The drawbars, or front arms, on the crossbar-style series base plate kit are supremely easy to mount and remove. Just insert them into the brackets and twist to lock them in place. To remove, simply twist the arms back and pull them out. Once the drawbars have been removed, the remaining brackets are virtually invisible. Regards base plate installation 2021 mini cooper I like to thank you for all your help, everyone at etrailer was very helpful. The quality of the part are excellent and the instructions are right on. One important task before starting is to check all the hardware included in the Kit, on mine was one 1 “ pipe spicer missing which I only noticed during the installation and lost some time with this. One other suggestion in regards to the horn installation mounting it directly to the support bracket will bend the connection clip. I made a little bracket to create more space. Everything else went very smooth. Great product and service.

Everything installed perfectly and the instructions where clear. I didn't care for the instruction to cut up the metal rock guard for the crossbar, but otherwise am pleased with the installation result. We have since travelled 1,200 miles with this set up connected to a Nighthawk tow bar, and are 100% happy with the performance, and are especially pleased with the ease of connection and disconnection.

This base plate is for the 2021 Lincoln Navigator. I have a 2022 and it fits fine. The instructions are nearly the same. Use Roadmaster Wiring Kit W Smart Diodes For Led Bulbs and splice into the stop light.

Was delivered quickly and I was able to install the baseplate assembly relatively easily after having watched a few of the etrailer videos. I did watch multiple different videos as my 2022 Grand Cherokee WK had slight variations from the videos. I did not have previous experience doing this type of automotive work so I will admit to some trepidation along the way but all ended perfectly. My wife was not too happy about me taking the bumper off of her new car with just 100 miles on it but she has regrouped. The only thing I used the written instructions for was to get the parts all organized and to get the correct torque for the bolts

Roadmaster system is top notch. Installation was not bad. Getting bumper to line up with holes in new bracket was difficult, due to very tight tolerance. We have towed 4 down over 4,000 miles with this set up, no issues at all. Towing 4 down is the only way to go!!

I have a 2019 GMC Denali and this product from Roadmaster is fantastic. Installation was easy with out having to remove the grill or valance or bumper. There was no trimming on the Plastic. The baseplate installed from the rear with a little push and nudge. there was one bolt just a tad long but this was fixed with a washer. If this is your model of vehicle and you don't want to trash the front get this base plate.

Great fit - The instructions were spot on. etrailer’s instruction videos are extremely helpful. I rate the level of difficulty on the GX to be moderate due to the difficulty removing/installing the front fascia.

Solid construction sorta...down right dumb install on older JKs. The secondary plates are not particularly well engineered and a real bandaid on less than perfect design. They are however needed, as mounting to only the vertical frame tubes will likely impart too much torsion on the welds that hold those tubes to the main frame rails. Especially so as the need for aggressive braking, or even a panic stop inevitably arises. I really dislike the mount bracket tubes for an electrical tow plug receptacle. Since I had already had one mounted in the bumper from a previous tow system, I just cut those 1/4" tubes off so that I never get injured on them...along with what ever the flat plate welded on near those tubes was for. There are no holes in the outer frame rails, as all the videos and install instructions show. So? You'll need to try to GUESS where to align and where to drill the outer holes. Guessing that they will be relatively centered in the body frame mount bracket, will cause a fail. You'll need to drill a second hole. Oversizing those holes was about the only way to get reasonable alignment for the bolt to make both holes, the bushing and the add on bracket. OEM power steering hydraulic lines, will rub on the long bolts heads once everything is installed. You'll need to engineer some sort of vibration isolators or stand offs to prevent chaffing through those aluminum tubes. If you're not careful with your drilling you may even drill into the lower corner of your radiator. None of the instructions discuss any of these product design shortfalls.

I purchased this baseplate system for a 2014 Ford Focus. Just finished installing it. Excellent instructions and online video. Make sure you watch it and follow the paper instructions. Let me inform anyone attempting this on your own it is a process. You need to remove the entire front fascia and headlights. The undercarriage plastic air dams also have to come off. This is not difficult if you are a decent mechanic/collision person. If you plan on tackling this yourself allow 3-5 hours if you are a capable individual. If not, take it to a shop you trust. I personally have a shop and all the jacks and tools required. It took me approximately 4-1/2 hours start to finish. But I had a/c, lights, music and my dog kReaping me company. The most frustrating part was drilling the two access hole in the frame. Not sure what that metal alloy is but a dulled my drills and ruined a perfectly good high end hole saw. I ended up using a pnuematic cut off Grinder. I am very satisfied with the end result. Take your time. Don’t let yourself get aggravated and the install should go smooth. Save a bunch installing it yourself. Good Luck. Thanks RoadMaster and etrailer.

Installing the 2020 Chevy Equinox base plate was easy. Perfect directions and videos helped a lot. Taking the front end off a brand new car was scary. Only real hard part came when trying to determine which parts of the from grill to cut the openings for the quick connections and the wiring connector protrusions. The cuts have to be made prior to reinstalling the grill and you can't really see where to cut without the grill in the correct configuration on the fender. So you cut and trim to fit. Then get the grill into the fender connector then check and make additional cuts as necessary. Also I installed a Invisibrake inside of the engine bay, not under the back seat. This was my wife's suggestion and she was correct. It fits and you only have to run the little air tube through the firewall. No taking apart of the interior molding except the driver kick panel for the pneumatic cylinder. Very easy.

I ordered this Roadmaster tow plate to flat tow my Jeep Wrangler behind my motorhome. Katherine B at etrailer was very helpful in assuring the tow plate was the part I needed. The tow plate arrived in a few days and I installed it myself. It was an easy installation. The tow plate is sturdy and well built and fits nicely under the front bumper. Great plates for our ‘21 Ranger. Easy installation in place of the OEM tow hooks. Inconspicuous after install. Fast, easy prep for towing. Use standard 40mm boat scupper stoppers to prevent water and dirt intrusion when not towing-much cheaper than Roadmaster plugs and equally effective.

I had the Road Master Falcon 2 set up on my motor home towing a 1999 Toyota Solara and it was time to get a new Toad. After a lot of searching we settled on the Versa and I will say that the base plate fits perfectly and looks great with and W/O the "ready to tow" set-up installed. I would recommend Road Master to anyone looking for a cost effective 4 wheel down set-up.

2014 Honda CR-V - Excellent product that installs cleanly with almost no visual evidence it is there. The etrailer video is very helpful. I can almost guarantee some of those little plastic clips holding the entire front of the car together will be destroyed upon removal. I had purchased some spares from Amazon and was ready!
