Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a quick look at the Roadmaster replacement LED display monitor for your BrakeMaster systems. This is going to be a replacement component for the supplemental braking system in your RV, and this is that little light that just helps to indicate that your brakes are being operated. So whenever this lights up, that'll let you know that somebody is hitting the brake or that the . not someone, but that your braking system is hitting the brake in your towed vehicle.So, I'm going to hook this up to power and grounds. We can take a look at what it looks like when it's illuminated.
My white wire goes to ground. Red wire goes to power. When I turn that on, my light comes on. After a while of this sitting on, it should start to beep as well, which lets you know that there's something that's laying on your brakes and that you need to go check it out. Something might've fallen or something's gone wrong and the brakes are staying pressed down all the way.
So that happens after a few minutes of that being illuminated, so we'll set that to the side for now.It also comes with a small little keeper, to keep that in place. There's two little kind of bump outs on either side of the light, so whenever you put this in place it kind of acts as a nut and keeps the tension on that. So this goes behind and then wherever this is mounted, that sticks out and that keeps it in place. So you actually have it like that with the sort of convex side going towards the surface to keep that tension on there. So if something happened to get marred somewhere along the way, maybe lost this piece or maybe lost this small keeper, this is going to be a direct replacement.
It fits for the BrakeMaster series supplemental braking systems, so that's going to be RM-9000, RM-9100, and RM-9060, and also RM-9160.It is going to be made in the USA. As far as our overall measurement, the light itself is about one and seven eighths inches, or one and three quarter inches long. The wiring is about six and a half inches long, so total it's six and a half inches long. The actual wiring itself is just about four and a half inches. Our small clip is about five eighths of an inch by a half inch.
Now, if you need any other parts for your supplemental braking system or for your flat tow system in general, we have a lot of options available here at etrailer.com. Because remember, your braking system is only one main component out of five that you'll need for a safe flat tow setup. The other four are going to be your diode wiring, your tow bar, your base plate, and your safety cables if your tow bar didn't already come with them. It takes about seven minutes for that to start beeping. Didn’t realized how critical this little LED light is, if you want to be alerted when the towed vehicle’s braking system has a problem. If you’re towing without it, you need to add one.

Could be cheaper solutions of led lights, but this works fine and is easy to install in a 5/16" hole. Only problem is that it doesn't come with the sticker that labels the light. Not sure why not. Mine was in a plastic bag and maybe it was missing the original label.

These little LED lights can be used for a variety of other things besides just a replacement bulb. Any circuit where you need to know if something is getting power.

Removing it from the dash just depends on how you got it in, but generally it is drilled into the dash, with the decal pressed over the hole, so you'd need to remove that to access it.
