Video Transcript for PTC Custom Fit Engine Air Filter Installation - 2016 Toyota Highlander

Clayton: Hey guys, how's it going Clayton here at etrailer.com. Today, we'll show you how to install the PTC engine air filter on our 2016 Toyota Highlander.To start our installation, we want to open our hood, and then locate our air box. Our air box is going to be located right here behind our battery. There's going to be two little snaps. We'll simply pull those down, and then we can lift up on our cover. There are little snaps that fit into the side, so we can lift this out of the way.

Simply pull out our old filter.We're going to take a look at our new filter. Our filter is going to be plated. It is going to have these nice diamond shaped covering here on the top. That's just going to help this filter keep its shape over time. It's going to have a nice silicone lining around the outside to ensure a tight air fit inside of our air compartment.Our engine air filter is going to filter the air that's going into our engine.

Over time, if there's built up dirt and debris in our filter, that's going to make our engine work a lot harder to pull air, which causes problems down the road. This is a very simple installation, especially on this vehicle. So I'd highly suggest doing this yourself and not paying someone to do it. It's going to take us just a few moments, and you can definitely do it at home in your driveway.In my left hand is our old filter, and in my right hand is our new filter. You can see our new filter is much cleaner than our old one.

However, this filter must've just been recently replaced because there's not a ton of dirt and debris inside of our filter. That's always good because our car is going to run a lot better. Again, this is a very easy installation. Personally, I change my engine air filter every couple oil changes just to make sure my car's running good.With the top of our air box removed, we can go ahead and drop our filter into the box. Take our filter, push the tabs in, and then snap down our metal clips.

I always like to shake it around a little bit and make sure it's not going anywhere. With our new filter in, we're ready to hit the road. That's going to do it for a look at an installation of a PTC engine air filter on our 2016 Toyota Highlander.
