Specs:

  • Quantity: 1 bracket assembly
  • Overall height: 9"
  • Dimensions of bolster bracket: 8" tall x 2-1/2" wide
    • Mounting slot dimensions: 2-3/4" long x 1/2" wide
    • Spacing between mounting slots: 1/2"
  • Dimensions of swivel bracket: 3-1/2" long x 1-3/8" wide x 2" tall
    • Flange mounting hole diameters: 3/8"

Bolster-and-swivel-bracket assemblies are typically mounted upright on a boat trailer's crossmembers. They allow a mounted bunk board, which is run from the front of the trailer to the back, to pivot while you are loading a boat. On kayak trailers, these brackets are mounted to the trailer's frame and support bunk boards that run across the trailer.

Galvanized Steel

Galvanized steel parts are hot-dipped in zinc after being stamped. This creates a coating that is typically 3 mil to 5 mil thick. This thick, all-around coating allows galvanized steel products to provide years of use without rusting or corroding.

I'm new to boating & trailers, am just a do-it-yourselfer, and found etrailer online. The trailer I am refurbishing for my son, was built in 1974. The main bunks were supported by angle cut 2"x4"s bolted to the trailer frame. They did not swivel, were not adjustable. I replaced these with the CE Smith bolster and swivel bracket assemblies. These arrived very quickly, and were perfect for my application. They are easy to install, just two 1/2" diameter carriage bolts with cut washers & lock washers per bracket assembly, and you're done. These can be adjusted for final set up to cradle your boat. They're very sturdy, and galvanized for corrosion resistance. Now, I did also replace the original bunks, using 8' pressure treated 2x6"s, that I covered with outdoor/deck carpeting, stapling the carpet to the boards underneath. My mistake, which the picture shows, was putting carpet on one bunk before the holes were drilled & the mounting 1/2" carriage bolts were installed. Rather than removing the carpet & starting over, I just cut the carpet & folded it back where the mounting bolts would go. Once the bolts were in, I just glued the carpet back down with waterproof contact cement. I also chose to put the bunks loosely onto the top of the mounting brackets, after bolting them to the trailer. I used a mechanic's creeper to roll underneath and triple check then mark the drill holes on the bunks, to assure a good alignment for drilling the mounting bolt holes on the bunks, before finally drilling for & mounting the bunk bolts. This worked great, the bunk mounted perfectly to the brackets. The brackets do come with locking nuts on the swivel part, that needs to be tightened down into the final position, to allow the swivel without too much wiggle. Great product, etrailer/ customer service is the best!

I received my bunk board swivel brackets faster than I expected. The quality is very good and should hold up for many years of use. I haven't installed them yet but as I go through this boat/trailer restoration I expect to order more products from etrailer. Fast and easy, that's what I like!

I ordered a set of Dutton-Lainson roller bunks, a CE Smith roller and a pair of Fulton Boat Guides to update an older boat trailer. etrailer was selected because the prices were lower than other outlets. Items were shipped and delivered quickly. I'm sure they will do the job, but won't be able to say for sure until the job is complete and I get to the boat ramp.

I can’t say enough about etrailer speed of shipping and quality of parts they supply. Placed order at 3:30 in the afternoon then received email from etrailer at 6:pm that my oder was ready for shipping. Order arrived on time and all parts fit and worked as described. Due to etrailer’s quality service I was able to repair my boat trailer in time for a Florida keys vac planned for the following day. . Thank you etrailer staff! Steve C.

I purchased 4 of these to attach to my boat lift. I'm using them to retrofit the lift to accommodate a PWC instead of a larger boat that I sold. They were shipped timely and arrived within 5 days of my order date. The materials are as depicted on the vendors web site. They are rugged pieces of metal that are professionally made. They will work perfectly for my application.

  • Replacement Trailer Bunk Brackets for a Escort Boat Trailer
The CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assembly # CE10000G that you referenced would work well to replace the bunk brackets on your boat trailer. You would be able to set the angle for the bunks that you would like with the # CE10000G also. I attached a picture that shows that you can use different angles.

I spoke to my contact at CE Smith and he informed me that they do not specify a weight rating for the CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket # CE10000G because it does not bear the weight of the boat. It is actually the U-bolt that attaches this product to the cross member of your trailer that supports the weight. He said that as long as you use a # CE10000G on every cross member you should have no problem carrying the weight of your boat.

  • Replacement Bunk Brackets Solution for 1995 ESCO Trailer
We do not have any bunk brackets that attach to frame channels that run front to back. We only have options that run from left to right. Best solution we have would be to attach your bunks to the left to right crossmembers using our bolster brackets like the part # CE10000G that you referenced. If that is not possible for some reason send me a picture of your trailer frame and I'll see what we can come up with as best solution.

I do have an option for you but we do not carry the style bracket pictured in the photo. • Replacement Bunk Brackets for Escort Boat Trailer
The CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assembly part # CE10000G are universal so they can be used in place of pretty much any bunk bracket. If you have angled bunk brackets these would not be an issue because the above bunk brackets can swivel. If you can give me the dimensions of your frame I can then get you the correct u-bolts to use the above bunk brackets. That said, I would not be able to locate specific bunk brackets so universal options like the above are your best bet.

  • Will the CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assembly Work if Attached to Boat Trailer Frame
The # CE10000G CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assembly is designed to mount on the boat trailer's crossmembers. You are correct in thinking that mounting this to the boat trailer frame would not provide swivel adjustment as intended since the swivel would rotate in the wrong direction. The exception to this is with kayak trailer frames. The brackets are mounted to the trailer's frame on a kayak trailer to support bunk boards that run across the trailer. I have attached a review...

I spoke with my contact at CE Smith, and they said the Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assembly for Boat Trailers, part # CE10000G-4, do not bear the weight of the boat. The CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assemblies # CE10000G-4 do have a galvanized finish for superior rust resistance but they are meant to be installed on boat trailers and not really meant to stay submerged for extended periods of time. Thank you for the kind words! I do not think there will be enough of the L bracket to properly support the boards because of the bolt head. The carpeted bunk boards, # CE27840, come without any holes drilled so you would need to drill to attach brackets and/or directly to the trailer.
