Designed for Thule ladder racks with 65" crossbars.Good to protect the cab roof of the truck while also giving a longer support area for what you are carrying. Especially good for the short bed of trucks these days. The side supports are a little overpowering visually though.
Hello Gearge, I haven’t used it yet due to life obstacles that have come up. Sorry, but I’m unable to fairly review it at this time but I’m sure it’ll do any job I ask of it.

It fit perfectly and has been useful for the longer pieces.
Great customer service - very helpful in making sure I ordered the right product for my Ford F150. Product arrived in less than a week. Communication from the folks at etrailer.com was amazing.
The rack was easy to install without the help of a second person. Looking forward to being able to haul long items for construction projects.
I have owned this for a year now installed on my 2023 Ford Ranger and works great added to my ladder rack. Would definitely purchase from etrailer again in the future.

I'm a carpenter, and I have to transport 100's of pounds of lumber all the time. This cantilever is not designed for that at all for two huge reasons:
1. The mount's for cantilever are such that the middle crossbar can no longer take 4' wide panel stock. So you just precluded yourself from carrying plywood and sheetrock. Bad choice.
2. The level of the cantilever ends up being about 1.5" higher than the middle crossbar. So you lumber stock is now riding on only the back crossbar and the cantilever. The middle crossbar has no weight on it. See photos. Silly bad.
In addition to that, I bought the recommended Thule rack, but it ended up having no tie cleats, making it extremely difficult (and dangerous) to secure a heavy loads.
Overall, I'm not at all please with this very expensive rack that cannot safely carry heavy loads, and cannot carry panel stock at all.
I really like the Thule rack and extension I bought. I haul my canoe or lumber on it. It has an 800 lb. Load rating. Nice and solid and attached easily.

I love the Thule rack. I haul my cane and lumber with it. It works great. I hauled metal roofing 82 miles with no issues. One dependable rack that is easy on and off.
Love this company, their products and more importantly their service. I am the owner of a small service company and roughly every year we add a new truck and we need to have it fitted with the trac-rac and cantilever system. For the first time ever my cantilever came but was missing the screws for install. Problem is I didn't get around to opening the box for about 2 months as we were smack dab in the middle of our busy season. My POC at etrailer Natalie took care of my issue immediately and boom, a couple days later all the screws that I was missing are here. This company truly knows and understands customer service. They have a customer for life and all of our purchases to fit our trucks will come only from etrailer. Thanks Natalie!

This with the racks are great for carrying long items. After a year of owning and using this I am glad I purchased the product. The cantilever extension does him at certain speeds. I just finished hauling steel pipe and angle iron. Lengths of 21 feet without an issue. Those pieces are longer than the truck. The cantilever extension is the reason why … it protects the cab and gives a greater length of support.
