I have a fork mount roof carrier and don't want to carry my wheel inside the car. This Thule wheel carrier is nicely designed, secure, and includes a cable lock (not mentioned in the video). I also purchased a thru-axle quick release for my bikes with disc brakes. This fits my factory Toyota aero roof rack perfectly.

Or you could use the Thule Front Wheel Carrier # TH98BV which will also mount to a roof rack and hold the front wheel of a bike.
