This kit replaces a lost or damaged Control Key for your Yakima Same Key System. Control key allows you to insert or remove the lock cores of all your SKS locks and change them out to be keyed alike.

So you lost your key to your Yakima accessory. Well, what you're gonna need is the master key. If you have your accessory and it's locked you're gonna have to bring it to a locksmith for them to unlock it. But if it is unlocked like ours is today you take our control key right here and you stick it in and that core should come right out. And then you can just look on the side. It says A150, and then you can go on our website and grab a spare key.
And then once you get that number, order the key, you just go ahead and put this thing back in. You gotta find the right little spot, there's a little circle right here. We'll figure out where that's at, it's actually facing up. So once you get it lined up it just goes right in and we're good. And then you can take your new key and we are back in business.
So the key that you get with the accessory it's already cut. This is not going to remove the core. You will need the control key to pull it out. There's not a whole lot to this product but this is a necessity for those oopsie moments whenever you lose your keys. But just know we do have a solution for you.

These replacement keys work exactly as they should. No issues so far! The tutorial videos and information provided by etrailer.com were especially helpful.
I bought a Yakima Space Cadet cargo box at a garage sale for $20 but it did not have the keys. Bought the control key to remove the cores so I could find the code to get replacement keys. I could not believe how easy it was. Just insert the control key and the core pulls out.
They told me the key was going to be sent via UPS 2 day guarantee and offered to pay for half of the shipping cost since I placed a previous order. They charged me $13.93 (which they say was half of the shipping cost). I was suppose to receive it on Thursday but I got it on Friday. When I checked with UPS, they sent it UPS Ground. The CS states that there is such a thing as UPS Ground 2 Day. Thinking that they were doing a favor but instead ripped me off. Never doing business with them again.

Lost my original trailer pin lock due to my error. After looking for the correct lock, correct keying, and a control key, I ended up with three orders. Works as engineered. Was able to replace lock core with the right "matching" lock core to match all the locks on bike rack. One key does it all, rather than multiple keys.
Key worked to remove locks. Technician suggested that I buy the key. Well done.

Fine, no problems
The control didn’t work. Info I read said it might not. The key fit but would not unlock the Yakima swing out bike rack. I’ll have to try something else, not sure what before it gets expensive. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks

This control key will allow you to remove unlocked Yakima lock cores for replacement or to read the side of the lock core to get a key number. Unfortunately if the lock core is in the locked position the only way to remove the lock core is to drill it out and replace it with new Yakima lock cores such as part # Y07202 for a quantity of 2 or part # Y07204 for a quantity of 4.
Key worked great to replace my core loc ks.

So I cleverly lost one of those. I don't even know its name, just that I lost it. It's the lock that goes on the trailer hitch pin to prevent removing the bike rack. Easy to lose, but that's Yakima's fault, not etrailer's. I've dealt with etrailer before and have been completely happy, but I could not find this part on etrailer, just an entire kit. I emailed them and described what I needed and they got right back and said sure, and now it's got its own listing on our website, and gave me a link. They pointed me to the part, a new lock core and a master key. I ordered the parts, got a quick delivery, and the new lock core and rekeying was push pull click click. I am a happy customer!
I had been looking on the Yakima site and other bike-related sites for repair parts for my tray bike carrier. I've used e-Trailer for my trailer needs and know they are consistently excellent, so I tried them. I found ALL of the parts that I needed! i had lost the key to my Yakima car top carrier( which I had purchased used,earlier from an individual.
I like my Yakima car top carrier very much and would recommend it. It is sturdy and durable, easy to attach to the car and open from both sides for ease of loading and unloading. (However, I am currently unable to get one side to unlock)
Overall,very good quality. I would choose Yakima again as my preference for a car top carrier.
It allowed me to rekey my roof box to match my other Yakima products. Now I only need one key.

I had to order 2 control keys for my Yakima Lock sets (one for me and the other for my husband as we tend to lose things).
I received both keys super fast and both worked flawlessly.

Worked flawlessly on my daughter's Yakima cargo box. She lost her keys and the only way to find out what model number the core is is to remove it from the box to see what number is stamped on the side. Core popped out in about 1 second after inserting the control key. Worth its weight in gold and Etrailer was the cheapest place I found to order it from. We have ordered new keys from Etrailer as well.

Does what it's supposed to do. It allows you to remove Yakima lock cores so you can get all of your Yakima stuff on one key (same key system).
As always, etrailer.com was very easy to navigate and shipped the product quickly. I always have a good experience with these guys.
I ordered the Yakima replacement control key late one night. By 10:00 a.m. the next morning I had already received an email from George letting me know my key had shipped. The email included a tracking number so I could track the package. The key arrived within a few days and worked perfectly. I then ordered a couple of replacement keys for my Yakima cargo carrier and they should arrive within the next few days. Great job etrailer.com!
It came with the new locks and works as it should.
