CE Smith Boat Trailer Parts - CE27600

  • CE Smith

Keep your small boat centered during the loading process, despite wind and waves, with these bunk-board-style guide-ons. Corrosion-resistant guides are covered with marine-grade carpet and fit trailer frames up to 3" wide x 4-1/4" tall.

Features:

  • Bunk-style guides support your boat and keep it centered while you're loading it onto your trailer
    • Tilt to accommodate hulls of various sizes
  • Support posts clamp onto top or bottom of trailer frame
    • Mounting brackets allow you to adjust the distance between posts
    • Pre-galvanized steel construction is sturdy and resists corrosion
    • Hardware included
  • Marine-grade carpeting lines bunk boards to protect your boat's finish
  • Black color carpeting
  • Made in the USA

Specs:

  • Quantity: 2 bunk-style boat guides
  • Application: trailer frames up to 3" wide x 4-1/4" tall
    • 2 Extra-long U-bolt kits (CE11416; sold separately) are required for mounting on frames up to 3" wide x 5-1/4" tall
  • Bunk board dimensions (each): 60" long x 2" wide x 4" tall
  • Post dimensions: 18" tall x 1-1/2" wide
  • Extends out from boat up to 13"

Adjustable boat guides can be fine-tuned to work with your boat and your trailer. The pre-galvanized steel support posts mount horizontally on top of or below your trailer's frame rail. Just slide the posts into the boat guide supports and secure the posts so that the distance between the bunks correctly matches the width of your boat. The bunk boards then tilt to conform to the boat's hull. Guides will help to center your boat during loading and to hold the boat during transport.

Pre-Galvanized Steel

Pre-galvanized steel parts are stamped from a sheet of steel after it has already been galvanized. The edges of the pre-galvanized parts often lose their zinc coating during the stamping process. Because of the thinness of the coating less than 1 mil and the fact that the edges remain exposed, pre-galvanized parts can begin to oxidize and rust quickly, so its recommended that they be primed and painted.

Make retrieving boat so much easier. Now back the trailer in deeper and boat is centered perfectly. Way less cranking on the winch, but feet get wet cause trailer is back farther. I rather take shoes off or switch to boots than crank on the winch.Speeds up load time at ramp. Only down side is I had to buy longer u bolts because my trailer sides were higher than the stock bolts could accommodate. Cost me more money, cause they ain't cheap and I'm suck with 8 u bolts that I have no use for. They should allow you specify the bolt size you need based on trailer frame height.

Installation was easy and the bucks do hold up very good when bumping into them with a strong current and wind. Only issue I have had to date, one bunk got a small worp/bend from moisture and then drying out in the hot sun.

by:

This bunk is perfect for old men that can't see real good My pontoon boat slips right between the bunks and rides up the trailer to the wench. I don't have to wool about being off just little because the bunks catch the pontoons and position the boat perfectly. Well worth the money to eliminate the hassle of trying to guide the boat myself.

by:

The bunk style guide ons were perfect for my needs. Installation was a snap and they look really good. I followed their recommendation and painted them (black) before installing. I used a couple of clamps to hold the boards in place so I was able to easily complete the project by myself. That also allowed me to drill the pilot holes without taking them back off. Much quicker and very easy.

by:

Best thing I ever did to my trailer. Easy install and they work!

Comments
It works as expected. I did end up moving the bunks a little closer than they were. They might have gotten bent slightly wider loading and unloading the boat. Overall happy with purchase.

by:

Very happy with fitment and the speed of which I could install it. It took about an hour and 15 minutes.

The side boards are in fact wood, and I recommend drilling pilot holes for the wood screws.

Now for the negatives...

Torque specs or the u-volts would have been appreciated for those of us that care.

But most important would be the pivoting bunk mount. As seen in the photos, they are sheared off square. Rounded edges would be more appropriate as most kids around a boat are wearing clothing with little cut resistance. Someone sliding off the boat or getting their knee on it while getting in could really ruin an outing. I would have rounded them off myself, but I didn’t want to lose the galvinized finish.

by:

so much easier getting my boat on the trailer with these!

by:

I was going to make my own but I am very glad I didn’t. These guide-ons are well made a fit great. The perfect height for the line of my boat. Easy to install everything was there. Fast shipping as well. Highly recommended.

by:

I bolted these to my trailer step instead of using the furnished ubolts. Looks great and they are extremely strong. Fine quality, clear instructions and well designed. Loading my boat in the wind is much easier.

by:

Everything I've ordered from etrailer so far has been delivered in reasonable time with plenty of tracking info and the products have been awesome easy assembly and made to last!

by:

Quick shipping, great quality. I ended up using it as a step/board to walk on while docking: loading the boat without getting my feet wet! I’ve been using it for about a year now with no problems.

by:

I guess for a single axle trailer it would be ok except for the u bolts there should be an option for longer ones when purchasing the kit thanks.

