This coupler features a simple-to-use latching mechanism known as the eZ-Latch. With this mechanism, hooking up is as easy as dropping the coupler over your trailer hitch ball. The latch does not need to be tugged or manually activated to allow the ball into the coupler socket, nor does it have to be secured in place. Just make sure that the coupler is properly lined up with the ball when you lower it, and the rest is automatic. Disengaging the coupler is just as effortless. Simply lift up the handle and the coupler socket will automatically release its grip on the ball.
The contoured, low-profile design of the latch handle helps protect the coupler from damage by allowing any potential hazards - from debris on the road to your ball mount backing into the coupler - to simply slide over the top. This helps prevent anything from getting under the latch handle and releasing the ball, and it can also limit any damage to the coupler should an impact occur
Unlike most couplers, which have a pin hole on the handle latch, the eZ-Latch coupler features a hole on the side of the coupler itself. Inserting a coupler lock through this hole will keep the latch from lifting, preventing disconnect and theft.
Made of sturdy steel, this coupler features a durable silver powder coat finish that is designed to limit rust and corrosion. This finish has a 500-hour salt spray rating, making the coupler perfect for marine use.
The eZ-Latch's sleek, ergonomically designed handle is constructed of an impact-resistant polymer-nylon-resin compound that provides the flexibility and strength needed to bounce back from a collision. Today we're going to be taking a look at part number DM14040-52. This is the Demco channel bracket trailer coupler. It's designed for 2 and 5/16 inch hitch balls. This coupler is made of a study steel construction, has a really nice silver powder coat finished on it to resist rust and corrosion and it's got the easy latch mechanism that's going to ensure fast, easy, secure hookup and disconnect. The adjustable channel bracket and mounting hardware are sold separately. Now this coupler is going to let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. It's going to provide the connection point for your hitch ball and it has the easy latch coupler mechanism with the corrosion proof composite latch handle.
It's going to ensure simple, secure hookup, and disconnect. It's very strong and very durable and the contour is really nice around the front of the coupler giving it a nice sleek, clean look. Now the easy latch design is going to let you hook up when the latch is in a close position. You can do that with the latch open as well but the beauty of this system is that you can do it with the latch closed. All you have to do is drop the coupler over the hitch ball and the latch will automatically snap into place engaging the hitch ball. Disengaging is just as easy.
All you got to do is look up on the lever and it's going to automatically release its grip on the ball. The neat about an adjustable channel mounting design is it's going to let you change the coupler's height depending on your application. These holes are going to have a diameter of 5-8/7 inch and it's going to have a hole separation measuring from the center of one hole to the center of the other. Looks to be right at 2 inches. Again sturdy steel construction. This is going to feature a 500-hour salt spray rating so it's going to be great for marine applications. Ball size is 2 and 5-16 of an inch.
It's going to offer 21,000 pounds when it comes to weight capacity. Taken measurement back here outside edge to outside edge, it's going to measure just under 3 inches so it's going to allow this coupler to slide into a 3-inch wired channel bracket. Again sold separately, you can find those here on the website. Overall length from very front to very back, that's going to give us a measurement, looks to be about 8 and 1/8 of an inch. Last thing I want to point out is here on each side at the front of the coupler you're going to notice a small hole. On the top of the easy latch design, it says that the 5/16 inch hole.
It's on the side of the coupler and it's designed for theft determent only. What that means is you can actually install a coupler pen and lock and that's going to make sure that nobody comes and hooks up to your unattended trailer. You can also install a coupler pen and lock when this is connected to your hitch ball or to your application. That's going to ensure safety. It's going to make sure that nobody comes up and removes the trailer from your set up and connects it to theirs. Again the diameter of that hole is going to measure 5/16 of an inch and in the span measuring from outside edge to outside edge, it's going to measure about 3 inches. That's going to do it for our review of part number DM14040-52. This is the Demco channel bracket trailer coupler for 2 and 5/16 inch hitch balls. .

