by:

This kayak tie-down kit was easy to use and kept our kayaks secure. Compared to other sites, it was also a quality product for a better price on etrailer.

by:

The kayak tie-down kit worked well for my situation with my car. Our Acura MDX would have been a bigger challenge to tie the kayak to the front of the car. I am pleased with my purchase.

by:

Works well, I find myself putting the kayaks up, then just tucking in the extra lengths inside my car doors. The front/back kayak straps are tricky to use, and then flap like more than expected in the wind.

by:

Love the Rhino rack system. Works very well

by:

Yes , they were the answer to securing my kayak with ease !

by:

Box was opened (looked like a return) Missing parts. Now it's my problem to send it back! Some Hardware is missing.SHOULD HAVE BEEN CHECKED BEFORE IT WAS PACKED INTO SHIPPING BOX!!! Very poor quality control!

Oh wow, I am so sorry to hear that your item arrived like this. We usually keep a good eye on the quality of the product before we send it out, so I am a bit surprised. We do have a demonstration and installation team that opens and tests out the product. They are supposed to be making sure that the product is in pristine condition in order to be put back on the shelf. Let me get you over to our customer service department for them to get a return process set up for you.

by:

Garbage. Waste of money. Extremely disa ppointed

As long as the product was not installed, we can always set up a return for you. I am working on that as we speak, and returns should be getting in touch with you within the next 24 to 48 hours.

by:

Have yet to use them, but they came on time for our trip. I was impressed with the timeliness of the delivery and you guys did a great job of keeping me informed of the delivery.

by:

Straps slip. Had to stop about every 100 miles and re tighten.

by:

The straps were fine but I just bought a sturdier pair last week. The tie down foam pieces don’t really fit in my truck or hood so I’ve never used them. I have a 2017 ford escape.

by:

Have not used yet but appear to be of good quality

by:

The straps really disappointed me. They don't hold tight and I went back to ratchet straps which are a big pain and the reason I tried this item in the first place.

BUT - the anchors are excellent and I consider it all a break even since I use them. Maybe you should offer those paired with some other type of strap with better buckle and holding power. All that aside - etrailer is an excellent vendor. Incredible customer service, amazing range of options. No store like it.

by:

I received my roof rack and installed the same day. The directions were simple and this was easy to mount to my 2021 GMC Terrain.

by:

I really liked the straps for kayaking. The sewn in loops are a great addition to keep the straps organized.

by:

They could have better quality in general. A little wider.

by:

See other review.
Finding a non-chafing
location under the hood of my Silverado is something of a struggle but it worked

by:

Great product. We carried our kayaks all of last year with no issues at all. If you are looking for quality this is what you need.

by:

Lori was awesome, she is an asset to Et railer.

by:

Shipping was fast. Received items ordered. Packed well. One item was filthy, like it has been sitting on a shelf for years and packaging was awry, shop worn. Had to wash my hands after opening it. Hoping the product(s) works as described. ABF

by:

Great kit. Does what I need. Fits all the vehicles.

by:

Omg what great service! Customer service person I talked with was excellent and shipping was really fast.

by:

Good quality, works great.

by:

Items fit perfectly and were easy to in stall.

by:

Good product.

  • Can The Lockrack Adjustable Watersport Carrier Be Used Without Bow/Stern Tie Downs?
Yes, the Lockrack Adjustable Watersport Carrier # LR24VR will absolutely work with the aero bars on your 2023 Toyota Corolla. The clamps on the Lockrack carrier are designed to be universal, and will fit virtually and crossbar shape, including your aero bars. It can also hold up to 175 lbs, so you will not be even close to capacity with your kayak. It is true that the Lockrack carriers do not require the use of load straps. The ratcheting arms are rubber coated and will be extremely strong/secure....

  • J-Style Kayak Carrier For Toyota 4Runner Factory Crossbars That Are Very Low
I took a look at some photos of the crossbars on your 2019 Toyota 4Runner, and you weren't kidding when you said there wasn't much clearance. Thankfully, there is exactly one J-style kayak carrier that lack of clearance won't be a problem for, and that's called the Kuat V2, is available in either black or gray: - Black: Kuat Class 4 V2 Kayak Roof Rack w/ Tie-Downs # KU53VR - Gray: Kuat Class 4 V2 Kayak Roof Rack w/ Tie-Downs # KU33VR The reason this will work with such limited clearance...

  • Can The 2nd Tier Load Bar System MPG474 Support An Old Town Sportsman 120 PDL
It sounds like you are definitely on the right track here. To answer your question, yes, the 2nd Tier Load Bar System # MPG474 will indeed support one of your Old Town Sportsman 120 PDL’s. The 2nd tier does have a 100 lb capacity, so as long as the kayak is at 90 lbs with the pedal system and all accessories removed you will be completely fine. The Malone LowBed MicroSport Trailer has an 800 lb capacity so even with the 2nd tier and three 90 lb kayaks you are well under the specified...

For having one 65-inch Rhino-Rack heavy Duty Crossbar on your camper shell's factory tracks and having one mounted on the cab of your 2018 Ford F-150, you need the following parts: For the single HD crossbar on the shell: - 65" Rhino-Rack Heavy-Duty Roof Rack Crossbars part # RB1650B-2 - Rhino-Rack Quick Mount Legs for Vortex Aero Crossbars - RTC and RT Roof Rack Tracks - Qty 2 # RRRLT600H - Roof Rack Leg Spacer Blocks for Rhino-Rack Heavy-Duty Crossbars part # RRQMHD05 For the single...

