Replacement Tray for Thule T2 Hitch Mounted Bike Racks

Today we're going to be taking a look at the replacement front wheel cradle for the Thule T2 bike racks. One front wheel cradle's included. Now, this cradle will accept tires up to 3 inches wide, so it's going to be great for mountain bike tires, and it's going to have the groove in the center of it down below. That's going to be designed for road bike tires -- a little more thinner. It's going to hold those more securely in place. This will fit the TH916 and 917 racks. It's made from a durable plastic construction, impact and corrosion-resistant.
The mounting points on the unit are going to match up perfectly with those that are on the rack. Mounting hardware's not included, so you will need to pick up some mounting hardware or use your old mounting hardware. If you are in need of new mounting hardware, you can find everything you need right here at etrailer.com. Correct replacement, factory quality OEM part
PRICE is high for a piece of plastic.
I bought 2 of these tire cradles to make my own tadpole trike carrier instead of paying $xx.xx buying a purpose made one. It was easy. These fit my 24" x 2.32" knoby tires well, really keeps the trike in place even at freeway speeds. I am very glad I could buy these separately.

Hi Allan, Thanks for your feedback! This is a really cool idea and I definitely like it! I would suggest adding some weight to the lighter side of the cargo carrier to help counterbalance it. This would help keep the shank from twisting when hitting bumps on the road.

As advertised and appears well made.
2x the price on thules website. Also I needed the T2 pro wheel holder which is out of stock. You were happy to send a return label for sending it back, but are charing me 16 bucks for return shipping. I will buy from Amazon next time which has free returns.

I agree that the description page is a little sparse. Can you tell me what information that you would like to have seen?
Part worked great and I called Thule and they sent me some replacement bolts as the whole cradle was destroyed when our fifth wheel was knocked over in its side in a accident in California but the Thule bike rack survived except for one cradle. Did mot get a chance to reuse it as Covid kept traveling to a minimum this year.
This is "almost" bombproof. My first front cradle and rear tray lasted for so many years until I got rear ended by a drunk guy. His car sustained way more damage than mine. The rear of my Toyota Highlander was had barely a scratch thanks to the Thule Bike Rack I had on the back. Unfortunately. the accident took a big shark like bite out of the cradle. And the rear tray was damaged. The overall Thule T2 rack is still surprisingly intact. With etrailer stocking these replacement items, its as good as new to carry 2 bikes.
I expect this one to last for more years to come.
Replacement wheel cradle for my Thule T2 bike rack fit perfectly. Great service as well. A question I had regarding the part was answered very quickly, especially considering the minimal price of the part.
Parts fit perfect. I was told by Thule support that parts will not work. I have a Sportworks bike rack which was bought by Thule. Either their service people are not knowledgeable or just trying to sell me a new rack. In any case all work out fine.
I will be ordering soon to replace the rest of parts on my rack.

Exact replacement part for a Thule bike rack that is at least 12 years old. Didn't think I would be able to find it but these guys had it!
Exactly as advertised. It was back ordered (etrailer) so it took a little longer than normal. Nice wide valley for fat tires which tapers down for narrow tires. Plastic is robust enough so I don't think it will break easily.
I absolutely love this bike rack! My husband got it for us about a year ago and it has only been taken off my car twice! It is sturdy, super easy to use, and we feel our bikes are really safe on it. Recently my 17-year-old backed my car into a rock wall with the rack folded up. The wall did more damage to my car than the rack. We are replacing one of the cradles which was cracked from the impact; other than that it is fine! Great product! Thank you Thule!

When I first ordered this part, the incorrect part was sent. I contacted etrainer and received a very fast responses back from them, on a Sunday! They were very quick to correct their error and promptly sent the correct part which I have now received. We are all human and we all make mistakes, but I think the measure of how good they are is the way they atoned for the mistake and corrected it promptly. I will be using them again for sure.

Wheel tray... These each fit both of my spare Thule T2 trays, and these looked to have better molding cosmetics than the original 4 trays that came with my other T2 rack.
The wheel cradle did not come with attachment screws. Can I get two screws to anchor this wheel cradle?

Thule replacement parts are either available as full assemblies, or as individual parts. They do not kit things like trays and screws. The screws for this tray are available on our site. Check part 853599402.
