This kit replaces a lost or damaged Control Key for your Yakima Same Key System. Control key allows you to insert or remove the lock cores of all your SKS locks and change them out to be keyed alike.

So you lost your key to your Yakima accessory. Well, what you're gonna need is the master key. If you have your accessory and it's locked you're gonna have to bring it to a locksmith for them to unlock it. But if it is unlocked like ours is today you take our control key right here and you stick it in and that core should come right out. And then you can just look on the side. It says A150, and then you can go on our website and grab a spare key.
And then once you get that number, order the key, you just go ahead and put this thing back in. You gotta find the right little spot, there's a little circle right here. We'll figure out where that's at, it's actually facing up. So once you get it lined up it just goes right in and we're good. And then you can take your new key and we are back in business.
So the key that you get with the accessory it's already cut. This is not going to remove the core. You will need the control key to pull it out. There's not a whole lot to this product but this is a necessity for those oopsie moments whenever you lose your keys. But just know we do have a solution for you.

Lost my original trailer pin lock due to my error. After looking for the correct lock, correct keying, and a control key, I ended up with three orders. Dianna at etrailer canceled the three orders, and saved me the shipping charges. Great service, the parts all work, and I got everything in less than a week. Great company and great service.
Works as engineered. Was able to replace lock core with the right "matching" lock core to match all the locks on bike rack. One key does it all, rather than multiple keys.

I bought a Yakima Space Cadet cargo box at a garage sale for $20 but it did not have the keys. Bought the control key to remove the cores so I could find the code to get replacement keys. I could not believe how easy it was. Just insert the control key and the core pulls out.
These replacement keys work exactly as they should. No issues so far! The tutorial videos and information provided by etrailer.com were especially helpful.

The control didn’t work. Info I read said it might not. The key fit but would not unlock the Yakima swing out bike rack. I’ll have to try something else, not sure what before it gets expensive. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks

This control key will allow you to remove unlocked Yakima lock cores for replacement or to read the side of the lock core to get a key number. Unfortunately if the lock core is in the locked position the only way to remove the lock core is to drill it out and replace it with new Yakima lock cores such as part # Y07202 for a quantity of 2 or part # Y07204 for a quantity of 4.

i had lost the key to my Yakima car top carrier( which I had purchased used,earlier from an individual.
I like my Yakima car top carrier very much and would recommend it. It is sturdy and durable, easy to attach to the car and open from both sides for ease of loading and unloading. (However, I am currently unable to get one side to unlock)
Overall,very good quality. I would choose Yakima again as my preference for a car top carrier.
So I cleverly lost one of those. I don't even know its name, just that I lost it. It's the lock that goes on the trailer hitch pin to prevent removing the bike rack. Easy to lose, but that's Yakima's fault, not etrailer's. I've dealt with etrailer before and have been completely happy, but I could not find this part on etrailer, just an entire kit. I emailed them and described what I needed and they got right back and said sure, and now it's got its own listing on our website, and gave me a link. They pointed me to the part, a new lock core and a master key. I ordered the parts, got a quick delivery, and the new lock core and rekeying was push pull click click. I am a happy customer!
I received the name of etrailer from a friend regarding my Yakima lock cores.
I had to order 2 control keys for my Yakima Lock sets (one for me and the other for my husband as we tend to lose things).
I received both keys super fast and both worked flawlessly.
