You're Thule bike rack is designed to give you many years of good use. Here today, we're going to show you how you can make it last even longer with some replacement parts designed specifically for your Thule bike rack. Essentially, any part that's not the metal frame is replaceable. So if you find yourself missing a strap or a cradle, or even your anti-rattle bolt, we have a solution for you.So on our hitching post pro today, we're actually missing the end cap. So it's a great opportunity for me to show you what you're going to need to replace that. You're actually going to need two parts if it's a full replacement.
You'll need the end cap, and then the replacement screw. If your end cap is just cracked or something, you can just reuse your existing screws. Let's go over and take a look.So our end cap is actually missing and that can cause all sorts of problems. We can get rust and corrosion in there. But most annoyingly, when we go down the road, we get kind of a whistling sound off of it and that's no fun at all.
So I got my replacement cap and I can just put that in place. You can see it's going to be kind of loose until we bring in a replacement screw. Since we we're missing both, I went ahead and pick up both part numbers here at etrailer. You're just going on and get that lined up. And it's just a Phillips head screw once you get it lined up.
And tighten that on down and you're good to go.So you can see it matches our other side perfectly. We're back to normal here. Now, if you're curious if this is going to work with your Thule bike rack, it does fit Thule bike racks with one inch diameter tubes. So, that's definitely our hitching post pro, but also some of their trunk mounted bike racks as well.So just like that, I'm able to load my bike up again. And I saved myself several hundred dollars just by swapping out parts with my Thule replacement part here from etrailer.com..

I received the replacement Thule bike rack parts and they fit perfectly. The delivery was quick and items were as described, direct replacement, easy to install and very good price. Attached is picture of the replacement cradles and straps on the Thule Parkway carrier.

My Thule bikerack is over 30 years old. I had to order new endcaps for the bars that hold up the bike as the old endcaps had cracked and fallen off. The ones I ordered proved to be the correct ones for the 1 inch diameter bar. I could not, however, find the proper hitch pin to attach the rack to the new 2 inch hitch on my car as I needed a longer hitch pin than the original 30 year old threaded one for the car. My husband was able to drill out the threads on the bike rack so that a generic hitch pin could slide thru and could be locked instead of being threaded thru. The bike rack was spray painted black again and is now looking brand new!

When one of the rubber straps broke on my Thule bike rack I was worried that I wouldn't be able to find replacement parts. Well, not only did etrailer have all the parts I needed but they were very helpful with placing my order, reasonably priced and delivery was quick. Ended up replacing most of the cradles and straps and now I have a like new bike rack. Thanks etrailer.
Would have been excellent but no screw. To find a screw is going to require a trip to either a box store where you have to buy a package of screws when you only need one or Ace hardware where you can buy just one. The cap is exactly like the one that was there.

It is kind of a bummer that the screw does not come with the cap. We do have it on site as part # 853-5787-02 and I am added to the product page as a related part so that it is more visible.
A year later, they still work and I’m still happy with the purchase.

You guys are great! I called on a weekend about replacing fatigued & solar degraded rubber components on a 7-year-old Thule bike rack. Zack was extremely helpful; I even had to call back and order an additional part which was easily accomplished. And I had all the parts at my front door in 4 days.
