Today we're going to take a look at the replacement 1 1/4" and 2" shank for Swagman XTC-2 series bike carriers. This part will replace the 1 1/4" shank that's on your Swagman XTC-2 series bicycle rack. Basically, one end right here, you can see, will bolt to the bike rack. Has two threaded holes right here. The other end has a threaded hitch pin hole to attach this bike rack to your hitch. It does include the threaded hitch pin and clip to secure the bike rack to your trailer hitch receiver.
Now, it also comes with a adapter sleeve right here so that that bike carrier can be used with 2" trailer hitch receivers.It does require an Allen wrench for removal and installation of the sleeve on the shank. But just to show you how that sleeve goes on, what you would do is take this section. There's two holes. One's threaded, one's smaller. Just line this up, where the bolt goes in, with the smaller hole.
Make sure it goes through the hole. And then on the other side you'll take . At the very bottom, there's a threaded small hole that'll line up with the bolt. So once you get those two lined up just like that, then go ahead and start tightening that bolt down. And then again, use your Allen wrench.
Again, the Allen wrench is not included. You would have to supply that.Once you snug that down enough and you can see those two pieces will form the adapter sleeve that allow this to slide into a 2" x 2" hitch receiver opening. Again, the application for this is this works on the Swagman XTC-2 bike carrier for the 1 1/4" and 2" trailer hitches. That bike carrier is part number S64670. We do sell that separately on our website.
Now, the length of this, from the center of the hitch pin hole right here to the base of the rack is going to be right at 17" and the total rise when this is installed in your hitch, it'll rise . give you a 3" rise for your bike rack. But that should do it for the review on the replacement 1 1/4" and 2" shank for Swagman XTC-2 series bike carriers.

Great replacement for my Swagman XTC-2 bike rack. Makes it easy to switch between my 1 1/4" hitch on my Accord to the 2" hitch on my wife's Highlander. Good price too.
Original shank was bent after years using on a truck, would not fit car hitch. New shank was easy to replace and now works great with my car hitch. Very happy.

Fit the original bike rack like a glove. Took me a whopping 3 minutes to swap out the old one. Took me longer to find my 8mm Allen wrench. Higher quality than the original. Will do business again with etrailer again!

It was a perfect fit and I like the matte color better than the original. The only thing is that it is missing one hole for a security pin!
Perfect fit and easy to install. Apply thread lock to the two bolts that connect it to the main body of the rack and you’re good to go!
