Install your electric trailer brake controller quickly and easily with this custom wiring adapter. Simply plug one end of the adapter into your brake controller and then plug the other end into the built-in port in your vehicle.
Features:
This adapter plugs into the 5-pin connector on your vehicle's built-in brake control wiring harness. The harness is located underneath the dash, to the left of the steering column, taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal.
To install your electric brake controller you need to connect the wiring of the controller to your vehicle. Certain manufacturers offer pre-wired options, typically known as tow packages, wherein these wires are run for you from the dash to the trailer connector on the back of your vehicle. Often, a brake controller wiring harness is included with your tow package. This harness plugs into a port beneath your dash and connects to the four wires of the brake controller. If, however, you have a brake controller with a plug in place of the four loose wires, you can use the Tekonsha adapter.
This adapter requires no cutting or splicing of wires to install. It is designed to plug directly into your electric brake controller for the simplest installation possible. Because there is no hardwiring, installation is not permanent. You can unplug and remove your brake controller at any time and securely stow it away.

This was long enough to route across from the emergency brake to the center console. Grounded white wire to a bolt under the dash with a 10mm nut. Easy
After 1 year of flawless use I am very pleased with this wiring harness for my 2016 Toyota 4Runner. The installation was super simple and easy; plug and play. I would definitely purchase again for another vehicle.
Plug and play! I've had the same brake controller on several vehicles...get the correct harnest for your vehicle and easy peezy! Advice: Plan on how you're going to route your wire harnest first before mounting brackets.
Added this to my 4Runner to pull my motorcycle trailer. Easy to install works as expected. Very happy with product and etrailer, they will get my future business.
The wiring for the Tekonsha proportional brake control fit my 2016 4 Runner perfectly. Plus the videos that etrailer has showing where the plug in is under the dash made finding it a cinch.

The brake controller works very well and is a very good product. Ive been very pleased with it. We went on a long trip from South Carolina to Montana. On the way we stopped by Mount Rushmore. Were going up a steep grade almost 10. Coming down it was nice that I could adjust the controller For more brake power. Thank you so much
Plugged in to 2016 4Runner TE and Tekonsha Voyager brake controller. Works great. Easy install. Be sure to connect white ground lug to a good metal grounded location. Simple to install and price is great.

I haven't installed anything from my order just yet so i can't comment on the products just yet. I'm sure that these, like the others I've purchased over the years will do the job as advertised. This isn't my first time dealing with etrailer, so I'm not at all concerned with the job before me. Very few companies I've dealt with are as capable and competent as etrailer. Their customer service is second to none. Every employee I've spoken with has been well versed in the products as well as their uses and their installation. I highly recommend. Love these folks.

After a year still works perfectly!
Installed on a 2016 SR5 4Runner. Plugged right in, white wire with pre-crimped terminal loop made it a snap. Super easy install.

Been a year, still working great.
I ordered this product from Etrailer ( 3041-P). It is made very well and the instructions for plugging it into my 4Runner were spot on. I needed to confirm of fit and availability and talked to there customer service Rep Christina. I was delivered to my house in just a day or two.

I would highly recommend this brake controller to anyone. Used it many times and is very easy to adjust based on weight of trailer being towed.
Purchased Brake Controller and Wiring adapter. It was just as easy (or even easier) an installation than described. Dealer wanted about $150 to "wire" my brake installer. I noticed this product on-line and read reviews and decided to see if it really was what it said. It took my son around 10-15 minutes to get it mounted and ground. When plugged into trailer, it worked!!
When contacting Customer Service, I was very impressed.

Worked like a charm. Installed easily in 2014 4Runner & 1997 Chevy 2500. No problems, no hiccups, no glitches pulling a 7x20 12k flatbed. etrailer.com videos, specifically installation videos are very valuable and one reason I keep coming back to etrailer.com. The folks where I bought the trailer said I made a great choice with this controller. I couldn't agree more.
I have not installed the wiring harness yet but I found the connectors looks like it'll be a easy install a lot easier than a 2007 FJ cruiser installation.

Quick delivery. Video for install made it super easy. Everything installed and ready to go in less than an hour. Haven't had a chance to tow with it yet, but did hook up trailer and it controlled as expected. Seems like a good economical solution. RV dealer wanted $300-400. This cost me right about $100 with controller + custom harness.
Easy to install works great
Good unit, reliable. Display is hard to read and the form factor and mounting location results in a banged Knee from time to time. A longer wire harness would be good enabling a center console mount.

the electric brake controller was exactly as advertised haven't been able to try it out yet but it took about 10 minutes to install it it's very easy just watch their video have your tools ready and do it
