Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the SeaSucker vacuum pump seal lubrication gel. Now the SeaSucker vacuum mounts, they're designed to attach to a non-porous surface like your car or your boat and it gives you many different options for mounting items without having to drill holes. And the main part of the mount is the vacuum cup and the pump plunger. Now I happened to pull one of those right here, just to show what we're talking about. This is the vacuum cup.
This is the pump plunger right here, and this will apply vacuum to the surface and hold the mount in place. Now over time, if this pump right here will get dirty or it dries out, it can become jammed or sluggish and it'll not hold the vacuum, cause it to come loose from the surface. So what this lubrication gel's for, it'll help keep your SeaSucker vacuum pump seals from drying out. A dry pump will not hold the proper vacuum for an extended period. Now, this tube will contain about five grams of lubrication gel.
So what I wanted to show you is the way you would do it, is you take this plunger and you just pull this pump plunger straight out, just like that. You can see it removes it. And then what you'll wanna do is clean any dirt from inside the pump and then clean the plunger itself, also, clean this rubber gasket right here. And then we mentioned you take some of this gel, and you only need to use about a small BB-sized amount, and then lubricate this portion right here after you clean it, get that all lubricated, and then when you go to put it back in, all you do is insert it back in there and then push this all the way back in and you can see once it goes all the way in it'll latch in place and now you're ready to go again. That lubrication and cleaning it'll help us move much easier and the vacuum will work better for you.
