Video Transcript for A Closer Look at the Powerbuilt Brake Bleeder

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number ALL648591, this is the Power Built Brake Leader Master Kit. This kit can be used for bleeding all types of automotive hydraulic cylinders by one person. It's going to come with a plastic bottle. This is going to hold the fluid when you're bleeding. It's also going to have that magnetic clamp on there. You're going to get all the different fittings here.

Now, depending on your application, you'll need to refer to the instructions on the back of the packaging to know when to use each fitting. The tapered fittings are designed to fit both bleed screws and master cylinder fittings, and then you're going to get the 3 pieces of vinyl hose. The bottle's going to have that magnet attached to it, so that way you can easily find a place to secure it when you're ready to bleed a line. The other end of the clear tube is going to attach to the brake bleeder screw, and then again you may or may not have to use the fittings. Once you have that connected, as you depress the brake pedal a few times, it's actually going to pump the fluid up to the bottle. Now you can also use this to bleed the master cylinder by using the different fittings, the F style fitting and the shorter hoses.

Again, you'll need to refer to the instructions. They're very detailed, they're going to tell you exactly when and where to use each fitting in each hose, depending on your application. That's going to do it for our review of part number ALL648591. This is the Power Built Brake Bleeder Master Kit. .

container size could be larger, perhaps 2x or 4x the volume provided, inside diameters and lengths of hoses need to be given, short hoses need to be longer. Get rid of the magnet and replace it with a wire and an S -hook

by:

I didn't use this as I replaced all 4 brake assemblies and needed a power bleeder instead.

by:

This product worked very well. I was able to bleed the new brakes I installed on my boat trailer by myself. I just pushed the surge brake in with my hand until no bubbles came out and then closed the bleeder. The only reason I gave it 4 star is because the plastic line could better if it was longer and the plastic line almost didn't fit over my kodiak bleeder valve.

by:

Too small to handle a task of this nature, should be at least 16 Oz.

Great service!

  • Replacement 3,500 lb Hubs & Hydraulic Brakes For 2003 EZ Loader Boat Trailer
Hi Steve, I was able to do some research and find all the parts you need; they don't all come in a kit though you can get the parts individually with the following: - Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-545-35-G-K - Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-545-35-G-K - Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors # BB1980A - Hydraulic Brake Kit # AKFBBRK-35-D & Mounting Hardware # BRKH10B A couple of things to note, one of which is the Bearing Buddies are sold in a pair and not individually, so keep...

  • Bleeding Instructions for the Demco Hydraulic Disc Brake Actuator w/ Electric Lockout
Attached is a portion of the instructions for the Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator # DM8759422 that gives the details on how to bleed the brakes of your trailer. You will need to use a brake bleeder like part # ALL648591 to perform this. The "primed" part of the title means that it has a primed finish so there won't be any fluid in the reservoir.

  • Do Brakes on Demco Kar Kaddy X Tow Dolly Need to be Bled
You do indeed need to bleed the brakes before use of the Demco Kar Kaddy X Tow Dolly w/ Disc Brakes # DM9713093. I have added a cut out from the linked instructions which detail the process, and to actuate the fluid you can do it by hand by pumping the actuator, but this can be very difficult, so it's best to use a tool like the Powerbuilt Brake Bleeder # ALL648591 or Hand Vacuum Pump Brake Bleeder # PTW87030.

  • Does HydraStar Disc Brake Kit Work With Lippert 7,000 lb Axle
Yes, your Lippert 7,000 lb axles are absolutely compatible with the HydraStar Disc Brake Kit with Actuator for Tandem Axle Trailers # HSE7K-T1. This kit is going to give you the best possible braking set up for your trailer, with the responsiveness of an electric trailer brake system and the stopping power of hydraulic disc brakes. I also recommend adding the Trailer Hub Grease Cap #TRU66FR if you have an E-Z Lube type axle. Additionally, if you don't have one you'll need a brake bleeder,...

