This coupler features a simple-to-use latching mechanism known as the eZ-Latch. With this mechanism, hooking up is as easy as dropping the coupler over your trailer hitch ball. The latch does not need to be tugged or manually activated to allow the ball into the coupler socket, nor does it have to be secured in place. Just make sure that the coupler is properly lined up with the ball when you lower it, and the rest is automatic. Disengaging the coupler is just as effortless. Simply lift up the handle and the coupler socket will automatically release its grip on the ball.
The contoured, low-profile design of the latch handle helps protect the coupler from damage by allowing any potential hazards - from debris on the road to your ball mount backing into the coupler - to simply slide over the top. This helps prevent anything from getting under the latch handle and releasing the ball, and it can also limit any damage to the coupler should an impact occur
Unlike most couplers, which have a pin hole on the handle latch, the eZ-Latch coupler features a hole on the side of the coupler itself. Inserting a coupler lock through this hole will keep the latch from lifting, preventing disconnect and theft.

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Demco trailer coupler. This is gonna provide the connection point for your 2 5/16 inch hitch ball so that you can tow your trailer with your tow vehicle. This does have an easy latch mechanism that's going to ensure a nice, simple and secure hookup and disconnect. So rather than all the hassle that you ordinarily have to go through to get connected, this is going to allow you to hook up. With the latch in the closed position, you just drop the coupler over the hitch ball and the latch will snap into place and you've got a nice, solid connection onto your hitch ball there.
And then to disconnect, you just simply lift up that latch, and we'll pull right off. So very simple operation to make sure that you're gonna have a nice and secure connection. This is made in the USA of a cast steel construction, so it is gonna be very durable for you. It's gonna provide a weight capacity of 21,000 pounds and it is SAE J684 certified, so you can trust it is going to hold up well and do a good job for you. It does have this silver powder coat finish.
It's gonna offer excellent corrosion resistance. It has a 500 hour Salt Spray rating, so it is gonna be great for your marine applications if you're wanting to put it on your boat trailer and that sort of thing. The latch handle does have a nice, low profile design, and it is constructed of a durable polymer nylon resin composite. And so it is going to be corrosion proof and impact resistant, so it will hold up well as well. I'll give you a few measurements here.
So you can see our overall length, we're looking at just over eight inches, we'll call it 8 1/8 of an inch long. Our width is just shy of three inches. We'll say 2 7/8 of an inch wide. So this is going to very easily bolt into a three inch-wide adjustable channel bracket so that you can change your couplers height depending on the height of your trailer so that you can make sure your trailer's gonna be riding level. The channel bracket and the mounting hardware are sold separately.
You can find those both here at etrailer.com. We do also have the option, we've got this little pinhole here that is 3/8 of an inch diameter pinhole that you can pass a locking pin through if you want to lock this onto your ball and make sure that no one can come along and easily disconnect and take off with your trailer, that sort of thing. That 3/8 of an inch diameter lock pinhole, you will need a minimum span on your lock of three inches to clear that so that it will connect on either side of the coupler there. So just an idea for some extra security. Again, that is sold separately as well. And so you would have to purchase that here at etrailer if you're wanting to add in that extra security feature. But if you are looking for a very simple way to get your trailer connected to your 2 5/16 inch ball, then this is gonna be a great way to go. And that completes our look for today. Replacing a sloppy 21K pintle with this hitch, pintle came with a trailer I bought used so this will be a quiet replacement to pair with my B&W Tri-ball I bought a couple years ago with etrailer.

I borrowed a trailer last year equipped with the Demco and it was my first experiance with it and I loved it so I bought one.I like the release handle yea its plastic but honestly dont see how a person could break it but Im sure it will be done but not on my trailer
Also like the fact that it will latch with lever down It does have hole for safety pin which I bought from local trailer shop.I encourage anyone looking at these couplers to watch Demcos YT video
