Jeff: Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this Jif Marine aluminum five-step folding pontoon ladder. Has a 300 pound weight capacity. Now this five step pontoon ladder lets you easily climb aboard your pontoon boat. It is a nice foldable design, so it allows for easy storage and transport. It is a nice, lightweight, and rustproof aluminum construction.
The steps themselves are plastic steps, which are injection molded and UV resistant. And to install this, it's a very easy installation or removal with the included plastic cup mounts and the hardware is all included. Now, basically I've set up here just to demonstrate how this would install. I've got a board here with the holes in it. So basically when you go to install this, you'll take your cup mounts, put it into the holes, take your hardware and then screw it down to hold those into place. And then all you have to do is unfold your ladder right here.
You can see it just opens up this way. And then you use these hooks here and put it into the cup mounts. So basically once you install those, they go into those holes and then your ladder's installed. And then all you have to do now is just unfold it down. It clips onto each side right here.
So you just unclip it and then you can let the other steps down. And then you can see with all the way extended. It gives you the five steps to climb up into your boat. Few specs on this, the weight capacity is 300 pounds. Now the overall height, I want to give you some measurements.
If we measure from very bottom step, all the way to the very top, where it bends, starts to bend right here, it's going to give you an overall height of 54 1/2 inches. Now the hook depth, in other words, how far back that hook goes, is going to be right at about six inches. Overall width, the widest point, is one of these steps here from end to end is going to be right at 15 1/2 inches. And the depth of each step is going to be right at 2 1/2 inches. The wrong spacing, meaning the distance between each step, that's going to measure right at 10 inches. And the total weight on the whole ladder is only about nine pounds. Very easy to pick up. Now we do also sell this. This is the five step version. We do also sell us in a four step version, an aluminum four step ladder and that's part number JIF98FR. And it's listed on our product page as a related product. But again, just to fold this up, you can just snap it into place. Snaps on over here, and it'll snap on over here. And it'll hold the ladder up. And then if you want to totally remove it, all you have to do is just lift it out of the cup mounts. Once you get it out of the cup mounts, just like that, then you can fold the hooks in and you have a nice compact ladder that's easy to transport or store. But that should do it for the review on the Jif Marine aluminum five-step folding pontoon ladder with the 300 pound weight capacity.

This sturdy, 5-step ladder lets you climb aboard your pontoon boat and fold it up and lock it once you're out of the water. Aluminum construction is rustproof. Durable plastic steps resist UV damage.Works well
The Ladder itself is excellent. There was a problem with the screws provided. The instructions did not give a size of pilot hole to use. But I did predrill a hole. upon install the screw snaps off and I had to remove it. Again, I up sized the pilot hole and the screw snaped again. this time I had to use a small pipe wrench to extract it. I threw the screws away and purchase better grade screws to use. It was a lot of unnecessary work because of inferior screws. I would recommend just not using them.
Bought for my mom and dad who have knee problems. The 5th step makes it much more easy for them to get back onto the boat. Highly recommend this product.
It works perfect for our pontoon boat!!! We are super happy about it!!
The ladder is durable and has withstood many boardings from the water. It is nice that it folds and the arms swing inward so that it can lay flat. Works nice for storing and tucking out of the way when not in use. It does tend to want to pivot or rock side to side when in use while trying to climb it. It would be nice if it had some sort of locking mechanism to prevent that when it is deployed and in use.
Ladder was easy to install and works gr eat.
