Today we're gonna take a look at the Roadmaster Car Side Tow Bar Quick disconnects. Now these quick disconnects will allow for a nice quick, easy, one person connection and disconnection of your car mounted tow bar. These will attach to tow bar mounting base plates that are on your vehicle.The design of these quick disconnects are nice because they'll let you mount various towing accessories also, such as safety cables. Have the extra hole here that you can attach your safety cable to. The Guardian Rock Shield and the Tow Defender Deflector can also be attached to these disconnects.Now, this part number, this set is only includes the two car side components only. It does require the tow bar side quick disconnects to make the complete connection.
Those we do sell separately on our website. They're part number RM-221. I did happen to pull one just to show you what they look like. These would be for the tow bar side.And basically what they would do, is you just take your lynch pin out of here. You drop that through the hole down there over the pin in the top.
Take your lynch pin and slide it right back into place, and it'll hold it there. And then to remove it, just do the opposite. Very quick disconnecting and connect. But again, the tow bar side disconnects are sold separately.Now, everything on the table is included. It includes the two car side quick disconnects.
And they are a driver's side, they are marked, and a passenger side. The backing plates are included, four of the 1/2 inch bolts, four of the 1/2 inch washers, four of the 1/2 inch lock washers, and then four of the nuts, and then the two lynch pins which will hold the quick disconnects together. And it does come with a nice set of detailed instructions that will describe how this installs and how everything works.But that should do it for the review on the Roadmaster Car Side Tow Bar Quick Disconnects.

It working great easy of hookup to RV. (1300 mile) will have 5000 mile end when we’re done. Easy to install header on 2013 explorer the U-Tube was VERY HELPFUL

Easy to bolt on the brackets. Great fit with my old tow bar. These were bolted to the new EZ4 brackets. The tow bar brackets were easy to mount to my Grand Cherokee.. The kit was missing the poly pop rivets but they are being sent to me.

Bob G - 10/19/2014I have used my Roadmaster Stowmaster tow bar for over 20 years now. It's not as fancy as many of the new tow bars out there, but it is very reliable. When you buy an new or different car, you have to install base plates and these quick disconnects bolt to the base plates. You also have to install wiring for the lights. The base plates are built with quality steel. After using them for so long with no issues I recommend these base plates, and the Stowmaster Tow bar and base plates as well.
I purchased Roadmaster Quick-disconnects for my tow car....The product is exactly what I needed, but the most important part is the folks you get on the phone are ALWAYS know and understand their products, and are willing to assist you. My product arrived 40 hours later. We were able to leave the following day on our trip.

Tina C - 08/07/2017Exactly what I needed to connect my roadmaster falcon towbar to my 1997 jeep wrangler. I didn't want to use roadmaster base plate brackets that are made to attach to frame below bumper, so I made some custom 3" angle iron pieces that attach to frame above bumper and bolted these brackets to them. Stout mounting and didn't lose any ground clearance.

Parts were exactly what I needed and wanted to complete my towing package. Already installed them and everything is perfect! I was amazed at the fast response and speedy shipping.

I had purchased a Roadmaster Stowmaster tow bar and had purchased the base plate. The quick disconects were the only part missing to make them work together, and they did. Looking foreward to a summer on the road
I apologize at this time that I cannot give a full review on the product other than the fact that I did receive my stowmaster 5000 hitch receiver parts in a timely manner and I do thank your company for that. I have not had time to open the box yet as I am traveling and am not at my residence at this time. But again, thank you for your fast delivery of this product. I have used Stowmaster products for many years now and they are well built and strong and that is why I continue to use them.

Had trouble finding this individual part on the Internet until coming to etrailer. Even Roadmaster website seems to offer only assemblies.
Etrailer's search tools, drawings and photos provided me with enough identification to be pretty sure I was ordering correctly.
Received the correct part a day early, complete with all attachment hardware and complete instructions. We are very happy to have discovered etrailer.

The parts fit as described. Installation was not complicated, just took a while to complete. If you have average mechanical skills you can install the brackets. The pictures reall help.

Easy install and they work as they should....wish I'd have known when I ordered these that I should also have hotter the "RoadMaster Release Tool for Motor Home Mounted Tow Bars" Item RM-066.
When I went to Camping World they advised that the vehicle I had a base plate was not made. A check with goggle got me to etrailer.com. A quick call and to items were on the way and arrived ahead ps the time stated. The item are Roadmaster and just what I was looking for. Etrailer will be the first place I check for needs next time.
Manufacturer sent the tow bar quick disconnects w/o the backing plates and bolting materials. After contacting etrailer customer service, they jumped on it and quickly got the missing pieces shipped. This was not etrailer's oversight but they got it resolved promptly. Thanks etrailer!!
The car side quick disconnect brackets arrived quickly and are of quality construction. However, none of the bolts, washers, nuts or backing plates pictured in the ad were included. Cost another to get the necessary bolts.
