Install your electric brake controller quickly and easily with this custom wiring adapter. Simply plug one end of the adapter into your brake controller and then plug the other end into the built-in harness beneath your 's dash.
Features:
This adapter plugs into the built-in connector beneath your vehicle's dashboard. To access this connector, first locate the instrument cluster finish panel in the center of you dash, near the driver's side. Carefully pry the panel out and undo the locking tabs to remove the panel. Plug the adaptor into the mating connector in the large gray housing behind the panel.
To install your electric brake controller you need to connect the wiring of the controller to your vehicle. Certain manufacturers offer pre-wired options, typically known as tow packages, wherein these wires are run for you from the dash to the trailer connector on the back of your vehicle. Often, a brake controller wiring harness is included with your tow package. This harness plugs into a port beneath your dash and connects to the four wires of the brake controller. If, however, you have a brake controller with a plug in place of the four loose wires, you can use the Tekonsha adapter.
This adapter requires no hardwiring. It is designed to plug directly into your electric brake controller for the simplest installation possible. Because there are no wires to connect, installation is not permanent. You can unplug and remove your brake controller at any time and securely stow it away.

Ordered a hydrastar actuator that hopefully will arrive mid May. Can’t say more until order complete, installed, and used. I can say this business has excellent service. Not my first nor last order, thanks folks.
This is my third truck using my prodigy brake controller with the plug in adapter. As in the past the wiring is heavy gauge to match vehicle & installed with ease. I used the prodigy mount bracket to take up space & slid it in factory controller slot. I can unplug it when not in use if I want & interior looks stock. I make a slot in back of dash compartment to feed adapter wire through for easy plug in & out. Product was revived quickly & ordering on etrailer site was a breeze. Would definitely recommend this plug & play adapter

Still working out great. Just to add to previous review I just wanted to add that another plus to the harness is that there is plenty of wire to reach factory plug.
Good quality and fits perfectly with my vehicle and the new brake controller. Trailer brakes work great with this controller and wiring harness.
Divine was very pleasant, funny, and most importantly knowledgeable and helpful when we were ordering our brake controller!!! Thank you Davine and we will check back whenever we need more parts or information on our 5th wheel and truck!
Received wiring harness today. Just finished installing the P3 brake controller with the harness. All appears well. A bit tricky working the screws with the mounting brackets but all else went fairly smoothly removing the dash trim plate and plugging the harness in. Video showing how to install helped immensely. I added a relay fuse to slot 9 and a fuse to slot 21 in fuse box in engine compartment on top of radiator for the 2009 F150. They came with towing package for truck.
I am very satisfied with the Brake Controller and Plug in Adapter. I had replaced 2 OEM brake controllers that kept causing issues. The last one partially worked and the Ford dealer couldn't give me an answer as to why even though the trailer brakes were working there was no readout on the dashboard. I am using the controller and adapter(#22292) on a 2016 Ford F-150, pulling our 24 ft. travel trailer. Thank You!
Worked great. Very easy to install.
I cut a hole in the back of the dash cubby hole to the right of the steering wheel for the wires to pass through and used adhesive velcro to mount the brake controller in the cubby. The brake controller is held with velcro on the bottom and the sides and does not vibrate or move at all.
Very easy install and the only hole I drilled was in the back of the cubby hole and the brake controller is very easy to reach for braking and adjusting.
I wanted to slide the controller further back in the cubby, but the velcro started sticking early and I left it. It could probably slide back another 1/2" to 3/4". Not much, but would be nicer. I may pull it out in the future to get it seated further back, but the velcro is really strong so I don't want to mess with it right now.
Arguably the quickest, easiest, and best upgrade I have ever added to my truck. It took less than 30 minutes to install and works better than I imagined. I'm very pleased with the unit!
The adaptor seems to be well built. Works like it is supposed to.
Good price. Excellent customer service. Speedy processing.
I will definitely be purchasing future upgrades/products from etrailer.
Thank you for your good service and kind customer rep. Hard to find good experiences like this nowadays.
I've included a picture of a Tekonsha Voyager that I installed in the area the OEM TBC would be. Its sturdy. It works. Too easy.

