Video Transcript for Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vents Replacement Operator Knob and Screw Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Ventline replacement operator knob and screw, part number BVD0462-00. If your operator arm is no longer working, there's no need to replace the entire assembly. You can just replace the arm and knob. This is going to be a direct replacement for the operator arm and knob on your Ventline Ventadome, model numbers, V2092, V2094, 2119, and V2128. Since the V2119 is electric, the knob is not needed. This kit comes with everything you need to replace it. All you'll need is a Phillip's head screw driver.

I've got a Ventadome right here. Let's go ahead and show you how to do that. From the inside of your RV looking up, this is what you'll see. You'll first need to remove the screen. We've got these tabs that we'll just need to push in, and then it should come right on off.

Work our way around. We'll set that aside, and then we can remove our knob, so we'll take our Phillip's head screw driver. Once we've got the screw loose, we can just take the knob off. It just pops on off. Then we can remove the tray here. Now, on each end here, all we need to do is just push towards the center, and it pops right on off.

It's just held in place by some teeth on either side. Now you can either disconnect your wiring or leave it. We're going to set the tray aside. With our wiring and tray out of the way, let's go ahead and grab our Phillip's head screw driver again and start removing the arm assembly here. We'll just take out the two screws. Then, with both screws out, we can just lift it up and start pulling it out.

The slider's going to slide off the dome itself and then we can just pull it through. For our new operator arm, we're going to be reusing the mounting screws from our old arm. What we're going to do is we're going to insert the arm here into the opening here. I'm going to put it in there sideways and then push it through. I'm going to make sure that the slider catches on the slide of our dome just like that, and we'll finish putting it in place, then we'll reattach our screws. Before we tighten down one, let's go ahead and get the other one started. Get them nice and snug. With our tray wiring and screen back in place, we can go ahead and take our new knob and screw, we'll line it up with the grooves on the gear here, push it in place, and then tighten up our screw. Now we can test it out. Works perfectly. That's going to complete our look at the Ventline replacement operator knob and screw, part number BVD0462-00.

working just fine.

by:

The mechanism in the lift mechanism had failed in one of the roof vents my trailer. Couldn't lock the vent closed; when attempting to do so the mechanism would just click. Ordered this mechanism from etrailer, and it was a perfect replacement of the failed part. Took maybe 10 minutes to get the old one out and the new one it. Now the vent opens, closes, and locks closed, just like it should.

by:

Part arrived ahead of schedule! Having replaced the original part once before, I was able to r&r the bad part& new part in about ten minutes. So two replacements in two years and ten months should be a wake up call for the manufacturer!

It’s working as designed. The thing to remember is when you reach the limits of travel, STOP TRYING TO TURN IT MORE!

Very easy to order. Delivered in 4 days. Very happy my fan lid is working just fine.

Product is working fine!

by:

This was exactly what we needed. The wind stripped the gear inside the operator when it caught the vent on a recent trip. Our vent is motorized, so it was easy to just connect the unit to the existing motor gear (without using the provided knob).

by:

Very happy with the replacement

by:

Not a big fan of arm assembly with screw mechanism. Third one in 6 years. riveted side will push out and not allow arm to slide up. Poor manufacturing
of side rivets, doesn't last.

by:

Part arrived quick. Was easy to install and a year later is working fine. No complaints.

by:

Fit without modifications. Easy install and has been working well.

by:

after I went up and down my roof 5 times I got it installed

by:

Minor adjustment required to make it work...but did the job as desired.

by:

Worked like a charm

by:

Great service! The part was correct, it was delivered on schedule and installation was a breeze. It was extremely helpful to have instructions and a video online to review before attempting the repair.

Fast delivery. Part fit perfectly.

by:

As advertised. Part came in earlier than expected. Will definitely keep doing business!

by:

Our old vent operator's casing had split and was no longer able to lift and lower the vent, so we ordered a new replacement operator. It arrived on time and was very easy to install. The directions are clearly written. This immediately fixed the problem we had!

by:

Worked as a replacement for a different brand, called etrailer to verify that it would work and they confirmed. Great customer service, thank you. I was able to replace just the part instead of the whole vent, saved $$$!

by:

Replacement for either the manual or motorized version. The original operator became worn and wouldn’t hold the lid down on the road. This fixed the problem.

Works as designed

  • Replacement Motor/Operator Parts for a Ventline Ventadome V2119
The Replacement Gear Motor with Pinion Gear # BVB0601-00 is the correct replacement for the Ventline Ventadome roof vent model V2119. It sounds like you also need the Replacement Operator, Knob and Screw for Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vents # BVD0462-00, since yours is the powered version you will not use the knob and screw but would need the Replacement Plastic Gear for Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vent # BVD0121-00. • Replacement Operator for Ventline V2119 RV Roof Vent
According to my contact in the engineering department at Ventline, the cause of what you have going on is a damaged operator. The operator is the linkage between the motor and the vent lid. Look at the photo I've provided. If the housing around the operator is split at the seam indicated by the arrow in the photo, the operator is damaged and would need to be replaced using part # BVD0462-00. You won't need the knob and screw included with the operator because your vent has a powered lift.

  • Replacement Parts and Cover For Ventilne V2394 Roof Vent
I recommend using the MaxxAir II RV and Trailer Roof Vent Cover # MA76JR as it is easily removable allowing you to easily clean under the cover and check the sealant. If you are only needing a lid you will need either the Pre-2008 # BV0554-01 lid or the 2008 & Later # BVD0449-A01 depending on which hinge you have. The pre-2008 has a long metal hinge that runs almost the full length of the lid while the newer hinge has multiple tabs sticking out from the frame. You will need either the...

I do have some possible options for you but VD0434 is not the model number of the vent which is used for the identification of replacement parts, it's instead just the model number of the screen which is used on many different vents. The vent model number should be on a white sticker under the screen. I have attached a few options below based on what that number is. It's hard to say exactly what's wrong with your roof vent fan without physically inspecting it and all the components. That said, the fan not working is usually a motor issue so if you have power going to the motor but it still won't turn on then it will need to be replaced with the Replacement 12V DC Motor part # BVD0218-00.
