Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be checking out the Roadmaster tow bar adapter ends. So these are gonna allow you to take your Roadmaster tow bar and pair it up with your Blue Ox baseplate. So what these adapters are going to allow you to do, and we see this quite often actually, is take your existing, or even new, Road Master tow bar and change the ends out to allow you to hook up to your Blue Ox baseplate. And like I said, we see it quite often. A lot of people will, you know, be experienced flat towers and have a Roadmaster tow bar that they really like and they wanna hold onto it.
Definitely understandable. It's a fairly large expense. But they end up getting another, or new vehicle to tow and went with the Blue Ox baseplate. That's the one they liked better. The only one that was available at the time or whatever the case may be.
So, you know, obviously that's gonna create an issue, right If the tow bar end doesn't match up with your baseplate you can't connect the two together. So this provides a solution without having to get a whole entire new tow bar or settle for a baseplate that you really don't like, or aren't too crazy about. So, the ends will simply just swap out, you know. There will be a bolt that you have to take out and little bit of work there, but I mean it's definitely doable and, you can take these and the pin and clip and line it right back up and be able to make that connection there. So these particular adapters are gonna work with a few of the Roadmaster tow bars, a lot of the common ones.
So if you have the Roadmaster Nighthawk, the Roadmaster Sterling, or the Black Hawk 2 All Terrain, these are going to be compatible with that. I do wanna mention though, check the serial number on your tow bar, because that does make a difference if these are gonna work or not, cause I'm assuming at some point they made a small change to the tow bar and that's why it's a good idea to check the serial number. So, just keep that in mind. As far as the functionality of it and the quality of construction, I mean, it's what you would expect from Roadmaster. They make really good products.
These things line up perfectly. They look nice and they have a good finish to 'em. And like I said, it's what you would expect. It looks like a high quality piece that you know is gonna work. Something I do wanna mention is people ask quite a bit about locking pins and things of that nature. And so if you're someone that wants to lock everything together, you can always replace these with some locking pins and that'll keep it secure. And really, regardless of the situation, nowadays a lot of these adapters are available. So let's say if it was the other way around, let's say if you had a Roadmaster baseplate and a Blue Ox tow bar and you're trying to pair the two together, there's adapters available for them as well. That'll kind of work the same way and allow everything to be compatible. So it's really convenient. I'm glad to see that these manufacturers, you know, realize that people, you know, use different brands of parts together and they want everything to work together. So, I'm glad to see that they put a lot of these out there and make it a little more convenient for people, you know. So at the end of the day, if you're someone with a Roadmaster tow bar that wants to hook up to a Blue Ox baseplate, a simple solution is available and save you a few bucks and some time as opposed to having to buy a whole new tow bar or completely change out your baseplate. They work is about all I can say. The finish or coating is peeling of and leaves a rough edge and I am sure will start to rust. Personally I prefer Roadmaster but it is what it is.
I received my brackets on time as promised and just what I needed to tow my Jeep, I haven't made a trip but have installed the brackets, I have included a photo.

I was a bit confused at first because the ad did not specifically mention the price was for two adapters. I called the toll free number and was assured ordering one item was for a set of two brackets and then I placed the order online. They arrived much faster then I expected and are exactly what I was after. Exceptional service and I will buy from them again.
Quality parts and excellent service
While I was traveling my tow bar decided to die it's a roadmaster so replaced it with a roadmaster hadto change the ends with the old ones as I needed to keep traveling so ordered these new ones nice fit good and know I'll get years of towing out of them and easy to change out since I did it once was easy the second time around good price an etrailer was on the ball with shipping as I'm on my way again thanks etrailer

Allowed adaptation Of Blue Ox brackets installed on 2015 Ford Fusion Energy(Plug in Hybrid) to function using my existing Roadmaster Sterling Tow Bar, saving the cost of a new system!

Talk about timing! Your e-mail comes just as I am ordering two new Tabs BX 62-3468 for my Sterling to Blue Ox Tow Assembly. The current tabs are bending and threatening to disengage from their sockets. Rather disconcerting, on reading some reviews others have had some types of failures of the tabs necessitating replacement. Other than some tight turn circumstances I have not had catastrophic stress placed on my system. My answer will be NOT to make tight turns! I appreciate your services and am pleased by your one year follow up. I remain your faithful customer.
Roadmaster Sterling to Blue Ox bracket adapters are well made and fit my tow bar perfectly. Etrailer is the place to go for towing equipment, their prices and customer service can't be beat.

The tow bar bracket adapters are very sturdy and fit properly between the Roadmaster tow bar and the Blue Ox base plate. Would be nice if the tow bar would come with the brackets instead of the crossbar, and having to purchase them separately.
Adapters to use a road master towbar with a blue ox base Plate. Very high quality easy install much better design than the blue ox baseplate and easier to connect to your vehicle.
I Needed an adapter between Blue Ox Base Plate and Roadmaster Tow Bar. Sam at etrailer identified the correct part. Shipping was as advertised and the Adapter was correct. Upgraded to RoadMaster towbar and performance has been outstanding. Fast and easy to connect and disconnect without the binding issues.
The RM 031-5 adapters did convert our existing Roadmaster Sterling tow bar to connect to our 2019 Ford Fusion Energi with its Blue Ox Base Plate, required because Roadmaster has yet (Dec 2018) to offer a base plate for the new 2019 Fusion Hybrids. Lacey of etrailer was very helpful in getting us the correct adapter after a different supplier had foolishly sent as a Roadmaster Hitch Lock (No. 315) that they had illustrated with the wrong photo, i.e. that of the 031-5 adater on their web page. Go Figure... Thank you Lacey for saving our up coming trip.
