Today we're going to be taking a look at the Titan trailer coupler. This ball coupler let's you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. It's designed for a two and five-sixteenth inch hitch ball and it's going to have a weight capacity of 14,000 pounds. Again, it's going to provide the connection point, for a hitch ball right here in this socket area. The units going to feature a trigger latch. This allows for safe and easy coupling and uncoupling.
It's got the nice circle grip design. Makes latching very quick and easy. Just makes that whole latch mechanism easy to use. Place a finger through there, pull it up. It will remain in the open position for easy connecting.
Then when you are ready to secure it, you just simply push this back down and then make sure that trigger engages in that slot. This is designed for an adjustable channel bracket. So a channel bracket that has multiple holes in it. Hardware would pass through the bracket and through the connection point here on the back of the coupler to secure it. The adjustable channel mount is going to let you change the couplers height depending on your application. The channel bracket and mounting hardware are sold separately. The unit is made from a sturdy steel construction.
It's going to feature a zinc finish which is going to offer great corrosion resistance. This is designed for a three inch wide channel bracket. And the way that we can tell that is simply by taking a measurement of this area right here. So we're going to measure the width of that. As you can see that measures just under three inches wide, so it's going to fit perfectly inside of a three inch wide channel bracket. Again, it's going to work with a two and five-sixteenth inch hitch ball.
Weight capacity on the unit is 14,000 pounds. Got our mount holes right here. These will accept five eighth inch diameter bolts. These holes are separated on center by two inches. The overall length of the unit measuring from very front to very back. That's going to give us a measurement of about nine and . about nine and one quarter inches long. I also did a measurement from the center of these holes right here to front of the coupler and got a measurement of around eight and three eighths of an inch. The unit will accept a coupler pin, or a coupler lock. That's what these pin holes right here are for. Those items are sold separately. Not a coupler lock will lock your coupler to the hitch ball when connected. It will also lock your coupler in a closed position when your trailer is unattended and not connected, which is going to help prevent theft. The diameter of those pinholes is going to be five sixteenth of an inch, so you want to make sure that the pin diameter doesn't exceed that measurement. And the width of that area right there is going to be just shy of seven eighths of an inch. So you want to make sure that that span or usable pin length is at least that long. But that's going to do it for today's look at the Titan trailer coupler with a weight capacity of 14,000 pounds.

Couple works just fine
My first Time dealing with EZ Trailer. Great Customer service and fast Shipping !
This product works but you have to learn how to use it. When you drop the coupler on the ball it will not lock until you block the trailer wheel and move forward to seat the ball to the front of the coupler. To unhook you need to do he same thing. I never had this problem with the original coupler in the fifteen years it was on the trailer.

Replace a coupler that was held on with 2 bolts after 1 bolt failed. Love the security and strength this one has with 3 bolts. Have had issues with couple not releasing from the ball. Gets stuck in the locked position.

I believe its the best out there. most trailer manufacturers only put a two bolt coupler on their trailers on their adjustable height couplers, giving a good chance to rock back and forth ovaling out the holes over time. this third bolt coupler eliminates the chance. second trailer I've put this coupler on.
