Hey, there Swagman owners. Today we're going to be taking a look at the replacement and grip arms for your Swagman XC or XTC series bike racks. They are available as just the short arm, if you're missing that, and just the long arm, if you're missing that, or you can get them as a pair if you're missing both arms. Now, the original arms on your Swagman bike racks are designed to be removable, which is convenient when loading your bikes, it's way easier, in my opinion, to take it off and have it out of the way when loading your bikes, but it creates a unique problem that other bike racks don't have wherein these are losable. You can take them off and leave them at the trail head or forget them at the park and then you're out of luck.If you've driven off without them or you've taken them off and misplaced them, you don't have to get a whole new bike rack. You can buy these replacement arms.
They're going to be identical replacements for your existing arms and they are going to work exactly the same. They've got the spring action lever here that's going to allow it to ratchet down into place one arm after the next. And they maintain all the same features as your previous ones, including the ability to pass a padlock through and lock them and the ratcheting mechanism so you can get a nice tight grip on your bike.So, whether you've lost them or you've had your bike rack for a significant amount of time and these are just getting rusty and hard to use, this is just a real easy solution for getting your bike rack back in working order so you can get back out there and enjoy hitting the trails. Love my Swagman XTC2 hitch rack for its versatility and stability. I can easily alternate combos of my 3 bikes and securely travel on and off road. My bikes and rack are locked to the van with the keyed hitch pin and cable option, allowing me to sleep in the van without worries. The entire unit can be removed from the van in seconds when not needed. I highly recommend this product.
I am happy I was able to replace this part of my bike rack, the alternative was a whole new rack, $300 vs $20...
The product was delivered promptly and exactly as ordered. Unfortunately we ordered the ratcheting arm for the wrong swagman bike rack.
I got the replacement hook for my bike rack in good time and condition.
Unfortunately it had to replace one I left on the roof of the car and forgot as my husband drove off and it fell off unnoticed till he was outside later that day and brought it in (squashed from being run over) saying does this look familiar! Oh no!!! Was my response and I went out looking for the other which I found still on the roof of the car!!!
