Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Trailer Battery Charger. Now this dual input smart charger is going to keep your trailer battery charged. This is going to install in your trailer and pull power from your vehicle's battery or rooftop solar panel to charge your auxiliary battery. So this is going to be great for travel trailers or other enclosed models.
Now the application for this is going to be 12 volt or 24 volt vehicle systems with a standard or smart alternator, plus 12 volt, 40 amp solar solar input. And then the battery type supported, as you can see there on your screen, is AGM gel, standard lead acid, calcium and lithium ion batteries. And this unit must be mounted in the interior of an enclosed trailer. Cables, fuses, and connectors are sold separately. What I have there on your screen, you see those item numbers there, those are gonna point you to fuses if you want to take a look at those.
And let me go ahead and give you some overall measurements, just so you have a good idea of the size. So let me go ahead and lift this just a little bit there so I can get a better measurement there for you. So looking at the overall length, as you can see there, we're sitting right at six and a half inches long. And then looking at the width, looks like we are right at four and three quarters inches wide. And then the height, right at an inch and a half tall.
And this weighs right at about two pounds or so. Now this is a DC to DC charger and MPPT solar regulator and a smart battery isolator, all packed into this one compact lightweight unit. The dual system is going to combine a 12 amp tow vehicle charger and a 40 amp solar regulator for simplified enhanced power management. The 40 amp solar regulator feeds your off-grid adventures with a longer and more reliable charging capacity. The DC to DC battery charger is going to draw power from your vehicle to power up your auxiliary battery on your enclosed trailer as you travel.
This is going to be great for smaller battery banks, rated less than 75 amp hours, and it uses your 7-way plug to pull powers. Now the multi-stage charging algorithm is going to ensure a complete charge on your secondary battery without overcharging. The boost stage provides a constant charge while monitoring auxiliary battery voltage. The absorption stage keeps voltage stable to avoid overcharging while bringing the battery up to 100% charge. And then the float stage maintains a charge on your auxiliary battery. This does feature a fully sealed construction with fan-free operation that will ensure durable performance under harsh conditions, protecting sensitive electronics from water, dust, and shock. It's tested to ensure operation in temperatures as high as 176 degrees Fahrenheit. The fault recognition technology is going to prevent damage to your batteries from voltage spikes, overheating, and reverse polarity connection. The battery isolator function is going to prevent the charger from pulling power from your smart battery when the vehicle is off. A start battery, rather, not smart battery. And then the green power priority algorithm is going to ensure solar is prioritized when both systems are available. Now this unit has a profile and status LED indicators for a confidence setup. You can see those right here. Profile, status, very easy to read. You can combine this with the Redarc Smart Battery Monitor, which is sold separately, and RedVision Smartphone mobile app to keep an eye on your battery levels. Instructions are included to go through the features in a little more detail. And I think that's going to wrap up our brief look today. I know it was a quite a bit of information there, but I do hope that it was helpful for you to help you determine if this is going to be just what you need. But again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
