Hatchback. I've attached a video of a similar style hook being used on a bike rack to show you compatiblity.

  • Hitch and Cargo Carrier Recommendation for a 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT
I have a better solution for you that I can guarantee will work and would not interfere with your spoiler or any other part of your vehicle. A hitch mounted cargo carrier would work well to carry your cargo and would not interfere with your spoiler plus wouldn't require you to reach up to access the cargo. First you would need a hitch, for that I would recommend the Draw Tite Hitch part # 24905. Then for a cargo carrier you would want the Curt Cargo Carrier part # C18145. Then if you wanted...

  • Will the Rightline Cargo Carrier # RL100B90 fit a Chevy Tahoe
As long as the distance between the rear taillights of your Chevy Tahoe are greater than 40 inches the Rightline Cargo Carrier # RL100B90 that you referenced would work well for you. If you do not have any sort of roof rack or roof rails, you will also need to add part # RL100605. These are clips that will allow you to secure the top straps to the top edges of the double doors.

  • Compatibility of Rightline Car Clips Used With 1-1/2 Inch Straps
I measured one of the roof rack straps for a Rightline Gear Cargo Hatch Saddlebag, # RL100B90, that fits the strap clips # RL100605, that you referenced. The strap measured 2 inches wide. The clip has to be large enough to fit a 2 inch strap, therefore, a 1-1/2 in strap will fit in the clip. The clips are large, with a hook opening of 5/8 of an inch wide.

  • Are the Optional Car Clips Needed to Mount Rightline Saddlebag on a 2010 Chevy Traverse w/Roof Rack
That is correct you can attach the Rightline Saddlebag, # RL100B90 to side rails or crossbars and not have to use the optional clips, # RL100605. These clips would be needed if the vehicle did not have raised side rails or crossbars on the roof. We usually ship orders of items in stock on the same day depending on the time of day it is. I am certain that many places sell the same bag but why shop anywhere else when you have etrailer.com at your fingertips!

  • Will Hooks of Rightline Cargo Bag # RL100B90 Slip Off
As long as you install them properly the hooks # RL100605 will not slip off if you use them on the Rightline cargo box # RL100B90 with your 2016 Honda Odyssey. We haven't had any customers come back and have issues with these clips at all.

  • Best Way To Carry Cargo on a 2016 Honda Odyssey
I would love to help but none of the roof bags for a bare roof will work with a sliding rear door. Therefore, the Rightline Gear Sport 3 Rooftop Cargo Bag part # RL100S30 will not fit your 2016 Honda Odyssey unless you first install a roof rack like the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbar System which consists of part # RRVA126B-2, part # RRQMVA10, part # RRRTV168, and part # RRRLT600. The next best option which is also more cost effective would be to install a trailer hitch like the etrailer.com...

  • Hooks for Straps on Older Sears X-Cargo Rooftop Carrier
The best option which may work for replacing the hooks on your older Sears X-Cargo rooftop car carrier are the Replacement Car Clips for Rightline Gear Rooftop Cargo Bags # RL100600 (Quantity of 4) or # RL100605 (Quantity of 2). These are rubber-coated steel and do not have the lip like the hooks in your photo; these are by far the best option for you.

  • Accessory Needed to Install Rightline Gear Cargo Hatch Saddlebag to 2014 Ford Explorer
Glad that you found the product info useful! To answer your question, if your 2014 Ford Explorer has the front-to-back side rails but no crossbars that go side-to-side across the width of the vehicle then you would not technically have a roof rack, just the side rails. With that being the case, in order to use the Rightline Gear Cargo Hatch Saddlebag # RL100B90 you'd need to use the Car Clips for Rightline Cargo Hatch Saddlebag # RL100605; you can see this clip and how it attaches to a...

