Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a quick look at the Taylor Made Commercial Fishing Buoy. This is going to help to mark the edges of your fishing line or your fishing net so that you can keep track of it and also keep it afloat. Now this is kind of deflated it's not at its full capacity. To fully inflate it you do need a pump that has either a needle or a compressor to actually get in there and pump it up all the way. I don't have one of those available to me here in my studio. So that's why it looks kind of sad and a little shriveled.
Normally, whenever you fill it up with air, it will be more plump and buoyant and round. So just want to give you a disclaimer right off the bat.The way that you'll inflate it is this trivalve kind of up towards the top. So again, you will need just your typical bike tire needle pump or compressor to get the air in there. I think probably the needle is going to be the easiest way to do this. I did try using a pump because you can take this all the way out.
If you have like a flat blade screwdriver or something kind of flat, even a quarter or a coin will fit in there and allow you to turn it. And you can take that plug out so you can fill it up that way, but then you have to put that plug back in and all the air kind of rushes out before you can get it plugged back up. So just something to keep in mind with that. It's a Marine-grade vinyl so it's going to be nice and durable. You can see at the top, it's going to be a very sturdy islet here to accept a shackle or a rope, neither which are included, but it does allow you to have that connection to your net. It is a nice tapered design so it's not going to cause any kind of chafing in the line.
And it's an easy to spot color that bright, neon yellow is definitely eye catching so you shouldn't have too much worries about losing this out in the waves. As far as the specs with this, it measures about 16 inches tall by about 12 inches in diameter when fully inflated, and it does have a circumference of 38 inches. The buoyancy rating for saltwater is 38 pounds. For freshwater it's 36. The islet diameter is one and a 16th inch right here. And also the inflation pressure rating goes up to 2 PSI or 2 pounds per square inch.
And the maximum pressure rating is 2000 pounds per square inch. That's pretty much all there is to it for this guy. It is made in the USA. I hope this video has been helpful in deciding if this is the right buoy for you. Thanks for watching and we'll see you next time.

Bright yellow color is easy to see.I purchased two of these to use as buoys on my crabbing trot line. They are visible and meet the dimensional DNR requirements in the state of Maryland. However, I only rate them as a 2 star product because the valve system instructions are poor and the valves also leak requiring inflation check and additional air before each use. It seems the valve will accept a ball inflation needle, but a hand pump won't inflate these buoys. Instead, you need an air compressor. Please send me valves to replace the ones I currently have.
Great and fast service
