We purchase the Trac-Rac system at least 2x's a year from them. The system is solid and the cantilever is vital when dealing with ladders longer than 28'. Every single employee I deal with is polite and professional. Shipments get delayed due to shortages, packages get damaged due to shipping, but this company for the last 6 years has always done right by us. The cantilever extension works great. Heavy duty, good quality and its aluminum (no rust). I have a GMC 2500HD and there is good clearance over the crew cab. I had to purchase this separately from the T-RAC Pro 2, which required replacement of some of the bolts on the T-RAC Pro, resulting in left-over parts and fittings. Thule quality + spare assembly parts = $$$, so I deduct a star.
After adding the extension to my Thule rack, I noticed a half inch lower
Height of the middle cross bar compared to the rear cross bar on my Silverado.
Only had a few weeks to check it out but so far it’s very sturdy and I’m very impressed with the product.
Perfect addition to my work truck
The cantilever worked very well and I am very happy with it. If it was even longer to fit more over the top of the truck it would be even better.
Working great. Hauling ladders and lumber longer than 8ft.
My truck has dealer installed Trac-Rac - nobody could tell me the exact model number though. The installed straightforward but breaking open the installed cross-bar took a little grunt on the screws as they have locktite on them. Once apart fitup went great but the alignment of the 3 cross-bars horizontally had the added extension cross-bar higher by about the thickness of the cross-bar. I pulled off the side extensions and flipped them `upside down' crossing sides. I filed the little indents and drilled the now bottom of the brace to receive the corner struts. Put them on and now the cross-bar is slightly lower. This is not a problem because I installed a wear strip over the top to makeup the slight lower elevation. Everything looks perfect, no one but me will know. But it did take about 3 hrs vs. an hour or so as purported. Thank you.