  • Difference Between HydraStar Disc Brake Kit HSE7K-TR1 & HSE7K-TR1SO for 7K Triple-Axles
The difference between the two HydraStar Disc Brake Kits with Actuator for Triple Axle Trailers is that one comes with a complete hub-and-rotor assembly while the other is just the slip-on rotors without the hubs. What that means is that if you need new hubs with the brake kit you will want the HydraStar Disc Brake Kit with Actuator for Triple Axle Trailers - 13" Hub/Rotor # HSE7K-TR1. If your hubs are in fine shape and you just want the kit with the slip-on rotors you will want the HydraStar...

  • Recommendation For Flushing Dirty Brake Fluid From Surge Brakes On Trailer
Yes, you will want to flush out all your old dirty brake fluid from your lines and master cylinder. You can use the Hand Vacuum Pump Brake Bleeder # PTW87030 to do this but in my experience I find it best to use the manual method using the 2x4 to be the best way to quickly push out the old fluid. A Bleeder # ALL648591 makes it possible to do the flush without a 2nd person.

  • How To Bleed Hydraulic Surge Brakes On Titan Model 60 Multi-Fit Brake Actuator
To bleed the brake lines on a Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator # T43397007K I recommend using the Powerbuilt Brake Bleeder # ALL648591. This has a magnet that will hold the catch container where it is easily visible. Using the 4 steps detailed in the images below you can use a 2x4 to activate the surge brake while a 2nd person is opening and closing the bleeder valve at each brake cylinder. Do start with the brake assembly furthest from the master cylinder.

Yes, if the bolt holes on your trailer measure 3" apart on center then the Titan Leverlock Brake Actuator part # T43397007K should work for you without having to drill any new holes. The bleeding process for the brakes is not hard but it will take a bit of time. The Powerbuilt Brake Bleeder part # ALL648591 is not required but will make life easier. I have attached the instructions for you below in addition to a video. Remove the master cylinder cap and fill the reservoir to three quarters...

  • Oil Bath or Grease for HydraStar Disc Brake Kit with Actuator for Tandem Axle Trailers
In regards to the bearings, trailer bearings nowadays are generally made overseas; there may be some exceptions here and there, but they generally aren't standard trailer bearings. The bearings and seals that come with the HydraStar Disc Brake Kit with Actuator for Tandem Axle Trailers # HSE7K-T1 are of the highest quality and you won't have any issues. As far as changing from grease to oil bath, that is not recommended for trailer hubs. Oil bath hubs can be problematic because they are...

  • When Replacing Trailer Brake Lines Is Bleeding the System Required to Get Fluid to Assemblies
You will need to bleed the brake system to get all of the air out of the lines after replacing the brake lines. Filling up the master cylinder will get some fluid into the lines but not a whole lot. You will need to keep bleeding them till there are no air bubbles that come of the wheel cylinders. If you have a power bleeder you would not need to actuate the actuator to build pressure as the power bleeder will do that for you. To make bleeding the brakes easier and quicker we have the...

  • Troubleshooting Hydrastar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Not Working Brakes
It is possible for the actuator inside the Hydrastar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes # HBA16 to go bad. The brake fluid should be checked with a tester to determine if moisture is mixing with the brake fluid. As moisture gets into the fluid it can cause corrosion to build up inside the actuator and brake lines. This corrosion can cause the actuator to freeze up or debris to get into the lines and clog the lines or the calipers. I recommend attempting to bleed the entire...

  • Trailer Disc Brakes not Releasing on Trailer with Titan Model 6 Actuator
I do not think it is the lockout solenoid causing the problem on your model 6 actuator but if it is closing for some reason when braking and moving forward (and then not opening again) that would explain why the brakes won't release. It should have 1 power wire and 1 ground wire. If the ground wire is missing then that could also explain it because it could be a case of the solenoid working intermittently because of that ground. Here is a test you can do with the actuator: With the trailer...

  • Bleeding Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator without Brake Controller
You can use a hand pump to bleed your trailer's brake lines like the # ALL648591 or you can use 12V power input to the actuator from a charged 12V battery to power the actuator so you can clear the system of air. The HydraStar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator # HBA-12 uses either DOT 3 or DOT 4 brake fluid; you will need at least a quart to fill the actuator. The written instructions for this item are linked for reference for the # HBA-12.
