To install Stromberg Carlson's commercial rail, you must make sure that the rail's mounting blocks are positioned in front of a wall stud or the blocking behind the door. Anodized aluminum screws are provided, but rails should be bolted to the RV's wall studs for a snug fit.

This is a very sturdy hand rail. Easy to install. Worth the few extra dollars for the stainless steel and thicker tubing.
This handrail is great.It makes it much easier for my wife to get in and out of our motor home.It was easy to install and looks good.Very sturdy handrail.
Shipping was fast installation was very easy all the parts necessary to install was with the item

It’s working out great everybody that looks at it wish they had one I think it’s a great safety item for if you have stairs going up into your RV
The only problem we had was in this West Texas heat it got HOT. To eliminate this, I put a cover that helps grip and absorbs the heat so problem solved. I love the locks. I use the bottom lock as I can reach it standing on the ground. Locks match the door lock.
This product is well made and very sturdy. I would have given it a 5 star if it came with instructions. This handrail should aid my wife getting in and out of our motorhome, she had a stroke years ago and has a balance problem. The only thing I don't like is etrailer lowered the price $31 after I received my order, bad timing.
Having the extended handle helps

After a year I still really like the extended hand rail. It has made it a lot safer getting in the camper.
I just received my Solidsteps and stainless hand rail both products where easy to install and for me that was good look forward to many years of use

This is a lifesaver for older campers. I am able to reach the handle without reaching up so high. It also gives me much better grip to pull myself up the steps. Do not feel like I am going to loose my balance. Number 1 on my list.
Would have 5 stars,but did not receive keys or screws to secure plastic covers
etrailer is always quick with shipments, the handrail arrived a day earlier than estimated. It fit the original brackets on my 5th wheel, so no extra holes in the wall. If the original composite brackets don't withstand the additional leverage I can always convert to the brackets provided.

I installed this longer handrail because my wife had taken a fall with the old handrail. We really like the additional length. It is working great, still on the original composite brackets.
We don't actually use these on an RV, we use them in the garage. We've installed them next to the three step staircases that lead from the garage to the kitchen and from the garage to the back storage room. (We just installed them on one side of the stairs -- the same side as the door handles.) They are very solid since we were able to screw the mounting blocks into the studs for the doorways. It was nice not having to try to drive any anchors into the concrete floor since they mount on the wall as opposed to a traditional stair rail. We also like the idea that we can fold them out of the way if we need to get a large item through the door or any other time a traditional railing would get in the way.
It didn't have any instructions on how to assemble the brackets that bolt to the trailer . springs nuts washers with no instructions on how they went. I was able to use my original brackets after I ran my drill through the old bracket and new handle in position. It is a great addition to our trailer. It is really nessasry for 5th wheel with 4 steps.
Much more heavy duty than the aluminum and plastic hand rail that came on the RV. Out of the box, the mounts did not line up with the existing position on the RV wall. I squeezed the mounts toward each other about 3/4 inch and every thing lined up. The holes lined up with the two already in the RV, I drilled four more pilot holes and installed the screws. Mounted up solid! My only complaint is that the bolts that go thru the mounts to the thumb screws tend to slip against the stainless tubing when you tighten the thumb screws. I used a little super glue to secure the bolt heads, a machined recess would be nice out of the factory.
I am very happy with my new hand rail. I received it quickly from etrailer and put it on my 5th wheel. The original railing had 4 screws attaching it so I had to drill 4 additional holes. Everything needed was in kit. Very simple. The entire installation took less than 10 minutes. It works great with my 4 step entry. Looks great too.
Product functions as stated. I needed longer screws to secure it to my camper.

Working as it should. No issues.
I ordered two of these last year and mounted one outside the door and one inside the door of our motorhome. They are priceless! Because of these my 83 year old grandmother can travel in her motorhome with family again. She was having trouble getting in & out, until I installed these awesome grab bars. They installed very easily & securely, folds away perfectly when driving, excellent stainless steel durability, great design, can't recommend them enough. I am very happy with them to say the least. Giving the confidence & freedom of independence to travel again has been priceless to my grandmother & family.
Bought this for my mother who is elderly and my sister who has MS. They needed a hand rail that would fasten to the wall and could move out of the way when we needed to move something in and out the door. This worked perfectly! It is designed for a motor home or travel trailer, but worked perfectly in the garage of my mothers home. She did not want to drill holes in the concrete to mount a traditional rail so this worked great. I had to fasten a block to the wall because the mounting bracket was to wide for a standard stud. I mounted a block across 2 studs and mounted this to the blocks. Well made and fairly sturdy. Much sturdier than the aluminum and plastic block one on my travel trailer.
Was easy to install no drilling on our Montana 5th wheel ,same manufacturer as the original handrail so same screw hole pattern just unscrew old one and install. bingo done
Wife has put her stamp of approval on it as she is unsteady on her feet and this one has a longer extension so she is able to grasp it on her way up the stairs sooner
My wife recently had hip surgery and coming down the four steps from our Toy Hauler made her uneasy as the stock hand rail was not long enough.
Installed with ease in about 20 minutes.
4 of the 8 existing holes lined up but that was not an issue as the screws provided we self taping and long enough to provide a solid install.
Had my wife try exiting and re-entering the rig and she really likes this rail...feels very sold and safe.
Seems well build and looks great!

Also, I really appreciate the ease of the order process and followup by a rep with customer service...
The only thing so far that would make this even better would be a rubber grip the entire length...like what comes on the standard rail supplied by the OEM.
That said we have ordered some rubber wrapping from E-Trailer...
Fit perfect without drilling new holes. This handrail replaces an ITC unit that the plastic catch locks broke off of. The all aluminum brackets are a good upgrade.
Absolutely love this handrail for my trailer. It has created safety for my wife ,great grandkids as well as myself. It also looks great and make it easy to enter and exit my RV thanks and I would highly recommend this product
Great addition. Only problem was the hardware. Should have been stainless steel. The galvanized steel bolts react w/ alumimnium. Added a backing plate
This hand rail was even better quality than expected. Local rv dealers should learn to carry quality instead of the cheap stuff they might even sell some. This was even well priced for the quality. I will never need another one. My wife loves the better length access as well. Extremely pleased with all portions of the sale including follow up.
Well made and all of the parts were on the package. Free shipping was fast and it was well boxed, with no damage. I am actually using it in the residential setting. Has a lot of different applications besides travel trailers.
Perfect replacement for the original hand rail and gave the added length for the new steps.

The handrail is still working great.It still looks like new, no rust still shines. My wife uses it every time she goes in and out of the motor home.
