Bunk Boards

These carpeted bunk boards provide hull support for your boat during transport and storage. Each 4-foot-long board is wrapped in weather-resistant, marine-grade black carpet. You can run the bunk boards front to back for traditionally shaped hulls or side to side for flat-bottom boats, kayaks and inflatables.

To attach the bunk boards to the front and rear crossmembers of your trailer frame, use existing brackets or a four-pack of swivel mounting brackets (CE10000G-4, CE10001G-4 or C10002G-4 - sold separately). These brackets allow you to install the bunk boards at different heights. In addition, they enable the bunk boards to tilt to accommodate and support boat hulls of different sizes.

I purchased a CE Smith Multi-purpose trailer for a twin Ocean Kayak Malibu Two - Twin Torqueedo set-up. However, the trailer came with one set of bunks. I tried to set-up the second set of bunks with what was available - but it just doesn't perform right. I found that I could order another set of bunks and appropriate hardware. I am anxious to set-up with the correct material. I have really been impressed with etrailer customer service. Many, many accolades appropriately due!

I recently purchased several parts from etrailer to refurbish my 1971 Yarborough 14 foot boat trailer that will used to tow my 1949 Feather Craft Standard Runabout.
The parts look good. I'm anxious to finishing the trailer project so I can move on to the boat.

Thanks again for the parts. My trailer is looking good!

by:

Perfect replacement of the 20 year old bunks on the trailer.

by:

Fast order pulling and shipping from etrailer. Excellent quality bunk. Southern pine is an extremely hard wood and should last for years under normal conditions. Item came packed well in cardboard box with extra padding. These bunks replaced ones that were 12 years old and starting to rot. Have used CE Smith products before and have purchased products before from etrailer. Would recommend.

Bunks are holding up very well. I would purchase again if needed.

by:

I'm not a trailer person but I found "etrailer's" website informative enough to know what I needed. I also had the benefit of an etrailer staff member who knew his products and thus able to make sure I bought the correct pieces. The plus was when the items arrived much sooner than the shipping time they quoted. I have not yet installed the items but hope to do it this week. Excellent source to buy quality trailer parts.

No problems encountered in a years time

I needed parts for my 1962 Balko tilt small boat trailer. I call after making a list of parts I wanted and talk with customer service rep Sandy J. Awesome she checked all items for being in stock so I could get my order on Friday. That way I could start on it Friday night and have Sat and Sun to finish it up. As you see in the picture as of Sat night 8:30 CST almost done. I will finish up tomorrow and a big thanks to Sandy J. The team at eTrailer who got my order packed and shipped out on time. Parts are good quality for dollars spent. I highly recommend eTrailer for parts but so nice to find someone who cares about what they do everyday. One tip is to bore the hole into the bunker and installl a piece of PCV pipe for the 1/2 bolt to ride on instead of just the wood. I also mixed up some West Systems Epoxy and coated the hole in the bunker, PCV pipe and slide them into place. Added a Stainless Steel washer to each side done deal.

I'll be back If I ever needed anything again.

Regards,

Mike

Great product! Love how easy they went on!

by:

Good quality product. I re did my flat bottom trailer, and couldn't beat the price of this set. Same price as buying the wood and carpet and doing it myself, but with this already being wrapped in carpet it was a no brainer. Drilled out some holes, mounted with new SS bolts and they look great!

by:

Great Bunk Boards. Easy to install. The real test will be how long they last with normal use.

Bunk boards are perfect. Made a world of difference getting my boat on and off trailer. Quality was great. Price was good as well.

by:

Great product, replaced the old rusted brackets, rails and plastic fenders with new galvanized brackets and fenders and beat up rails.

by:

The whole process going thru the purchase was good but I did not like the survey at the end.
-The seam (where the carpet wraps around the board) on one of the bunks was coming apart stapled too close to the edge, other staples won't be too long before they come apart.
-because the board was exposed at the seam described above I saw that the board was pressure treated like I read in a review posted on the geb site it was not even red wood

by:

Great products easy install

by:

These were just as described. Installation on the trailer for my 12' sailboat was easy, and the boat slid onto them much better than with the bare 2x4 boards it had to begin with.

by:

Good, well built product made with pressure treated 2x4's. The Black covering looks good on my trailer and the shipping was super fast. Thanks

by:

The bunks and brackets turned out great! The kayak loads on the trailer as smooth as butter. Very happy how my trailer build has turned out.

by:

I love etrailer.com. The product shipped quickly and was delivered as promised. The Bunk Boards look great on my jetski trailer. Very easy to install, no issues.

by:

Ah these will be upgrading to rollers soon. Nothing wrong with bunks I just prefer rollers

by:

So far so good. Will know more in a year of using trailer. Excellent buying/shipping process.

by:

The bunker boards were just as ordered and simple to install - good quality

by:

The quality and workmanship are good. The only aspect I didn't like is that the wood used is not pressure treated. Since the bunks are submerged in water several times a year it only seems logical to use wood treated against rot.

by:

So much better than trying to build these myself. The cost of the wood, carpet and stainless steel staples to build these were more than the cost of these factory manufactured bunks. AND, the fit and finish of these are definitely better than what I would have accomplished.

by:

these bunks replaced an old set of dry rotted rollers. easy to install, worked perfectly

  • Parts Needed to Convert a Boat Trailer From Rollers to Bunks
In order to switch from rollers to bunks, you will need to remove the rollers that you are no longer using. I do not see a reason why you can't continue to use the front rollers. You would just want bunks that stop a little but before the front rollers so they do not interfere with each other. You would need to get the bunk boards, swivel brackets and u-bolts for installing the bunk boards. You will need to measure to determine the correct length of bunk board that fits between the middle...

The Malone MicroSport Trailer # MPG460G uses crossbars like what you would find on the roof of a vehicle instead of bunk boards. This is sold on our site as the Malone Crossbar Conversion Kit # MPG475 and it comes with the mounting hardware. If you are wanting carpeted bunk boards instead we have them in the following lengths: 2' - # CE27850 3' - # CE27800 4' - # CE27810 5' - # CE27820 6' - # CE27840 These come in pairs.

The CE Smith Carpeted Bunk Boards # CE27810 that you referenced are made of exactly that; wooden boards. They do have a marine-grade black carpeting with velvety finish that is strong, soft and weather resistant to keep them in good shape. They also have a copper-free construction which is safe to use with aluminum and steel boats. I have attached a sample installation video for you to check out as well.

  • How To Choose the Correct Roller or Carpeted Bunk Boards for a Trailer
The size of bunk board or bunk roller you will need for your boat trailer is based off the hull size. However, generally speaking the manufacturer knows what size roller/bunk works best for the boat/trailer. Therefore I recommend using the same size that the trailer came with but it wouldn't hurt to go a bit longer if you have room. If you are switching from rollers to carpeted bunk boards then I would go longer. For the carpeted bunk board option we have part # CE27800 which are 36" long,...

  • Recommended Bunk Board Replacement Options for Boat Trailer
For your boat trailer, the length of bunks is dependent on the boat and the trailer, so I would be hesitant to change anything from the factory. • Can 4 Foot Bunks be Used in Place of 3 Foot Bunks on a Boat Trailer
You generally see pivoting bunks on boat trailers instead of fixed ones so that they can move a little to better fit against the boat. If you go to fixed bunks using # CE27800 then you have to make sure they are installed in the right positions to make the most contact with the boat so that it sits properly on the trailer. Pivoting bunks can move some with the boat so it doesn't have to be exactly perfect to have the maximum contact with the hull. Your bunks may just need some adjustment,...