Actually, the Rightline Cargo Hatch Saddlebag # RL100B90 you were referring to will fit your 2011 Ford Edge thanks to the Rightline Car Clips # RL100605. These clips attach to a naked roof to allow the Rightline Saddlebag to fit on the rear of your vehicle. The Rightline Saddlebag has a carrying capacity of up to 13 cubic feet and a weight capacity of 100 lbs and features a 1-year warranty. The Rightline Saddlebag # RL100B90 is not vehicle specific so you can use it on your 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. If the vehicle does not have a roof rack or if it only has side rails that are not raised off the roof you will also need car clips # RL100605.

  • Car Clips for 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan with Naked Roof
I spoke with my contact at Rightline and she said the Rightline car clips for the Sport 2 cargo bag will not work with the Dodge Grand Caravan minivan with a naked roof because of the minivan's sliding side door. I do have a solution for you, however. I recommend the Rightline Cargo Hatch Saddlebag # RL100B90. • Will the Rightline Gear Cargo Hatch Saddlebag Part # RL100B90 Fit a 2011 Chevrolet HHR
The Rightline Gear Cargo Hatch Saddlebag part # RL100B90 is an extremely universal cargo bag for use on the back hatch of most suv's. They are not vehicle specific but after reviewing both the cargo bag and a 2011 Chevrolet HHR, I don't see any reason as to why they would not work with one another. The only thing I can think of is that you may lose a bit of visibility at the bottom portion of your rear window due to the size of the bag in comparison to the hatch. The bag includes a sack...

  • Carrying Cargo on the Roof, Rear Hatch, or Trailer Hitch on a 2011 Honda CR-V
Your best option for the 2011 Honda CR-V is to go with the Pulse L box, # TH615. It is shorter than the Force XL box by 8 inches and will not interfere with the hatch as much (though it is likely) or overhang the front as much. Both boxes will fit the AeroBlade Edge roof rack # TH7602-TH7602. Fit kit # THKIT3042 is also needed to install the rack on your CR-V. • Will the Rightline Saddlebag Fit a 2010 Honda Fit Sport with Rear Spoiler
I do not recommend using the Rightline Saddlebag, # RL100B90, on your 2010 Honda Fit Sport because of the spoiler and because the bag would block much of the rear visibility on the Fit. To carry cargo on the rear of the FIt you can install a trailer hitch, # C11064, and use a hitch mount cargo carrier, # C18110, with cargo bag # e98990, and stabilizer strap # 18050. • Will Rightline Cargo Hatch Saddlebag Fit a 2007 Chevy Malibu Maxx
Fit of the Rightline Cargo Hatch Saddlebag, # RL100B90, on your 2007 Chevy Malibu Maxx will most likely not be an issue since that vehicle has a similar shape at the back as some SUVs and crossover vehicles. But to be sure, the bag measures 40 inches across, 20 inches front to back, and 28 inches tall. You can compare these measurements to the available space on the back of the vehicle to make sure it will fit back there. The bag is made of vinyl and the straps have padded sections so...

To access the compartment for the license plate holder on the Rightline Cargo Hatch Saddlebag # RL100B90 that you referenced you will actually have to open the bag and look for the Velcro flap. This is on the inside to help prevent water from getting into the license plate area. • Will Water Leak Into a 2010 Nissan Rouge When Using a Roof Mount Cargo Bag for Bare Roofs
Even if you were to use a cargo bag that can install on a naked roof water should not be able to leak into the vehicle. The weather stripping on the inside of the doors should still prevent that from happening. I have not heard of any complaints yet of water getting in. This is because on many vehicles there is weather stripping on the door and on the door frame or body of the vehicle to create the best seal. If your 2010 Rogue does not have this double type of weatherstripping then I...

  • Will the Rightline Cargo Hatch Saddlebag Fit a Van with Rear Doors that Open to the Sides
Yes, the Rightline cargo hatch saddlebag, # RL100B90 should still work out well on a vehicle such as yours that has the barn door style rear doors and not a hatch. As it comes the bag would secure at the top using a roof rack. If no roof rack is available you would need to use Car Clips, # RL100605, to attach the top straps in the gap between the doors and roof. I have included a link to the manufacturers video review of the bag for you.