Just got back from a 1,100 mile trip. The Voyager TBC worked perfectly and the cable I ordered from etrailer.com was a perfect fit and performance.
Easy install on my 2010 F 150 XLT. There are 2 possible locations for the trailer wiring harness if your vehicle did not come equipped with the mfg brake control. Consult owners manual. My harness was located below steering colum behind lower dash. I routed my harness to the left side behind the parking brake release lever. You may have to remove the outer sleeve of the factory harness depening on your vehicle. Mounted the mounting bracket with double sided foam tape and predrilled holes before screwing in place. Mounted the Pod brake control and tested. 5 stars!
The Tekonsha wire adapter is a must if your installing an aftermarket brake controller I paired it with a Tekonsha brake controller. It is a simple plug and play don't have to worry about splicing wires great product
installed on a 2009 F-150 everything was as advertised. It was plug and play. My truck had the wire plug behind the dash so was easy to hook up. I installed it in the hole below the coin holder. To reach the pre-wired plug you have to remove the panel anyway. I don't like any wires showing or anything I might hit with my leg. So did not mount it on the lower dash. You have to pull the plastic box out to unplug the connector. So just cut off the back of the box off and run the connector through the hole and connect to the controller. This way you can remove the controller anytime you want. Also you can see the readout much easier then mounting it on the lower dash. See pics
Product installed exactly as described and in the videos. The wiring harness plugged right into the plug under my steering wheel. When I got my order confirmation they sent me a few videos on how to install just Incase I had any questions. Product works great and is super easy to use and adjust for my trailer. Highly recommended.
Changed tow vehicle and needed a new remote brake harness, etrailer had just what I needed. Shipping was fast and instructions were easy to follow.

The product works great. It fit well and went in easy.
Installed in 2018 F150 Raptor. The power was not available at the plug, and had to be added. See pictures. The video's where good help. I chose to use a 20 amp fuse, close to the battery, this gives less chance of a short, and I can remove the fuse, when I am not towing, to prevent battery drain.
The part number on line did not match the part I received, but it did work. Located of plug on truck did not match your video 2013 f150. Found because of a review posted by another customer of where to look. Behind spot where a factory control would have been mounted. Instead and works
Super quick shipping! Item was perfect for what I needed and exactly as described. This company made life easier with including all I needed for the installation! Thank you!
The adapter plug does not work called as well the plug is incorrect for ford f150. 2021

Often times with Ford vehicles, if there is no power getting to the fuses, it is likely that the relays in the fuse box are damaged or missing. You will need to contact your local Ford dealer in order to replace the missing or damaged fuse.
Part plugged right in 2011 f150xlt 3.5EB, you have to go under the dash and reach up and unclip the harness from where it is stored, it is not meant to plug into the exposed trapezoidal plug that is under the dash visible
THE WIRING HARNESS MADE THE CONNECTIONS A VERY SIMPLE PROCEDURE
This product does not work with 2021 F-150 or newer. They also charge you shipping to send it back after you find this out even though the website is incorrect. Not the first product I’ve bought here, but it is the last. Checking a forum I found where others had already discovered aftermarket controllers won’t work.
Unfortunately I didn’t find It until I tried looking up installation instructions because nothing on the 2021 F-150 matched what was in the instructions that came with the package OR etrailers instructional video. Nothing like blowing shipping costs both ways and wasting a week in the process.

Early 2021 model year F-150’s are not equipped with provisions to install an aftermarket trailer brake controller. If you wish to utilize a trailer brake controller, see the dealer to have a Ford Integrated Trailer Brake Controller installed. Ford expects the ability to add an Aftermarket Trailer Brake Controller to an F-150 vehicle will be available on vehicles built on or after August 2021. I have sent your information over to our customer service team to better assist you.
Installation was a breeze. Everything worked as it should.
Excellent product, plug and play!
As always great products super fast shipping I buy all my trailer needs from etrailr you will be glad you did to

Works fine, it’s a plug at each end connected by wires and hidden under the dash. Guaranteed not to rust, bust, or collect dust.
