The folks at Etrailer were absolutely fantastic. Some of the parts I purchased were back ordered because of the global supply chain issues at the time, they asked me if I wanted a partial order now and the rest later or to wait and ship it all at once to save money on shipping. Since it was winter at the time I had no issue waiting. When the parts arrived they were all over it and sent them out right away.
A year later and my bike rack is still in great shape and working perfectly after a summer of hauling bikes all over Alberta.
I confidently recommend shopping here, good people and good quality items.
Purchased these as replacements for the original Swagman cradles. On the first trip out, I checked on the bikes and saw the twist handle had come completely off. This is so dangerous, as the bike is simply just sitting there on the cradle unsecured. The same thing occurred on the return trip for another newly purchased cradle. I never had this issue with the originals, now I've had it twice within weeks on the new ones. Waste of money.
I ordered 2 of these with locking knobs for axe & shovel mounts to my bedrack.
They work perfectly! I couldn't be more happier. They come with hardware to be mounted to a round diameter bar. I mounted mine to extruded aluminum rails. Nice and tidy.

The replacement cradle is sturdy and easy to install. The customer service is wonderful. I would recommend this product.
So I used the cradles to fix an older Yakima bike rack. No parts were available for the Yakima so I used the excellent website descriptions and details on etrailer to figure out that I could use these cradles to fix it.
I ordered two of these to hold a shovel and ax on the outside of my toy hauler. They are heavy duty and should do the job excellently. My only complaint is the optional locking knobs....somehow what should be simple has become complicated; you must keep the key turned in one direction while unscrewing the knob. The mechanism always springs back to being locked. I just want to turn the key one way for locked and the other for unlocked; I may just go back to the standard unlocking knobs if these prove to be a huge pain like my initial experience.
Used as et of these to build a custom bike rack for my Jeep JK Unlimited by welding 2" steel pipe to the top of my AEV spare tire carrier. Came out amazing.
I really appreciate that fact that etrailer goes out of their way to stock parts for older products. I just received replacement cradles and rubber pads for a 29 year old bike rack I have.
Really good for replacement on parts I was missing. The only issue is that this different than the older version. Also, the top piece needs to be re-engineered so it does not break when tightening.
This item was perfect for us. We bought our bike rack 8 years ago and thought that we would never find this part. Thank you for wonderful service.
Excellent replacement cradle, was much more sturdier than I thout it would be.

I think it is possible that the security cable in your photo could be working to loosen the knobs on top of your bike rack. Replacing the standard hand knobs with Locking Knobs # P1040 would prevent the cable from working the knobs loose.
