D-L roller bunks provide a quick, easy, and inexpensive way to upgrade bunk-style trailers to rollers. Features rubber rollers with durable, wear-resistant inner surface and soft, boat-cushioning outer surface. As you may observe, an 8 ft roller bunk would have made it more simple to install! Two 4ft would not be a good idea as the angle iron would have still be necessary.
Using these on a homemade jet ski ramp on my pier and they are excellent. Tried this with just carpet on the rails and it actually broke the strap. I can now raise the jet ski from the water turning the crank with one hand.
I received the roller bunkers but had to wait a few weeks to install them and try them out. I put the 5' roller bunks on 8' carpeted, wooden bunks as your instructions suggested (centered). Once I had the hardware it was a simple process. I took my boat out of the water and could not believe how much easier it was. After I serviced my boat I put it back into the water. I basically had to hold the crank handle to keep the boat from sliding into the water too quickly. I am so pleased with this product, and the best part...I didn't even get my truck tires wet.
I built a double JetSki trailer and needed bunkers. So after considerations of lastability, durability and ease of use I decided to go with roller bunks. My first Jetski I purchased I had to actually pick up off the ground but the strap on the either Jetski and simply started cranking. With the roller bunkers the ski got right on this is with one man picking up unit with nothing but a strap!! This wasnt a kids 1500cc Jetski laying on the ground either I simply cranked & rolled it straight up onto the bunks no problem! Since this time I’ve had orders of 12 trailers to be manufactured! Ill never have to replace boards or carpet or worry about them breaking in travel and crushing hulls!
Love it
Installed these on my existing boat ramp. I poured a 'V' groove like a curb and installed. At the top I installed a 3 ton winch. I pull my 28 foot pontoon boat out of the Gulf of Mexico no problem. I enjoy watching the neighbors eyes light up in envy. Great product and easy to install. One note: I shoot them with white lithium grease regularly due to being in the salt climate.
First off, I alway wanted a set of these, but couldn’t justifying installing them when there was nothing wrong with my stock bunks, and my boat was never a issue to put on/off the trailer. WAS I EVER WRONG!!!
I have an 2014 Lund WC-14 that spends most of it’s life on my trailer. It is used in fresh and salt water and always well rinsed after use.
A short while after putting it in the water for the first time this year, I noticed a pin hole leak in the hull. The boat is in show room condition, so I couldn’t believe my eyes. When I got it back home, I pulled the boat off the trailer to find that the aluminum hull was starting to pit where the trailers carpet coated bunks make contact. Everywhere else was still like new. After fixing the hull with JB weld marine, I had to find a way to prevent this from happening again. The only answer was to use a bunk that does not hold moisture. After doing some research, I decided on the 5’ Dutton-Lainson roller bunks. Super easy installation using the same mounts as the old carpet bunks. I pulled off the old bunks and bolted these to the old brackets. I did have to lower the mount brackets to keep them at the same height as my old bunks. No big deal. Less than a hour later, done. I can roll the boat back and forth on the trailer with one hand now, and moisture should not be a problem.
super great product!!! made putting my boat on and off the trailer super easy!!! Best money I ever spent!
Combined bunk rollers and a keel roller (along with a winch and some lumber) to create an easy way to lift and store our 22' kayak. Works like a dream!
Great roller bunk, have had them for a year and they have worked excellent.
Product works well and has provided the required flexibility needed to unload and load my jet-ski into the bead of my truck.
No more replacing old rotten wood bunks and recarpeting.
Problems YES!!!!!, but not with installation of rollers. Bolts were all rusted and of course would not loosen sooo a large screwdriver and a hammer to split the rotten wood and then a hacksaw and vicegrips to cut the bolts
I started installing the outboard 5ft rollers first nooo problem, then the inside 10ft rollers (I bought 2ea 12" pieces of 1/4" angle iron for the center brackets where the 2ea 5' rollers would attach and now I'm ready to drill my holes but, the 2ea new 18 volt batterys are both dead (I just charged them both the day before) luckly I had my doz-all saw with me but, I had been using it to trim tree branches and it showed only 1/2 a charge left.
Take a chance or leave the boat in the lake over night. (Now my wife wants to know just how much longer is this going to take)
I live 75 miles away. I needed to drill 4 holes through 1/4" steel. I thought I would give it a try until the battery has nothing left.
Thank God I had sharp drill bits (3 different size bits for each hole) Just as I was finishing the last hole, again I hear HOW much longer!!!!!
Well the rollers look great and work great!!!!!! Much easier to launch, and when trailering I don't need to back into the water as far and, they center the boat better when putting the boat on the trailer.
This is the second trailer that I have put rollers on. (I didn't have this many problems and my wife wasn't there).
