Hi, everyone. It's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today, we're looking at our replacement mounting jaw pads for your Yakima SpinVice clamps for your Yakima accessories here at etrailer. If you have a Yakima roof mounted accessory, whether it be a bike rack, a roof tent, or a kayak carrier like what we have here, if they have the SpinVice clamp, which goes around your crossbars, they use these mounting pads. So, over time, over some wear and tear, what may happen is these pads may wear down. You may lose them, you may pop them off as you travel around, and you'll need to replace them.
That's what these are for. So, these mounting pads are made of a hard rubber. So, what that's gonna do is that's gonna go inside your clamp and it's gonna help protect your crossbar as it wraps around it, but it's also gonna provide a little bit of extra traction, especially as you have out in the elements with rain coming down, you wanna make sure that that connection right there is durable. So, the replacement process is relatively simple. If you have the old piece on there, you just pop that off.
And then you get your replacement mounting pad, and you just line it up with those grooves and pop it right back on. Since it does come in a set of two, you may need to replace all four pads on a kayak carrier. So, you have one, two, three, four, as well as the other piece, so that's a total of eight. Now, if only two or one are damaged or missing, then this should be perfectly fine for your install process. So, this replacement pad works with Yakima roof mounted accessories.
What I have here on our crossbars is the Yakima JayLow kayak carrier. But also works on other accessories like what we have here which is the Yakima ShowDown. It also works on accessories like the DeckHand, the ForkChop, the SkyRise tent. Just check out our product pages here at etrailer to see if it the right fit for you. So, my final thoughts about these replacement pads is I do like how they are an exact replacement pad.
Now, make sure this works with your accessory. Like if you have the older version of a kayak carrier or if you have the newer version, you wanna make sure you get the correct replacement part for you. So, if you do have it, I really do like how quick and easy it is to replace. I also recommend picking up a couple extra just in case whenever anything happens, you're ready to replace it. And that was a look at our replacement mounting jaw pads for your Yakima accessories that have the SpinVice clamps here at etrailer. My name is Evangeline and I hope you enjoyed the journey..
