Shane: Hey everyone, Shane here with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the GlowStep pin lock. Under normal circumstances, your GlowSteps are just going to come with a safety pin so that while you're traveling your steps don't accidentally come pulling out. The lock is a Pin Lock, and what it's going to do is when you have your camper in storage or something like that, you can lock your steps and that'll keep anybody else from coming up folding them out, or anything else.It is also going to come with a nice dust cap, and it's going to help cover your lock to help protect it, keep any dirt debris or anything like that from getting inside. This can be installed on either side depending on which side you have your pin located. It's also going to come with two keys.
Simply slide the pin through, lock it into place, install your dust cover, and then your steps are secured.The lock itself is going to be a steel construction, it's going to have a nice grip on it so if your hands are wet, you're maybe trying to unlock your steps when it's raining, that makes it easy to grab onto it so you can turn the key. My overall thoughts on this lock, I think it's a nice, durable lock. As small as the pin pinhole is when we're comparing it to some other types of locks that we can get to fit in there. They're going to be pretty small, and they're probably going to be pretty easily breakable or pretty easy to break or get off. With this having a nice thick body, it's going to give you a little bit more security.
It's really going to deter someone from coming up and trying to steal your nice new steps. That's going to do it for a look at Torklift Pin Lock for Torklift GlowStep..

I've enjoyed having this lock for our RV's Torklift Glowsteps. It's pricey, but when the lock is in place, no one can extend the expensive steps, and the steps must be extended to install or remove them.
James B - 07/29/2021At first wasn’t sure how the 4 steps would work when Camper was off the truck. Called Torqlifts support line and Todd explained it would be like a ladder. Works excellent as a ladder off the truck and pulled completely out as steps while on the truck. Very satisfied with our purchase quality you’d expect built in the USA.

Wayne E - 04/11/2018It was shipped fast and I’m excited to have these locks I have wanted them for quite some time.
I haven't installed them yet, but the ForkLift Glowstep Revolution step assembly looks great. It arrived from etrailer 3 days after I ordered it. I'm looking forward to installing the steps on our Grand Design Reflection 303FPS so getting in and out will be more secure for my wife who just had surgery for a new hip. The unit feels and looks substantial and I'm sure it will be a great addition to our 5th wheel.
Works great! A little added security is always nice to have We don't worry as much about our expensive steps walking away!

I ordered two locks which came quickly and look as shown on the site. They feel strong and the key/tumbler works smoothly. The keys from one also worked in the other so did not have to rekey anything. Have not used them yet on our stairs.

Product works although fit is somewhat sloppy. Not sure of it's long term use (will the lock stop working?), but time will tell. For now it works, but would probably look for alternatives if needed in the future.

Susan - 03/28/2018It is what it is. It would be next to impossible to get a bolt cutter into the shaft of this thing so don't lose your keys.
Mainly the problem is rust. Plating not good. Lock still work.
Works great and is well made.
All parts I ordered are correct,boxed very nicely,no damage.
