What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out these replacement parts, it's gonna be a kit, for your TruXedo TruXport soft tonneau cover. So you're gonna get two caps for the front. You're gonna get the seals for the corners of your tonneau cover, and then even the screws that go with the caps up front. Let's check it out. The longer you have your tonneau cover, the more it's gonna wear down over time.
That's why these replacement kits are so important. That way you don't have to go buy a whole new tonneau cover, you can replace the parts that broke and carry on. For example, we had one of our seals pop off here on the back of the tonneau cover, so that's what these spares are gonna be. The smaller ones go towards the back or the tailgate of your truck. The bigger ones will be used up front as a seal by the bulkhead.
Have to clean off the spot with some rubbing alcohol just to make sure it's clean. We'll match it up and push it into place. Now you wanna do that for any of the other corners that are missing their seals. It's gonna work the same way up front. One of the corners is broken up front, all you do is remove this screw, you're gonna remove the broken piece.
Now we got the piece that's ready to be reinstalled and replaced, so we'll slide that in. I loosen the clamps on the rail, so you can move those over and get this started so we wanna push this in right there. You wanna line up the hole. That looks good there, now we'll push it in. They're alright there, and we'll add our screw.
It's a square bit. So you'll need one of those but then you can just tighten it down. With that screw tightened down, I would go back and adjust your clamps make sure everything's still sitting the same way but really is that easy. Overall, I like the fact you're gonna order the replacement parts for your tonneau cover and you don't have to get a whole new one. I like that I can order that kit. If something happened to the driver's side or passenger side cap, or I lost one of the screws up there and it came loose, I got the replacement part for it. If one of the pads starts to wear off over time and just completely come off, I got spares for it. I can replace 'em and it's like new again. Well, I think that does it. The caps fit inside the tonneau cover frame but strangely, the screws that came with it do not fit through the caps, nor do the original screws, even when putting pressure on them. I guess I'll have to drill the holes slightly larger than they are now. I wish they were made of metal instead of plastic, since that's why the original one's broke. I knew they were not metal when I purchased them.

Despite matching up product to vehicle, parts received were not exactly the same as original, Screw holes did not line up and extra adhesives pads sent which were un needed. expected better for over 30.00 paid for 2 plastic corner pieces.

Exactly the part I needed, didn’t think the weather proof pads were necessary, but turns out I was missing two so I just replaced all four corners. Installed in about 2-3 minutes, and my bed cover is good as new. Delivered in about 4 days.

The new fittings are much better quality than what was on the truck to begin with. The installer either used an off brand or the product has been improved dramatically. It was a fairly easy job but I am glad I had some help from a friend because without having ever done this before it takes two people.
