Randy: Hey guys, it's Randy here at etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at a strap winder from Titan Chain. This is something I really like. With these longer straps like this, these get 20, 25 27, 30 foot long. Just takes a lot of time doing it by hand. And if you've got five or six or seven or eight of these to do, it can take you quite a bit of time.
With this, it allows us to place it on there and just crank our handle here. It winds up our strap very quickly and very effectively. We just did this one. We'll do it again just so you can take a look, but I really like the idea of this. I think it's going to work out great in a lot of situations.
This is going to work with straps that are two inches wide, like what we have here, all the way up to four inches wide, so it should cover the range and most of the straps we've got. What I like to do, just keep my hand on each side of it as I'm rolling it. And we see it gets it nice and tidy for us. Don't have to worry about dragging it out too long. And that's basically a 30 foot strap that we've got rolled up there a lot quicker than what we could have if we we're doing it by hand. That's for sure.
As far as the construction of it, it's relatively lightweight, but for the job we're asking it to do, I think it's very sufficient. Got a black powder coat finish on it, so corrosion really shouldn't be an issue. We do have the ability to store it, so this is going come in two pieces here. That'll come off there so we can tuck this away in our trailer where we might need it. And then we can very quickly just bring it back out, get it reconnected, and while it does take a few seconds, I guess to get this put on the trailer, this time that you're going to save winding up several of these straps, it's well worth that short investment in time, I think for sure.As far as getting it installed, just have a nice little set screw here.
And it's going to work on steel that's going to be up to about five-eighths of an inch wide. So in most trailers it's going to bring it up around one of our rails, and just tighten that set screw down so it makes contact. And at that point it's going to be ready for use. Now as far as using the winder, I like to keep a little bit of a tag in there. If we start right at the end, we tend to roll that up, makes it difficult to get through your strap. So just place this on here, get it lined up there and just start winding it. See, it makes pretty quick work there. Save us a quite a bit of the aggravation that we typically get with winding these straps. This is my least favorite part about using long straps is that you got so much to wind up.If you're doing one or two straps, then maybe that's not the ideal situation, having to get it out. But if you get 10 or 12 of these holding down a bunch of hay, holding down a bunch of pallets or whatever it is, it makes very quick work of it. So overall, guys, if I'm being honest with you, I thought it was a gimmicky thing at first. I wanted to test it out and try it out, and see if it actually had benefit. But the way it rolls up these straps, the way they're really nice and tight like that, it's something I would definitely use pretty often. I think you will too.

Ordered from etrailer several times. Prompt shipping, good products, reasonable
prices. Will very likely do business with them again.
The price was right and it works great. Got it today and already used it. Winds up straps in a snap used for holding hay on trailer. Always hated winding straps by hand this is great.
Works as intended
