Seems like it should greatly reduce debris on the front of my towed vehicle. Had to drill new holes in the rear arm per the instructions due to the wider spacing on my F150 tow brackets.
Product arrived quickly. It was well constructed. Watched the etrailer video and read through the instructions and started to install. The 2 3/8 by 1" bolts and nuts were missing otherwise I would have given it a 5 rating. Luckily I only live 1 mile from the hardware store so I went ahead and got 4 because they were only 35 cents each. Rest of installation went great and test drive was good looks like it should do the job. Ready for the trip and will follow up on performance.

Works Perfect. One 1200 mile round trip from SC to Florida and Two 2000 mile round trips to Michigan. No noticeable chips on the Wrangler. Easy to roll up and unroll for use.
Easy to install. Had to drill two holes to fit baseplate. Protected our toad very well.

Still doing great. No problems.
A little modifications were required to fit it in between the RV and the Jeep. The Winnebago Forza receiver hitch was recessed in close to the back cap, so I had to extend the tow bar out and use the pin hole near the end. Moved the flexible arms to the inside pockets of the defender. That tightened the fabric up just enough. Will have to fold the original pocket around and stitch it up to the underside to keep it off the rear cap, and exhaust pipe elbow.
For our RV the tire defender needs none hear sensitive materials or a way to pull it up on turns. We pulled into a campground and it hung to close to our muffler. Fleetwood has a long one. Melted the plastic screen. Otherwise it worked.
Great video for installation.
I love this product. We installed it on our Roadmaster Nighthawk towbar. The very first trip we took proved it's value. We towed our 2023 Equinox LT (AWD) through a section of road construction where they had just laid down aggregate and spray tar. I was really nervous that our white car was going to be covered in flecks of tar. But the Tow Defender did it's job... the car was almost spotless! Great job Roadmaster and etrailer!
The product works well and is constructed well. I gave it 4 stars because it mentions about being to close to the exhaust and causing damage to the fabric but doesn't talk about other possible concerns. I have a Tiffin 2018 Allegro Red motorhome. My ladder on the back of my motorhome interfered with proper operation of this part. My solution ending up being to cut off the lower section of my ladder. I have attached pictures so hopefully someone can see this as an issue before purchasing.
I purchased the Defender to protect our new Equinox during our trip to Alaska. I wasn't sure how it would hold up to all the gravel roads and construction typical of Alaska roads. I was extremely satisfied with its performance and ease of how quickly it attaches to the toad. We now use it everytime we tow.
I did have to modify the ladder on the motorhome because the lower loop rung hung below the level plane of the defender. It was an easy modification and worth the tradeoff for the Tow Defender.

Good as new! The durability is exceptional. We never tow without it.
We have towed our 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee over 15K miles behind our Class A motorhome in the past year. I'm happy to say that the tow defender did it's job well. Can't find a single rock chip on the jeep.

Im still very happy with the Tow Defender. Still no rock chips on my toad or the rear of our Class A. I am super pleased with this product.
Does a pretty good job for keeping rocks off the toad. Is pretty easy to install/uninstall. I like this product.
Over the past few years, I've ordered several items from etrailer. The purchasing process was very easy and timely. They're instructions and videos for installation are spot on! I will continue to buy from etrailer for my motorhome and towing needs,. I needed to customize the screen, simple drilled two new holes for my blue ox brakets.
We have so pleased with the screen. It has saved our car on numerous occasions. It takes a licking, but has held up well. We highly recommend it!

The product works as advertised. It is mostly simple to attach, although if the car isn’t square to the van it can be a little tricky to connect. There hasn’t been rock dings after a year and a half. The fabric shoes no signs of rips or tears.
The fabric is too short for my application. I had rig up some bungee cords to make it fit. My tow vehicle is a Dodge Ram truck. It fits now, but took a lot of effort to make it fit.
Installed it on our 2019 Chevy Equinox on the back of our 2004 Itasca Meridian and everything fit as it should, easy to assemble, I will need to install an 8 inch extension to my receiver hitch to provide clearance for the exhaust pipe, looks good confident it will keep debris off of our new car. Thank you for the great service and great products.

In the year since I purchased the defender we have traveled over 13000 miles from snow in the north to sand in the south west heavy rain in the mid west and our 2019 Chevy equinox shows no signs of damage. I do have some slight damage to the edge of the defender from the exhaust of the motor home but it doesnt cause any problem, it still rolls up when not in use. Very good product, I would not tow without it.
just what I need to protect my canyon
Fit perfectly.
Working as desired totally pleased
I received my order quickly after Amy got it entered. I look forward to installing it. Amy provides excellent customer service!
Works as advertised. Etrailer customer service is excellent.
Had to drill new holes to get it to line up to the towed mounting bracket otherwise install was easy. Once you get your method down on/off is a breeze. It must be working, no stone chips on the Jeep since I started using it and the bottom always has road grime on it. Would be nice if the straps for rolling it up when not in use were attached somehow (one less thing I have to keep track of). it would also be nice if there was some kind of loop sewed in mid point to clip the electric and air brake lines to.
I have not installed the Tow Defender because it would not fit my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee as advertised. Buried in the fine print is the requirement to buy an extension for my RV to keep the cloth from being too long, but also to measure and drill new holes in the toad mounting bar to match the lugs on my Blue Ox equipment. I would love to return it as it was never used, but Roadmaster won't take it back.
etrailer is great! Prompt, knowledgeable, courteous service. I received my order ahead of the projected delivery date. Jessica in Customer Service was especially helpful. I will definitely do business with etrailer again!
The product works as promised. No complaints with the product. My only complaint is that the directions are not clear. The directions are overly wordy and the pictures are small ad zoomed in. I ended up using the picture that showed the entire Tow Defender to help me figure out installation. It seemed that some steps were missed, like attaching the screen to the bars. Some of the confusion may be because the Tow Defender can be installed on different tow bars and different RVs. Better picture would be helpful.
Good product. No windshield chips or cracks since we started using it. Does get dirty so wear gloves when handling it. Was dumbfounded that Blue Ox tow bar with a Jeep Wrangler, perhaps the most common combo, required drilling. Roadmaster support was unaware too.

Doing great a year later. This deflector really has helped keep the road grime off the front of my F150 I tow. Definitely a must have to protect your tow.
