Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the one bike add-on for the Rocky Mount split rail for 2" hitches, part number RKY1150. This one bike add-on allows you to expand your Rocky Mount split rail to carry 3 bikes. You can purchase a second to add on to carry up to 4 bikes. It shares the same design and features of your split rail 2 bike rack, so it will integrate seamlessly, giving you that "straight from the factory" look. Note, you are limited to a weight capacity of 120 pounds when carrying 3 bikes, and 160 pounds when you're carrying 4 bikes. Now that we've gone over some of the features of the add-on, let's go ahead and show you how it installs. We have our 2 bike split rail already installed.
Our first step is we're going to remove this end cap, here, by loosening up these two bolts at the end. It does come with the Allen tool to remove those. Then just insert it and turn to the left. Remove those, set them off to the side. Then, we'll start grabbing our parts for our extension. What you're going to do is, you're going to determine how many add-ons you're going to be putting on this.
Since we're going to be converting this into a 4 bike, we're going to line it up with that 4 mark, lining these 2 holes with those holes on the bar. Then, we'll take our shorter bolts and washers, insert them through. Just loosely tighten them up so the bar stays in place. The, we'll take again, our included Allen tool here and tighten them up the rest of the way. We'll repeat this on the other side as well.Next, we'll start our gasket.
Just kind of set that in place. Then, we'll get our addition piece and put the first one on. You want to make sure that it's aligned properly. The 2 holes that are closer together are going to go down first. Slide that on to our bars and into our gasket as well.
Then, we'll install 2 additional bolts on either side with the washers and tighten those down as well.Next, we'll come to our lever here. Pull out to pull this down. We're going to install our rails right here. We'll line up the holes, then grab our 4 bolts, install those in place. Use the included Allen tool and tighten them down. Give a couple decent turns to make sure everything's nice and tight in there. Before we place our final tray onto our bike rack here, we're going to have to switch this arm, here, and flip it to the other side to make sure it matches up with our actual rack. First, we need to remove 2 bolts on the inside, here. Next, we'll remove this Philips head screw here, at this end cap. Remove the cap, like so. Next, we'll loosen these two bolts here. Don't take them all the way out, just loosen them.Next, we're going to take this portion, flip it to the other side, as well as the hook, up here, and flip that to the other side. We'll start with the base here. We'll have to remove these 3 Allen head bolts with our tool. Once we have those removed, we'll just simply flip it to the other side. Just get it loosely tightened on one, and continue to do so for the others. Our next step is to remove these two bolts, to flip our hook to the other side. Now, we'll just reinstall our connections. Next, we can put our arm back into place. We'll take that center bolt that we removed. We'll reinstall that. Then, install our end cap here, with the screw. Tighten down these 2 screws. Finally, our wheel mounts portion. Finally, we can install our end cap back on, and the 2 bolts. Now, we're ready to load up our bikes and hit the road. There you have it for the one bike add-on for the Rocky Mount split rail for 2" hitches. Part number RKY1150.

This add-on lets you convert your RockyMounts SplitRail 2-bike carrier for 2" hitches into a 3-bike rack. The expansion slides into the spine of your SplitRail and adds a mounting location for a third bike. The extension is fine: it holds my bikes properly. However, when the lock cable is stowed, it doesn't always stay in place. There have been a few times when I found the lock cable dangling/swinging freely, such that it could hit my car. The main rack's lock cables haven't ever done this; only the add-on. Note that the release handle (for lowering/raising the back) does not get extended with this add-on, so it's a bit of a reach to get to the handle. Also the lock core will probably have a different key from the ones on the main rack.
Came in cracked and they sent out a new one as soon as I called...Great customer service.
Item came on time. Easy ordering and t racking.
