Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today we're gonna take a brief look at the CE Smith Left Front or Right Rear Steel Step for your trailer fender. This step is going to give you easy access to the bed of your trailer from the side, and it's going to bolt or weld on to the front of your driver's side fender or the rear of your passenger's side fender, or you can weld it to your frame. This non-slip step features this dimpled design, it's gonna give you just that extra bit of traction, and so, you're not gonna have to worry about easily slipping off of this step, especially in wet weather or snowy weather. It's not gonna give you a full step surface, but just enough for your foot to get on there and to lift you up just enough to give you that access that you we're looking for in your trailer. This is made in the USA of a sturdy 11-gauge steel, and it can be primed and painted to match your trailer. Let me go ahead and pull out my ruler here and just give you some overall dimensions.
Overall width, we're sitting right at seven inches, and then the depth, we're sitting pretty close to right at three inches. So you are going to just get one fender step, and again, this is going to be for the left front or right rear, and if you're looking for the opposite step, we do have that available for you as well here at etrailer.com, the right front/left rear step for your trailer fender, and I'm including that item number for you on your screen. You should sell the fender mount brackets in sets, for each side,didn't understand the left/ right description, had to order, 2 more rights...
Holes line up with existing holes in the fender. Fits my size 12 foot. does not
come with nuts bolts and washers, wish it had. It does fit behind the rear lights
using existing nuts and bolts though.
The steps were delivered in a timely manner. I was able to install them with little difficulty, I only had to drill one extra hole in trailer fender mounting post. They look good and are constructed well. I will see how they hold up after being dipped in salt water. GO ><>'
Update on step review. The steps are not stainless or galvanized and have started to rust. One dip in salt is all it takes. I'll see how long they last. They are better than no step! GO ><>'
