Today we're going to be taking a look at RoadMaster's BrakeMaster's Second RV Kit for Hydraulic Brakes. Part number RM-98300. This kit is going to allow you to install all the necessary components you need on your motor home side, for a second motor home, or maybe if you just need them as replacement parts for your motor home so you can use your BrakeMaster System in your towed vehicle. You'll receive your proportioning valve, which will tap into your brake line system. When it receives a signal, it will transfer that to the vehicle using the air compressor provided. It gets a hydraulic signal, converts to air, and sends it on. For an added safety measure the relay located on your proportioning valve will connect to ground as well as to your brake signal, deactivating that brake signal, either from your brake lamps or from your brake lights switch. In order to get air pressure, you'll receive an air compressor with your kit.
This air compressor here's what hooks between your cylinder and the port at the back of your motor home that connects to your RV. This is what delivers that air to your pedal to allow it to activate the BrakeMaster on your towed vehicle. To ensure long-lasting operation of your system, the compressor tank has a drain valve located on one side. This way you can drain out any moisture that may accumulate in it over the years.Located at the back of your RV, you'll have your air connection port. There's a dust cap, to keep out any dirt and debris.
You'll just remove that. You'll plug one end into your motor home, the other end goes to your vehicle, that's what supplies that air back to your towed vehicle. You also have a wire located here that was installed with your Second RV Kit. You'll take your wire from your towed vehicle. When you plug that in, that is the signal wire that illuminates the LED in the driver's compartment, letting you know that the brakes have been applied. As you can see, when I press the brake pedal it activates in our vehicle.
When the brakes activate in the vehicle, it signals our LED here inside of our motor home, letting us know that our brake pedal has been activated in the vehicle. That completes our look at RoadMaster's BrakeMaster's Second RV Kit for Hydraulic Brakes. Part number RM-98300.
Average Customer Rating: 4.4 out of 5 stars (5 Customer Reviews)
Adds the components to your motorhome that you need to use your BrakeMaster braking system. Made for with motorhomes that have hydraulic brakes. This is a five star product but am adjusting my review to 3 stars due to not enough blue or duplex power wire in the kit to finish the job. Fortunately, I found wire I had that will work. Waiting on the metric brake tee adapter for the 2013 Chevy chassis to finish the job.
Had to add the RV half of this braking system to a new RV, as other half was already on the Jeep. Had local RV maintainers do the work. Everything works great.
