  According to Yakima, the Heavy Duty Shocks for Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer # Y08110 should only be used if you add the 78" crossmember kit # Y08111. They didn't have an exact reason for this, but it sounds like the concern is people will attempt to overload the trailer if they only add the heavy duty shocks.   I reached out to my contact at Yakima and they confirmed that the Heavy Duty Shocks for Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer # Y08110 will fit on the Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer - 66 inch # Y08106. However the 66 inch trailer is not able to carry more than 250 lbs unless you add the 78 inch crossmember kit # Y08111 which will allow you to carry up to 350 lbs. The 66 inch crossmember limits that trailer to 250 lbs.

  The heavy duty Rack and Roll shocks, part # Y08110, can only be used on 66 inch Rack and Roll if you upgrade it with the 78 inch crossmember kit. The crossmember kit is part # Y08111.   I spoke with my contact at Yakima and although the Round 78 Inch CrossBars, # Y00411, will fit on the Yakima 66 Inch Rack and Roll Trailer, # Y08106, with out the Crossmember Conversion Kit, # Y08111, we can not recommend doing this. Since the Yakima 66 Inch Rack and Roll Trailer, # Y08106, was not designed for the longer bars, the center of gravity would be altered which would increase the chance of turning over the trailer.
