Simple, Invisible Design
Setting up these invisible base plates for use with your etrailer tow bar is fast and easy. They easily bolt onto the ends of your tow bar. And because the tabs remain on your tow bar at all times instead of protruding from your vehicle , your car maintains a clean look when it's not being towed.
Easy Hookup and Disconnect
Using the etrailer invisible base plates to attach and remove your tow bar couldn't be easier. With the base plate tabs attached to your tow bar arms, simply insert the tabs into the receivers on your vehicle and twist to lock them in place. Insert the included pull pins to add an extra layer of security, ensuring the tabs stay put. To remove each arm, simply tug the pull pin to disengage the lock, twist the tow bar arm, and pull the tab out of the bracket.
Receiver Covers
Keep dirt and debris out of the base plate receivers with the included covers. These high-density polyethylene covers easily snap into place over each pull point when your tow bar is not attached. Limiting internal corrosion makes it easier to slide the tabs in and out and helps to prevent seizing so that the tabs don't get stuck.
Tow Bar Adapters
If you have a tow bar from a different manufacturer, an adapter may be available. etrailer offers adapters for use with other tow bars so that you don't have to go through the added hassle and expense of replacing your tow bar when outfitting your new towed car with base plates.

2022 Jeep Wrangler
The finished product looks great, it took a lot longer to install than the video but I am happy with the result. The instructions for cutting the holes didn't work well and I had to increase the holes and move them over as they didn't fully line up. I also had to make a relief cut to help the part that the bracket hit. Also make sure you put on the metal plate that holds the plastic shield on prior to putting the bumper on and tightening the tow bar down. Aligning the holes is "fun".... after 4 times taking the bumper off it all worked. Getting the plastic rivets on the underside back on requires the use of many "Special" words.... But it looks great after, and I am looking forward to using it.

2023 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Nice solidly built baseplate. Installation went very easy, took a couple hours. No modifications, other than cutting the plastic air dam. Highly recommend watching the etrailer installation video that with the instructions hard to follow.

I just got delivery on 8/21 and I finished installation 0n 8/22. Delivery of the base plate was way late and I had to change plans because of UPS. etrailer was very good about the problem and did all they could to rectify the problems that I had with the UPS delivery.
The base plate fit perfectly and was fairly easy to install. The instruction sheet could be better but the videos available explained a lot that the instructions did not.

Had looked at other ones So glad we went through E trailer Much easier to install. My advice would be don't follow the temp plates in the directions. Your better off measuring it yourself.

Baseplate was great all the parts were there, the fit was good and the installation was time consuming but the template to cut the plastic skid plate were nowhere near accurate, had to remove and reinstall several times to get it right.

The attachment methods can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer but each will be plenty suitable for flat-towing and I couldn't accurately say one will be stronger than the other as they each go through vigorous testing before they are deemed acceptable. The etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit in particular does indeed not require any drilling.
