Hi, everyone. It's Evy Angeline here at etrailer. And today we're looking at your replacement mounting hardware knob for your Yakima Jaylow carrier here at etrailer. So if you have the Yakima Jaylow carrier, especially the newer one, which is the 2014 or newer edition, it's going to have this mounting knob right over here at the side. Now over the course of time, what may happen is after some wear and tear, this may break down or you may lose it. So you might be looking for a replacement mounting hardware knob like what we have right here.

It's the exact replacement piece, since you have that hard top for your knob, then you also have this middle piece for your locking system. And then you have your threaded bolt that fits right into your kayak here. Now this is super easy to replace. So let's take a look at that process. If you still have your original knob, you just spin it all the way until it loosens enough.

Now, what I do like about this system is it doesn't drop. You just have to loosen it until it releases from the clamp. So then once it's loosened, you can then pull it straight out. And if you notice the clamp over here doesn't fall off, then just place your replacement knob right into that hole. Line it up with your other clamp and then tighten it down.

Once that knob is tightened down, if you do happen to have the metal locking core from Yakima, just remember to lock that into place. And once that's done, you're done with the replacement process. So my personal thoughts about this replacement knob is I do like how it's an exact replacement. Now, I don't expect it to be breaking down anytime soon, due to how durable this whole system is. But if by any chance it does break down or you do happen to lose this knob.