Comments
Thank you for your review. If you need longer U-bolts then this extra-long U-bolt kit is sold seperately: Part # CE11416.

Easy install and looks like the will last a long time. Hoping this will solve our loading boat on trailer issues on windy days.

by:

I am impressed with the speed of shipment and delivery but have yet to apply to my boat trailer. Am looking forward to fixing the problem I've had with getting my boat centered on the trailer at the launch.

Suggestion: sell just the brackets and save me the cost of the two-by-fours and carpet. I can do that myself at home.

My Son recommended etrailer, stating the products + shipping resulted in a "No Brainer return". Well, I will confirm this statement. This was exactly what I needed for my jetboat. I ordered Sunday, and received it Friday, week of Thanksgiving. Super fast. I now have a new establishment where I will be coming back for trailer needs. This particular product, good construction, and easy install with all the applicable hardware included. I shopped around, and for the price + package, this was the best deal. Thanks etrailer.......

GM George. The year-after follow up on the bunk style guides. They have been the best thing I have bought for my boat trailer in years. Im 82 years old, and Im launching and reloading a jetboat by myself. They have made this such an easy task. They are good quality, were easy to install. I would purchase this product again in the future if the need arises again.

Installed on the boat trailer for my 14 ft Polarkraft MV Jon boat
now I can load and unload the boat with out having to wade into the water. . I do not know low long it will last in saltwater, it was pregalvanized and not fully galvanized, only time will tell .
Only negative was no instructions on how far to place out guide bunks, but figured it out, 1 in on bow and 2 to 3 inches from stern of . boat can now power boat on trailer , and walk out on bow and not get feet wet. helps in loading in winds here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Excellent service from Customer Rep .

Comments
with salt water use I am replacing my set that I installed almost 5 yrs ago as the rust rot out at the vertical bend where there is a indent, prior to that the bolts that hold the bunks in suffered from wood rot

The guides are working well. The only problem was that the boards were'ent useful since my trailer fenders interfeared with placement. I simply substituted 10 foot 2x4s. No problem. The boards made alignment of the boat easy.

I bought a 2007 16' Carolina Skiff for $3500 back in December. The dealer said there was nothing at all wrong with it and he went over it and winterized it. I finally got around to putting it in the water and saw that the bunk boards were in terrible shape, with one side rail guide-on falling off. I took it to a marina repair shop and was told it would be cheaper to buy a new trailer instead of replacing the bunk boards. I contacted Ashley at etrailer about buying a set of bunk boards and all of the brackets and hardware for it. $370.00 later I had a full set of bunk boards and guide-ons being shipped to me. I don't think I could find a new trailer for that price. It took longer to remove the old ones than it did to put the new ones on. About 3 hrs later I had a new trailer. These bunk boards and guide-ons fit my boat and trailer perfectly.
Thank you Ashley and etrailer for great customer service and a very good product at a really decent price.

by:

The guide-ons have held up and worked well in both fresh and salt water. The only issue has been some slight warping of the horizontal bunks.

by:

Irder and shipping speed was awesome. Install was easy. Waiting to get boat in water to see how good these are.

Ok, so my EZ Loader trailer is not so EZ to load my 15' Smokercraft. I needed something, anything to help remedy the problem. The local boat shop suggested these instead of OEM Trailer Guides. So it took about 2 hours to put together and I have suggestions for anyone who is about to install these.

1. Go get a socket that will accommodate long bolts. A socket wrench is not going to cut it and you will scrape your knuckles trying to make it work. I used a spark plug socket and attached it to my drill. This absolutely cut my time in half!

2. If you have an EZ Loader trailer that is used for smaller boats (like mine), you will have no choice but to attach the brackets under the trailer. I wanted to attach it on top, but the only way to do so is to cut 6 inches off the horizontal portion of the steel "L" bracket. The reason is because the bunk board is in the way and you will only have 5 inches to work with. So keep that in mind. I just hope the height of the boards are tall enough when the trailer is in the water.

3. Call a buddy to help out! It makes life a lot easier.

All and all, this wasn't that difficult to assemble. Again, I haven't put the boat in the water yet, but I am confident this will solve my problem of loading.

Fast shipping, heavy duty constuction, easy to install!

Installed excellent for a 14 ft Klamath aluminum ezload trailer. Install took about 45 minutes and went smoothly. Just needed a 14mm long socket and a cresent wrench. Now I can line my boat up by just driving it up. I have been needing one of these. etrailer had the best price.
