Solid enough, seems to only be able to slide through one way. I put it in the other way for a cleaner look but now it doesn't hold as well. I had to put a small bead of silicone to hold it in place.

Update a year later, working fine. Havent used it much but seems to be solid.

by:

Works perfect, no more wires hanging down and possibly getting damaged by the pavement. Easy install and tight fitting. Didn't require additional hardware of any kind.

Jorge G.

4/12/2023

Perfect, no issues and still tight to the hitch and bracket.

by:

Mounting Bracket very flimsy, and not holding 4-Pole Flat connector.
I had to use tie straps to hold connector in the bracket.

by:

This came shipped in several layers of plastic wrap along with the light kit, cap and small bracket. It was delivered with no damaga or scratches. It was fairly easy to install with the help of my son and a floor jack. we'll do the light kit installation another day. Everything lined up perfectly. We did remove the to plastic pins to make it easier to flex the plastic bumper. trim out of the way.

by:

The mounting bracket worked perfect with both the Draw-Tite hitch, 76128, and Curt Harness, C56370, that I mounted on my 2024 Honda CR-V EX FWD.

by:

Installation was easy and the video was helpful. However, I have found that the hole is slightly too small to keep the connector in and put the cap on. It works fine when connected to a trailer, but if I am not connected, I can't get the protective cap on.

I know that we have found that some harness brands do not work well with the bracket. Hopkins is one of those brands and I see that you had purchased a Hopkins wiring harness. It sounds like it is slipping out. If this is the case, I have heard that using electric tape to wrap about the connector to make it thicker helps.

by:

A bit awkward to install after the hitch is already on your car. I couldn’t tighten the nuts as much as I would have liked because the screws were also spinning. I suggest installing this before attaching the hitch to your car, if possible. It’s does its job tough and holds the electrical socket in place.

by:

This mounting bracket was the way to go when installing our Draw-Tite trailer hitch and T-One Wiring Harness on our 2020 Traverse. Bolted right on to the provided mounting plate on the hitch. Out of the way, yet easy access.

Actually this was for my Sister in law’s Traverse. Was easy to install and has been well hidden until recently when it was needed to install a wheel chair lift. Works great!

by:

I bought my entire package (tow hitch, wire harness and connector bracket from etrailer and could not be any more satisfied. Found 2 etrailer videos on line and every installation detail was shown. My only contribution was using edger string vice airline tubing to pull the harness up through the fenders. Great etrailer video for hitch installation as well. I was easily able to obtain my desired result.

by:

Easy to mount on the hitch and held the flat 4 connector very firmly.

by:

Bought this hitch along with the wiring harness and 4-pole mounting bracket. My mechanic installed and it's been working great! Hauling well anytime needed!!

by:

I ordered a hitch, wiring harness, and mounting bracket. Everything installed fairly easily and works great. All instructions where very clear.

by:

The 4-pole flat connector of the Curt T-Connector harness snaps very securely into the bracket. An easy reach when attacking the trailer plug. A nice finished look to the whole hitch installation. Proper wiring is so important for trailer safety, don't skimp on such a simple way to protect your hookup.

by:

This mounting bracket is just okay, but is certainly better than nothing. It doesn't hold the plug very well. I pushed the plug in far enough to get it seated correctly, but it still came back out when I plugged in the trailer. You have to push on both sides to get the connection properly. If you do that then it works fine. It is super simple which is good.

by:

Exactly as described. Holds the 4 flat connector perfectly.

by:

Extremely appreciative of the tech help I got from Phillip at etrailer
Knowledge was spot on with our vehicle and the products needed to install the hitch, wiring, and bracket.

by:

The bracket assembly was packaged inside a larger box containing the trailer hitch that I ordered. The hitch box was damaged and the bracket was missing on the original delivery. I called etrailer customer service and they sent replacements immediately. I would strongly suggest packing the smaller items in a separate box to eliminate this issue. The bracket met all expectations and was thicker then expected. Customer Service, Ordering, delivery, and communication were outstanding from etrailer.