Very solid hitch. Fast shipping. Fits well except your trailer channels need to nearly come to a point for the first set of holes to have anything to bolt to. Mine did not, so I am having it welded on as well. No paperwork or hardware with this package, but the video will answer most all questions.

I don’t really want to write a review, hope someone will really read this.the main reason I ordered a bolt on coupling is so I would not have to weld, but I’m gonna have to even add 2in.to my trailer to make all the holes match. I would have returned it but your return policy says I would have to pay shipping ugg!!. I’m already in for 140.00 bucks now I have to pay and end up with nothing but lost of money for nothing. I’m 74 years old and did not want to weld , that was my only reason for ordering your coupling .the thing had some scratches and marks on it like it had already been a return, don’t think it was done during shipping, although it was put in a fairly large box with flimsy paper packing, so I’m going to have to make it work,even have to weld and everything. Now I’m having to waste time writing all of this , and it’s not going to even make any difference anyway. I think y’all owe me some kind of discount for all my troubles I was trying to avoid anyway, but I’m sure that is not going to happen either. GOD BLESS THOMAS OLIVER

love these couplers ! they are the best and are easy to open up and when they are pulled up you know it is disconnected !! the best !
I was a little disappointed when I opened the box yesterday and found that there was no keeper pin with the couplers now I have to go to town and find the right size ! I was thinking it would come with one ! should have a option to buy the correct one or just send one with !! thanks

I like the 4 bolt system rather than the 2 bolt system because it "mates" the two metal surfaces together better than 2 long bolt design. The way in which its tightened is better. Plus if you have 1 of 4 bolts break you can still safety tow it. If 1 of 2 bolts break you're flirting with disaster. 21k coupler on a 10k trailer. Heavier and better design than my original Made in China coupler.

This is the best hitch on the market! I've changed over all 4 of my trailers to this hitch. Simple hook/unhook, releases off the ball smooth, no pins to mess with. The included steel bracket (product #DM6125-81) is super heavy duty & so is the hitch itself, plenty heavy for any 2 5/16" trailer. I hacked off my existing hitches w a cutoff saw, welded a plate then the bracket and did each of my trailers , w paint, in less than an hour.

Installed this AWESOME hitch on my 20 ft equipment trailer after I upgraded to 8k axles. This hitch is a beast. I love the no touch when hooking up. Just lower the trailer down and it makes a positive lock sound. I welded the hitch to a 1/2 inch thick plate. Welded the plate onto the trailer and used my own gussets instead of the supplied ones. You won’t go wrong with this hitch!

My old coupler was pretty used up and rated at only 5000 lbs for a 10,000 lb trailer so it had to go.
The new bolt-on 10,000 lb coupler is quality. I like the EZ latch because its smooth, self latching and easy. The job was about four hours including removing old coupler, welding some new channel in and drilling holes. New coupler looks good, works great, and trailer is safer.

Absolutely Great coupler! I have 3 trailer's with 3 different hitches. These Demco unit's are so simple and so easy to operate. I just bought a new equipment trailer last week and I struggled to get that coupler on (so did the dealer) so I ordered 2 of these to make my life easy. I now have 1 for a spare or parts if needed. Highly recommend one if you have any issue's with your current coupler. YES, they are worth it..... I'd give these more than 5 stars if I could.

When my old coupler failed I was very happy to find a bolt on coupler this heavy as most are weld on for a trailer this heavy. I wish I would have changed the coupler years ago. I always had trouble with the old one. This one is so easy to latch and unlatch from my truck. It is great quality.

Awesome coupler. You cannot forget to lick in your hitch ball with this. It automatically locks in place when you drop it on the ball and the flip latch is easy to release the ball when unhooking. There is a reason Airstream has this on all their new travel trailers

this was an effective solution to a bent trailer coupler and twisted frame. i did add
welds and a piece of channel to the frame before i bolted it down. 4 stars because i had to hunt around for a lock long enough to go thru the hole in the
front. definitely recommend if you have a difficult repair on a trailer coupler.