  • Can The Lockrack Adjustable Watersports Carrier 339-LRUNISETX Hold A 16 Foot Canoe?
I confirmed with Lockrack that the Lockrack Adjustable XL Watersport Carrier - Canoe, Kayak, or 2 SUPs - Side Loading - Universal Mount # LR54FR is able to hold a 16 foot canoe. Just make sure your canoe is no wider than 48" and is under 175lbs. You would likely be fine without use of straps, although I would probably add some straps for reassurance since it is a rather large boat and Lockrack does suggest adding straps for longer boats. I would use etrailer Kayak Tie-Down Kit # e36ZR since...

  • Which Carrier Do You Recommend for 2 Kayaks Using the Inno Aero Crossbars?
For the best carrier recommendation for 2 kayaks on your Inno Aero-style crossbars, I recommend the Inno Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs - Post Style - Folding - Clamp On - 2 Kayaks # INA455. The great thing about the Inno kayak carrier is that the cradles adjust along crossbars to fit a variety of kayak sizes. In addition, the carrier comes with 2 tie-down straps. If you go with the Inno carrier, I recommend the etrailer Kayak Tie-Down Kit # e36ZR to serve as your bow/stern ties. The Inno kayak...

  • Roof Rack For 2014 Ford Escape For Carrying Kayaks
Since your 2014 Ford Escape has a naked roof, you can simply add a roof rack system that clamps onto your door jambs, so you don't need to spend the extra $600 to get additional side rails. We have the perfect option for '14 Escape, which is a rack from Rhino-Rack. The reason I like this option the best is because it is the best value for a roof rack; the quality is the same (or higher) than similar name brands, but at a better price point. Going with the Rhino-Rack allows you to get...

You will want to use tie downs to secure the bows and sterns of the kayaks when transporting them on the roof of any vehicle, including your 2014 Toyota Camry Hybrid. A lot of the kayak carriers come with tie downs but if you need some you can use # e36ZR. Finding a good spot to secure the tie downs on a vehicle can be difficult but this kit is great solution for you. It comes with soft foam anchors that close inside of your hood or hatch to secure your straps without damaging your vehicle....

  • Can I Place Bunks MPG561 On The Malone 2nd Tier Load Bar System MPG474?
Hello again and thank you for your questions. To answer your first question, yes, it is possible to place the bunk kit # MPG561 on the 2nd Tier Load Bar System # MPG474. That said, the bunk kit weighs about 23 lbs, so that combined with the 90 lb kayak will put you over the 100 lb weight capacity for the 2nd tier system. My recommendation would be to use a simple crossbar pad like the Malone Rack Pads # MPG314, along with the tie downs of your choice (such as the etrailer Tie Down Kit...

  • Recommended Tie-Down Kit for Holding Down a 12' Row Boat
I personally like the etrailer Kayak Tie-Down Kit # e36ZR, and not because it's an etrailer branded product, but because I've used it a handful of times and I know it's secure, plus it comes with the bow and stern anchors that you drop into your hood/hatch to make it easier for securing your boat.

With any tonneau cover, the TracRac you're looking at # TH27000XT-EX will not work. These ladder racks need to have acces to the inside rails of your truck bed. The only option you may have is the Thule TracRac SR # TH43003XT-501 and that will only work if you have clear access to your steak pockets. If you do not, a ladder rack with your tonneau cover will not work. If the ladder rack does work just put your kayaks top side down on the ladder rack bars. Use the load stops to get them...

  • Which Kayak Rack Fits The T-Slot Channel On Thule Wingbar Evo Crossbars?
For a kayak carrier that fits the channel of your Thule Evo Wingbar crossbars, I would look into the Lockrack Adjustable XL Watersport Carrier # LR54FR. You do not need any other hardware or adapters. This carrier is very versatile and does not require any tie-down straps because of the rubberized ratcheting hooks that will keep the kayak secured. Integrated locks help to deter theft of your gear. I attached a helpful demonstration video for you to check out.

  • Does the Thule Compass Fit on the 2017 Dodge Durango Factory Roof Rack
The Thule Compass # TH890000 will work just fine on your 2017 Dodge Durango factory roof rack. The clamps are designed to fit round, square, elliptical, aero and most factory roof racks. In addition to this kayak carrier, I recommend you pick up the etrailer Kayak Tie-Down Kit # e36ZR. These components will make up your roof rack. As far as a kayak rack to haul your kayaks, the etrailer J-Style Kayak Carrier # e98878 is a great option because it comes with straps to tie your kayaks to the carrier and bow/stern straps with anchors. • Recommended Roof Rack for 2019 Honda CR-V to Carry a Canoe
The roof rack I strongly recommend for your 2019 Honda CR-V is the Rhino-Rack Roof Rack because it gives your CR-V a rack that is highly functional with a refined look. The Rhino-Rack Roof Rack is made up of: - Crossbars # RRVA137B-2 - Rhino-Rack 2500 Series Legs # RRRLKVA - Fit Kit # DK284. This roof rack uses aerodynamic bars that have rubber vortex strips in its top channels which greatly minimize the amount of wind noise and drag you might encounter. We have several kayak carriers that will fit the factory crossbars on your 2006 Chrysler Town and Country. My recommendation for a kayak carrier would be the Rhino-Rack J-Style Fixed Kayak Carrier, # S510. This is a price-friendly carrier that will hold one kayak. For this reason I recommend getting a small trailer like the Malone MicroSportXT Trailer - 78" Crossbars - Retractable Tongue - 800 lbs # MPG460XT since it would get rid of everything that's going on with the vibrations. This will be the case for pretty much any other Yakima or other brand rack since they are pretty much all made to fit the more standard roof rack crossbar shapes, none of which are a 2" square.
