Install your electric brake controller quickly and easily with this custom wiring adapter. Simply plug one end of the adapter into your brake controller and then plug the other end into the built-in harness beneath your vehicle's dash.
Features:
This adapter plugs into the 5-pin connector on your vehicle's built-in brake control wiring harness. The harness is located underneath the dash, to the left of the steering column, taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal.
To install your electric brake controller you need to connect the wiring of the controller to your vehicle. Certain manufacturers offer pre-wired options, typically known as tow packages, wherein these wires are run for you from the dash to the trailer connector on the back of your vehicle. Often, a brake controller wiring harness is included with your tow package. This harness plugs into a port beneath your dash and connects to the four wires of the brake controller. If, however, you have a brake controller with a plug in place of the four loose wires, you can use the Tekonsha adapter.
This adapter requires no hardwiring. It is designed to plug directly into your electric brake controller for the simplest installation possible. Because there are no wires to connect, installation is not permanent. You can unplug and remove your brake controller at any time and securely stow it away.

I use my brake controller in two different vehicles so I needed a second wiring harness. This was as advertised, easy plug and play. My order was shipped and delivered quickly with no issue.
I haven't had this brake controller installed yet, but it looks like it's fairly straight forward and easy to do, even for someone that's not very mechanically inclined. We'll see how it goes. I received the brake controller device and the wiring device in minimum time, very quick to arrive!!

Came with everything I needed. Having videos on site is super helpful. Just need some videos on the newer vehicles to keep everything up to date but overall great site and excellent service.

I had the Primus IQ trailer braking system in my 2018 GMC pickup. When I traded it in and got a 2021 GMC I needed to update the wiring harness The unit worked fine but the harness was different. So I ordered a new direct connect harness and it was simple as plug and play! The Primus IQ braking system works absolutely perfectly as I said all I needed to do was update the harness and I was able to move the trailer braking system from the 2018 to the 2021 GMC pickup. The installation of the whole thing took a matter of minutes. Very impressed with the braking system as well as the information given to me from etrailer on how to do it. A technical support staff and front office folks are very attentive and educated on the products that they sell. I'm a return customer many times over and appreciate all they do.
the controller has great reviews, I got it because my factory controller wasn't working well with the new camper that has electric/hydraulic brakes and I was experiencing a 5 second lag for the trailer brakes to come on. this controller works better with a 2 to 3 second lag, need to try a couple different combos on settings, have the boost at 3 (per recommendations) and gain at 2.5 and under hard braking it locks up the trailer tires. going to try boost on 2 and bump up the gain and see if that works better.
The wiring adapter came 2 days early and was easy to install.

The brake controller is still working great after 1 year.
harness a little over priced. Could be a few inches longer.
Got it hooked up in no time very simple haven’t tried it yet I am sure it will be what I want good product
This wiring adapter works perfectly!!! Plug and play. I had one on my 2016 Silverado 1500 4x4. I got a new 2021 and this model required a different adapter. Etrailer had a great price and they got the adapter shipped to me quickly.
I took the plug that came with my 2019 Chevy PU and soldered the two pig tails together and they did not work. I finally ordered the new harness and it worked!
Thanks for all of your help with getting back on the road quickly! I could have saved a lot of time and bother getting this harness with the break controller. Once again thanks for helping with the trouble shooting. With etrailer you get a life person to talk to if you need. I communicated with email, and phone.