If you're thinking of changing to rollers I'm sure you'll be happy, just be prepaired with every thing you need and give yourself time about 1 1/2 hours and, if its hot - - you might think about leaving the wife else where!!!!! I should have had my wife take pictures. Sorry about that!!
fish some shallow water launches with a shallow draft boat with a water jet motor could not get my boat off the trailer till i put roller bunks on.easy on and off the trailer
I took less than one hour to install both bunks. Was able to adjust them to a custom fit. The best part was that they are made it the USA! God bless your business!
I installed the 5' roller bunks on my Seadoo trailer, and they make loading and unloading a breeze even with shallow ramps or if the tide is out. I drive on, throttle up and hook the bow eye. So far they have not rusted, but it's only been one season.
Used your roller bunks to make a portable shore docking station. Project turned out great with the solid frame of the roller bunks. Saved me $$$ buying a kit from somewhere else!!
I opened my new rollers today. They were exactly as pictured on the site. What you can't see from pictures is the quality of the materials. I expected the channel to be minimal strength and was surprised to see it is heavy duty! I ordered an additional pair. Only half done
I have a Melges 17 trailer made by Sno-Bird in Wisconsin. To launch a sailboat you need to raise the mast on the trailer and then have a beach suitable for turning the boat into the wind to raise the sails. Most launches are not made with adjacent beaches for sailors. The anwer is to mount these Roller Bunks onto your trailer near a beach and use a Beach Dolly, in my case the SUT-700-U for my Melges 17 scow 335 lbs, to roll the boat from the trailer onto the dolly and then from the dolly onto the water. I modified my trailer using metal fence posts (lightweight, strong, $10 ea.) bolted to the roller bunks. Deflection on the posts is about 3/8" while trailering; stiffer than I expected. The fore and aft overhang on the dolly appears like it might be tipsy but the dolly is rock solid stable when amidships is about centered on the dolly. To turn I simply lift up the handle near the stern and turn. Pushing the boat from the dolly onto the trailer is a matter of pushing the boat until enough is on the bunk and then lifting the stern so it can meet the rollers after which is simply two hands pushing the boat up to the mast stand. Sideways, the boat will have to be strapped-down with ratcheting web straps. The Melges comes with a hold down and mast rest aft that secures to the trailer with a threaded rod on each side of the support. For extra side-to-side movement I mounted a little mini-bunk vertically on each side of the trailer. The mounting for that little bunk was originally where Sno-Bird mounted the bunks. I made the top-of-dolly bunks the same height as the top-of-rear trailer bunk. When locating your bunks fore-and-aft on the trailer be sure the rollers do not interfere with something on the bottom of your hull. In my case I had to avoid the bilge board slots, and the small bailers. Locating the bunks between those two longitudinal openings puts no stress there.
Website is easy to navigate. Product came to my door within just a few days. The bunk rollers are the perfect solution to getting my boat on and off when the tide is so low there is not much water on the boat ramp. Thank you etrailer....
ORDERED THESE MONDAY MORNING GOT HERE WENDSAY AFTER NOON ABOUT 1.00 BY 330 THEY WERE BOLTED TO MY BUNK,MY 20 FOOT JON BOAT I CAN MOVE BACK AN FORTH WITH ONE HAND,THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST ITEM I HAVE EVER BOUGHT
We converted our boat trailer using a pair of Dutton-Lainson roller bunks and have been very pleased.
Received these in a couple days etrailer was on it immediately I couldn't believe the fast shipping.
The rollers not installed yet but appear to be very good quality and better yet made in USA.
Just wanted to brag on Papa's amazing boat ramp, built by his own bare hands, all in the name of fun. Behold and bask in it's glory!
The rollers work very well and all I lack in finishing the job is some stain to make it look professional.
Here are some pics from the first set of rollers I installed last year. I am fabricating a new way to store the skis back-to-back with the set I just ordered.
I purchased 5 sets of these from e trailer and Dutton lainson as I am using them on a 26 foot twin outboard walk around, the boat is easy too launch and recover without getting my feet wet or putting my back brakes in the water which was my goal, my boat storage is 1/8 mile from the ramp, and I use an additional safety chain on the front and heavy duty straps in the back and I release the straps at the waters edge for safety I mounted directly on 2x6 with 3coats of water seal a little bouncy when I tow to the gas station but these work great for me as I can get in the bed of my truck and on to the boat without getting wet, Dutton lainson sells extra rollers, I purchased 12 for down the road.I can send pictures upon request next time I launch the boat.
We were having an awful time getting our boat on and off the trailer. I thought "wouldn't it be great if someone made rollers?"
So I did a search and landed on etrailer.com and low and behold...roller bunks. Yippeee.
The boat literally slides right on and slides right off into the water, no muss no fuss...love em!!
VERY heavy duty, WELL made and VERY easy to install...just watch the tutorial videos.
Thanks E-Trailer & Delux roller Bunks!!
