This coupler features a simple-to-use latching mechanism known as the eZ-Latch. With this mechanism, hooking up is as easy as dropping the coupler over your trailer hitch ball. The latch does not need to be tugged or manually activated to allow the ball into the coupler socket, nor does it have to be secured in place. Just make sure that the coupler is properly lined up with the ball when you lower it, and the rest is automatic. Disengaging the coupler is just as effortless. Simply lift up the handle and the coupler socket will automatically release its grip on the ball.
The contoured, low-profile design of the latch handle helps protect the coupler from damage by allowing any potential hazards - from debris on the road to your ball mount backing into the coupler - to simply slide over the top. This helps prevent anything from getting under the latch handle and releasing the ball, and it can also limit any damage to the coupler should an impact occur
Unlike most couplers, which have a pin hole on the handle latch, the eZ-Latch coupler features a hole on the side of the coupler itself. Inserting a coupler lock through this hole will keep the latch from lifting, preventing disconnect and theft.
Made of sturdy steel, this coupler features a durable powder coat primed paint finish that is designed to limit rust and corrosion. This finish has a 500-hour salt spray rating, making the coupler perfect for marine use.
The eZ-Latch's sleek, ergonomically designed handle is constructed of an impact-resistant polymer-nylon-resin compound that provides the flexibility and strength needed to bounce back from a collision. Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today I'm gonna take a look at this Demco eZ-Latch adjustable channel trailer coupler for a 2 5/16 ball. Has a 21,000 pound capacity and a primed paint finish to it. Now this is a cast ball coupler. This will let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. Does provide the connection point right here for your 2 5/16 inch diameter hitch ball.
And what's nice on this one, this one uses the eZ-Latch mechanism, has a nice corrosion proof composite latch handle on it, which ensures a nice, simple, secure hookup and disconnect. And what's nice about this, you can hook it up when the latch is in the closed position. You don't have to constantly open it up, close it. This you can just leave it as it is and then when you go to install it, you just drop the coupler over the hitch ball and the latch will snap into place onto the ball. Just to demonstrate that I happen to pull a 2 5/16 diameter hitch ball.
So you can see when you put it on there and just push down. (metal clinking) Once it goes far enough, the latch pops into place and it's locked to the ball. To remove it, just lift the latch all the way up and you can move it, just that simple. And when you're ready to go again, again, just put it over the ball, drop it into place and you're ready to go. Gives you nice, sleek, low profile design so it allows any hazards that might slip over it to just slide over there, don't cause any damage.
Some of your couplers that have the tall trigger latch design, something could hit that and bend them or damage it and prevent you from opening it, so this way everything will just slide right over it. And also unlike most couplers, that have the tall trigger latch on it, the coupler lock goes through the pin hole at the top and same way that could be damaged or not straight. This one, if you notice, has the hole here. It's a 5/16 diameter hole that goes all the way through. That's where you'll put your coupler lock.
Now the coupler lock is not included, we do sell that separately. We mentioned it's a 5/16 diameter hole and once you put it through there, it'll keep the latch from lifting, sort of prevent a disconnect and theft. The minimum span you want to get for a coupler lock that'll fit all the way through here is 2 7/8 inches. Now this is a nice sturdy steel construction. Has a nice prime paint finish on it to offer excellent corrosion resistance. Does meet a 500 hour salt spray rating, so it's great for marine applications. And this is a bolt on installation. You can see the holes back here. Application this is designed to fit into a three inch wide channel bracket and then you just slide it up or down that, put your bolts through there and let you change the coupler's height, depending on the application you need it for. Now this channel bracket and the mounting hardware is not included. We sell that separately. When you do install this, does require a 5/8 inch diameter grade five bolts to install this to the channel. Again, the ball size this fits 2 5/16 diameter. Weight capacity is 21,000 pounds. Few dimensions on this. The overall length from front to back, it's gonna be right at 8 1/8 inches long. The width 2 7/8 inches wide. Now the holes here that go on the channel mount, the distance between those two holes they're gonna be right at two inches. Oops. Yeah, two inches. And then the ball hole diameter we mentioned is 5/8 of an inch. But that should do it for the review on the Demco eZ-Latch adjustable channel trailer coupler for the 2 5/16 inch ball, has a 21,000 pound weight capacity.

It is the best used yo have a the older style i was always worried if it had latched correctly but with this latch system I dont have to do anything i dont even have to see it i can just hear it click when its latching on its own and i know its right dont forget to buy the pin for it i have actually bought two one for each of my trailers
Excellent coupler, very heavy duty, easy hook up and unhook, definitely recommend if you need a trailer coupler.

Absolutely Great coupler! I have 3 trailer's with 3 different hitches. These Demco unit's are so simple and so easy to operate. I just bought a new equipment trailer last week and I struggled to get that coupler on (so did the dealer) so I ordered 2 of these to make my life easy. I now have 1 for a spare or parts if needed. Highly recommend one if you have any issue's with your current coupler. YES, they are worth it..... I'd give these more than 5 stars if I could.
The red coupler I ordered was delivered today dut it is gray in color this will not work for my application. We will see how the return of this coupler goes.
they did not include a lock pin. Curt always does. it would have been 5 stars if it had a lock pin. that's going to be hard to find in my area.

These couplers are great, automatic latching helps when the kids help hook up they often forgot to lock the latch down.
it came in and I Installed it in just a few minutes .. Once I replaced the bolts with grade 8 bolts instead of the grade 5 bolts that was recommended to use ..
well made easy to install with miner wiring changes //color differences //

I know that you wanted the red color. It turns out that Demco has upgraded their painting process and had a running change with the primer color. It was red and now is a silk gray. We are working to update our pictures and videos on the site.