This bracket is working out great for the 4-way flat connector. Holds the connector in place as advertised.

by:

Everything came as ordered. Everything was as described, and installation went off without a hitch …Pun intended

by:

The 18144 bracket will not work with Hopkins wiring harnesses. The 4-pole connector is too thick to fit this bracket. This part was recommended in the installation video.

Yes, it is true that Hopkins harnesses will not fit correctly into this bracket. For Hopkin harnesses I recommend part # BK4F. I also checked to make sure the bracket was not recommended in our videos for the Hopkin harnesses for a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan.

by:

Bolted easily to a "no drill" mounting bracket. The plug took a bit of coaxing to fit into the bracket but once in, it is very secure.

by:

The installation was very simple. I'm able to store the harness in a protective manner when not in use. All positive reults.

by:

I have purchased several items from etrailer in the past. Most recently, for my 2018 Jeep Wrangler. I installed the hitch, mounting bracket and wiring. All worked perfectly and the instructional videos and on line support are outstanding. I only think of etrailer when looking for trailer equipment. Thank you.

by:

This mounting bracket is a really good option to get on your trailer hitch to keep the flat 4 connector in 1 place instead of flopping around. Recommended.

working as designed.

by:

I was very impressed, when I received the trailer hitch and opened the box, all 3 items I had ordered for the hitch were in the box. I was able to finish the installation that day!!

  • Mounting Location Recommendation for a Mounting Bracket # 18144 on a Honda Pilot
We do not recommend you drill into the hitch to install the Mounting Bracket 4-Pole Flat # 18144. Typically you will install this bracket onto the bumper or rear fascia. Like you said, drilling into the hitch could potentially affect the structural integrity of the hitch. If you wanted to drill a pilot hole to use a starter hole to install the # 18144 you certainly could.

  • How Does the 4-Way Mounting Bracket Keep the Connector from Falling Out
The 4-Way connector just press fits into the bracket and keeps the connector secure. There are small ribs on the connector that help hold it in the bracket. The cap also goes around the connector to help secure the 4-way just in case it gets knocked out of the bracket.

  • Troubleshooting Parking Lights Not Working With 4-Way
Based on what you are describing this is a ground connection issue. Typically when one function is not working correctly you have a loose/bad ground. Make sure your ground connection is secure on a clean, bare-metal surface. If this does not solve the problem then the other thing I would check is the connections from your installation. I'm not sure what wiring harness you have, but you could unplug the connections and plug them back in to make sure they are seated securely. I have attached...

  • Will a Sierra Brand 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector Fit Tow Ready Mounting Bracket
Mounting bracket # 18144 fits most 4-Way flat trailer connectors. We don't have Sierra brand connectors so I can't test it. We do know that it will not work with Hopkins, Wesbar, TAP or Plug-N-Tow brand connectors. The worst case scenario would be that the connector is too large and you would have to file out the opening on the bracket a little.

  • Recommendation On Where To Attach Hitch Wiring Bracket To 2017 Range Rover Sport
I am not sure which 4-Pole bracket you have but most are similar in design and installation. The bracket should be installed in a sturdy location on the lower portion of the back bumper near or on the hitch. If on the hitch, do not attach by drilling but use something like a hose clamp because drilling will void most hitch warranties. • Harness Bracket Needed for 4-Way Trailer Connector
I recommend taking a look at your wiring harness to determine what brand of harness is installed on your vehicle. If the wiring harness on your vehicle is manufactured by Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Reese, Tow Ready or Valley, the Tow Ready Mounting Bracket, # 18144, will work for you. If your wiring harness was manufactured by a different company, please send me an email with that information and I will be happy to see if we have a bracket that will work for you.

The holes in the bracket have a diameter of 0.2 inches. All measurements were taken using digital calipers.
